Pavan 10-22-2003, 05:52 PM A DIANE SAWYER EXCLUSIVE: AMY YASBECK TALKS ABOUT THE SPIRITED LIFE AND LOVING LEGACY OF HER LATE HUSBAND, JOHN RITTER, ON "PRIMETIME THURSDAY," OCTOBER 23 ON ABC
Also: Brian Ross Investigates Hospital-Acquired Infections and the Dangerous Bacteria that Are Living in Some Hospitals
And: Meet the Dancing Man from those Joe Boxer Commercials
In an exclusive "Primetime Thursday" interview with Diane Sawyer, actress Amy Yasbeck speaks candidly about the sudden, tragic death of her husband, actor John Ritter, and the void his death has caused in the lives of his family and friends. Yasbeck describes Ritter's last day and discusses how she and their young daughter are coping with the pain of his loss. "He was a wonderful husband," says Yasbeck, who paints a portrait of a man who loved his family above all else and was just like the kind, fun-loving on-screen characters that endeared him to millions. Ritter, the star of the ABC sitcom "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," died last month of an undetected heart ailment. "Primetime Thursday" airs THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Also: Legendary sports journalist Dick Schaap's death following a routine hip replacement shocked his family, friends and fans. Chief Investigative correspondent Brian Ross reports that Schaap's family believes an infection he acquired at one of New York's most prestigious hospitals contributed to his death. The hospital denies the claim. Today, hospital-acquired infections are the fourth leading cause of death in America. They are increasingly difficult to treat because many strains have become resistant to even the most powerful antibiotics. Some critics say hospital infections are a disgrace to America's health care system, and many could be easily prevented.
And: Cynthia McFadden talks with Vaughn Lowery, the young actor who has catapulted to pop culture stardom with his fun-loving, dancing character in Joe Boxer underwear commercials.
ABCNEWS.com will provide companion programming and carry reports from "20/20" on ABC News Live, the 24/7 streaming video news network available on the Internet to subscribers. Go to ABCNEWS.com for more information.
Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson are the co-anchors of "Primetime Thursday." David Doss is the executive producer. (CLOSE CAPTIONED)

Janet: You are? It's lovely on you Cindy.
Cindy: Thanks Janet.
Jack: Why don't you tell her the truth, Janet?
Janet: Jack!
Cindy: Janet, if you don't like it I'd wish you tell me, because I think you have real good taste.
Janet: Wait wait.
Jack: Oh Cindy! That's not what you told me last week!
Janet: What did you tell him last week, Cindy?
Cindy: Nothing!
Jack: Oh come on Cindy! You told me you hated that plaid dress Janet was wearing!
Cindy: I did not!
Janet: Then what did you say, Cindy?
Cindy: Um I said I didn't like it for me. But it's alright for someone with...with...
Jack: Short legs, go ahead.
Janet: Short legs?!
Cindy: Janet, I didn't mean -
Janet: Short legs?! Well! Let me tell you something about my legs! They are not short, they are not long, they are just right! But perhaps someone with legs like a giraffe might not notice that!
Cindy: Who you calling a giraffe?!
Janet: If the legs fit, WEAR THEM!

Krisalicious 10-23-2003, 10:27 PM Oh god....now that was SAD. :crying: "Drop him".......ohh man. How do you tell a five year old that their dad is dead? :crying:
luckilab1 10-23-2003, 10:53 PM yeah.. that whole thing was so sad. it made me cry at a few parts to see Amy all choked up :(
Stella seems like a bright little girl, like when she said how would they know if asking heaven to drop her daddy would work if they never tried it.
But overall, it was a very good interview.. it was very apparent that they were both very much in love with each other and Stella.
