Yeah i think it started in spring of 1976 on NBC. It was shown briefly on a local station in syndication in my hometown in 1988

I remember CPO Sharkey when it ran in the 70s. Funny show. I reaired on HA! Network (the forerunner to Comedy Central, it merged with Comedy Channel (I believe that was the network) to create Comedy Central) about 10 or so years ago. Enjoyed this show and Sgt. Bilko which also aired on HA!

I liked the way CPO Robinson played off Sharkey

You guys are lucky you got to see it in syndication. I haven't seen it since 1978 and my memory of it isn't very clear although I know I liked it.

If you look at my avatar, I enjoyed seeing Sharkey and that Tall Goofy Guy in the same scene. That Tall Guy also guest starred on Three's Company

I have no memory of this show at all, so I must've been to young to remember. I've never seen it in syndication. What was this even about?? How lomg did it last? This and That's My Mama are two whole new shows for me.

It was a 70's version of Mchale's Navy. CPO Sharkey was a comedy based on the Navy Life at a Navy recruiting station in San Diego, California. Don rickles was the star of the show and it ran on NBC from 1976 to 1978. If you look at my avatar, TV guide did a feature story on the show in july of 1977. Like That's My mama, CPO sharkey was another lost sitcom from the 70's.
