View Full Version : Phasing Deacon Out?
Janice 10-18-2003, 03:54 PM It seems to me that Danny is becoming more prominent this season with Deacon rarely around. It's early in the season, and this may change. I know that Danny is played by Kevin James's brother, so this may be nepotism at its not so finest.
I only know that I'll take Deacon over Danny any day of the week. He's grounded and sensible, and I think he has a nice way about him.
The show has Spence for the goofy friend, and I think that Deacon was a nice balance.
cablejockey 10-18-2003, 03:59 PM Your'e right, there hasn't been many scenes with Deacon in them this season. They better not be planning to get rid of him and bringing that creepy Danny in as a main character!
vhshunter 10-18-2003, 06:24 PM Next weeks episode is about Deacon. Kelly comes back to town and wants to get back together.
cablejockey 10-18-2003, 07:15 PM Thanks, I'll be watching. Does anyone know anything about the actor who plays Deacon? I think I've seen him on other shows.
Janice 10-18-2003, 09:48 PM Here's his resume. His name is Victor Williams. He's been on ER often I guess.
I'm glad he's going to be featured on the show next week. It would be great if he and Kelly got back together, and did the couple thing again with Doug and Carrie.
Remember when the four of them went away, and Deacon and Kelly were in the hotel room next door. What was the song...Let's Get It On...or Sexual Healing?
Doug and Carrie were jealous.

vhshunter 10-19-2003, 02:31 AM Victor Williams still has about 3 episodes of Pyramid to air.
Pyramid tapes 5 shows with a star, but they don`t show they all at once. they only show about 1 a week.
seven_to_shea 10-19-2003, 06:52 AM That's great news that Kelly is returning. I really hate the Danny character. Not funny at all and annoying. I remember a storyline involving Spence moving in with him which was excruciating. I really don't like it when people get their own show and cast family members in prominent roles.
glenny 10-27-2003, 11:11 AM I actually like the character of Spence the best!!
Janice 10-27-2003, 01:44 PM It was great to see Deacon again, front and center, in last week's episode. Now that he and Kelly are back, I hope we see more of Deacon and less of Danny.
That episode with the beautiful stewardess was hilarious. She must be a supermodel in real life. It was so funny when Doug popped his head up between her and Deacon in the hallway....and how Carrie had second thoughts after meeting her.
Doug's talk about time travel and Back To The Future was classic Doug. I love this show. I think it's more consistenly funny than EL Raymond or Will & Grace. I enjoy all of these shows but find the other two more hit and miss than King of Queens, which rarely fails to make me laugh.
*GoodMorningCalgary* 10-27-2003, 07:09 PM If anyone should get Phased out is Spence. The King of Queens would be like one of the best shows if it wasn't for him. He always ruins the show with his stupid sub plots. I wanna see Dough and Carrie and Arthur instead!
the truth 10-28-2003, 10:43 PM Spence is ok in small doses...the one who needs to be "phased out" like yesterday is that damned DOG WALKER. Hell, she wasn't funny even in the first one she was in. It was like, hey-she's being paid not to have sex with Arthur but to WALK him...hahaha!
Not funny! Lose her!
Janice 12-04-2003, 02:38 AM Looks like I was wrong about phasing Deacon out this season. He's back, and I love it. He adds so much to the show. The chemistry between him and Doug is great, and I missed Deacon when he wasn't there.
As Carrie would say: Danny, not lovin' him. He's gotta go. ;)
seven_to_shea 12-04-2003, 12:09 PM I think it's safe to say that through the horrors of nepotism, Danny will be one character not about to be phased out.
Viola_Fuss 12-06-2003, 03:44 PM I like Spence and Deacon. Ditch Danny. I also would like to see the Dog Walker chick take a hike. The next door neighbors with the pool....now I'd love to see more of them. But then...it wouldn't be about Doug and Carrie anymore to focus on them and their problems. But they were funny. I believe the guy now plays the Dad on Malcombe in the middle?? Lou Ferrigno is pretty good, too.
WOW
I didn't know the guy who plays Danny is Kevin James real life bro.
Has Leah had any of her family members on? I know Angelo has been but what about Leah's sisters. (She doesn't have any brothers, right?)
Dogma66603 02-27-2004, 09:23 PM I don't like Danny, but he is unbelievably sexy.

Yeah her sisters have! Her older sister was in the episode when Doug and Deacon win the five grand from a boxing pool and decided to spend all the money in a day so their wives wouldn't find out.
Leah's oldest sister played the masseur rubbing Deacon down. Doug's fiancee played another masseur rubbing Doug down.
Leah's younger half sister played a small role as a coffee shop patron in the episode that Arthur gets a cell phone but never gets any calls. Arthur watches her and everyone at the shop talk on their phones while he sits their and looks at his.
