View Full Version : Kimmy getting drunk
Vegas Girl 10-17-2003, 12:44 PM In the last season, Kimmy got drunk and had an attitude, so DJ got mad and told her to leave. Then Danny came in DJ's room and she told him Kimmy was drunk and she didn't want to hang around her any more. Good thinking.
What I found odd was that Danny was sticking up for Kimmy and telling DJ she should be her friend. That contradicts all the other times when he was annoyed with her and told her to go home. She would even insult him and call him names.
I think DJ was using good judgment in wanting to find a better friend than that, but Danny encouraged DJ to make up with her.
I know my parents wouldn't want me hanging around a friend in high school who was drinking.
dawsongirl 10-18-2003, 03:39 AM I think Danny probably realized her drinking was not "like her." The Kimmy he'd spent years knowing was not the drunk. So, he probably figured DJ could bring the old Kimmy back. Ya know?
Urkel_2003 10-18-2003, 07:51 PM What I think happened with Danny and Kimmy, is the same thing that happened with Carl and Steve Urkel on Family Matters, Kimmy grew on Danny.

I agree!
Vegas Girl 10-19-2003, 08:49 AM Danny wasn't very impressed with the "old" Kimmy either.
Even if she wouldn't drink again, she was still disrespectful
and rude to him. If I had talked to my friend's parents that
way, I'd have gotten an a$$ chewing!
I think Danny's annoyance with Kimmy throughout the years was mostly played for laughs. I don't think he ever really disliked her. He knew she was DJ's best friend.
I haven't seen that ep in awhile so I don't remember the specifics but wasn't Kimmy upset about something, like DJ not having time for her, or something like that? I think Danny just realized that Kimmy was hurting and was advising DJ to be there for her friend. He knew that you shouldn't write off your friend because of one drunken night of bad behavior. And I agree with this: Originally posted by dawsongirl

But you're right Vegas Girl, most adults would be none too happy with a drunk teenager saying obnoxious things to them. What exactly did Kimmy say to Danny? I don't remember.
Urkel_2003 10-20-2003, 08:51 PM Kimmy didn't say anything to Danny in that episode.
Vegas Girl 10-20-2003, 09:46 PM In this episode, Kimmy wasn't upset about DJ not spending enough time with her. That was another one in which Kimmy was feeling left out 'cause DJ was always with Steve.
In this one, Kimmy had a hangover in the morning, forgot what happened the night before, and copped an attitude with DJ when she was only trying to help her.
Kimmy didn't say anything to Danny the night she was drunk, but she was unkind to him other times, calling him string bean and other names. She would make fun of this clothes.
One time there was a picture or painting of one of Danny's relatives (which was really Danny), and she said "Did you get a picture of the front of the horse too?" That line was funny to viewers, but to talk to your friend's father like that is rude.
Ahh, I'm getting the episodes mixed up. I haven't seen them in such a long time.
Anyway, my point is that I think Kimmy and Danny's relationship throughout the show was for comedic purposes. I always took it that they were joking with each other. Almost like a brother/sister kinda thing were they insult each other but it's done with humor and you know they don't really mean it. (I know they don't have a bro/sis relationship but that's the only example I could think of.) I guess I just never thought Kimmy was being maliciously mean to Danny and vice versa.

I honestly think we, the viewers, were supposed to think that Kimmy was just funny or annoying, but not rude or mean. Just my opinion though.
dawsongirl 10-24-2003, 02:26 AM I thought this was the ep where she was kinda jealous that DJ was going to college and was moving up and she wasn't. I haven't seen it in awhile either.

I don't know but that makes sense to me. I just thought there was a reason why Kimmy was drinking and that DJ was oblivious to it and that's why Danny encouraged DJ to talk to Kimmy. *shrugs*
Vegas Girl 10-27-2003, 07:44 AM No, Kimmy wasn't drinking in that episode because she was 'feeling' anything. They were just at a party, there
was booze, she drank, made a fool of herself, and got sick.

Ditto!
Vegas Girl 11-24-2003, 07:50 PM I think Jesse and Danny were truly annoyed by Kimmy. I think Kimmy and Steph didn't like each other, then Michelle just followed suit and didn't like her either. Yes, I think Kimmy had a crush on Jesse. I really can't think of a time that Kimmy and Joey spoke to each other!
Did ya notice that Kimmy never called the sisters by their names? She always called Steph "Blondie" or "kid" and she called Michelle "squirt" or "kid".
Urkel_2003 11-25-2003, 01:05 AM Yeah, I always wondered about the Kimmy and Joey thing myself. They never seemed to talk to each other. It was kind of the same way between Cody and Al on Step by Step.
