Did Fran on The Nanny wear a wig to make her hair big or was her hair just styled that way, were there hair extensions, etc?

For the first three seasons Fran's hair was styled 'big', believe it or not. For seasons 4 and 5, she wore wigs. Whenever she has her hair pulled back by a band, that's a wig. Also, she had some short hairstyle wigs. For season 6, they went back to just styling her own hair.
