View Full Version : how would you grade the twilight zone? damin mance 10-18-2003, 07:50 AM A!:D Steve's Roadhouse 01-22-2004, 05:57 PM The original Twilight Zone was the Pinnicle of television, which is kind of sad considering TV was relatively young at that point and they really haven't improved on it in the 40+ years since. Rod was the key ingredient, of course. Many of the best half hours on TV came from this program. If I could write like Rod Serling at his best, I would be... well, probably a wealthy man at this point. But happier, too. ;) Of course it gets an "A." damin mance 01-28-2006, 05:58 AM well this is the best show:D bad_boy 01-31-2006, 01:45 AM very good guys!:D hello bad boy:wave: Hey, Happy birthday damin. damin mance 02-01-2006, 07:47 AM thanks!!!:D Dislimb 12-18-2006, 06:20 AM There were a lot of shows that followed Twilight Zone!! Alfred Hitchcock Hour and Presents The Outer Limits But Twilight Zone is the One and Only Original!! Alfred Hitchcock Presents came several years before The Twilight Zone did. Having said that, TZ still gets an A+ from me. :) wiseguy182 12-18-2006, 07:32 PM Hey Dislimb, you have great taste in tv shows! ;) I voted an A as well. Rod Serling was a genius. Definitely one of the best shows of all time. By focusing on supernatural elements, the possibilities were endless, and Serling covered a lot of ground in five seasons. Because it was an anthology series, you had absolutely no idea what was going to happen in each episode, and I always looked forward to that twist at the end. It was fun to watch an episode and think you're watching one thing, and then at the end you realize you've been watching something entirely different. The acting was superb and the dialogue was crisp. Sure there were a few clinkers every now and then, but it doesn't affect the overall outcome for me. Out of the five TZ collections, I only need the fourth one to complete my collection. It was the main thing I asked for for Christmas. If I don't get it then, hopefully I'll have enough in gift cards to buy it. I've been wanting #4 for quite a while now, can't wait much longer. Twilight Zone fans may also be interested in Alfred Hitchcock Presents, another one of my favorite shows. It's basically the same thing, except it focuses on murder plots instead of the supernatural. |
