Starting October 27, Cheers will air everyday at 7pm and 2am (eastern) on SpikeTV! They will only be airing the Rebecca years. (Nick will possibly only be running the Diane years).

WEEKDAYS
7:00PM & 7:30PM Cheers (replaces Highlander)
2:00AM & 2:30AM Cheers (replaces Seven Days)
(Highlander will still air 4 p.m. and 1 a.m. and Seven Days will still air at 1 p.m.)

Note: Spike will start with the "Rebecca" Cheers episodes. Cheers will also still air on Nick@Nite at 1:30AM & 4:30AM.

Spike TV & Nick@Nite are sister stations. That is how Cheers can air on Spike...

As long as there is no awful bar at the bottom of the screen, I'll be watching.

That's not known yet. I think they'll just air the Rebecca years, but who knows if it will even still be on Spike TV when the time comes to start the rotation again.

I think that when Spike is airing the Rebecca Years, N@N will air the Diane years, and visa-versa. I might be wrong, but that's probably what they're doing.

I wonder if they'll air complete opening theme song. Because when N@N first started airing Cheers, they used the full theme song. But after a while they used the shortened version.

Aaaah... heaven. Cheers season 2 on DVD, Cheers coming on TV at a decent time... I love life. I am no longer depressed!

My guess is they only want to show the late 80s/early 90s years. There is a shot that Nick@Nite will only air the Diane years and Spike TV airing only the Rebecca years, though that is not known yet.

Just a reminder. The episodes that air at 2:00am are the same episodes that air at 7:00pm. Also the episodes will air in production order not air date order starting with Home is the Sailor.

This is great news. I hope Spike airs Cheers for a long time. Maybe if Cheers gets good ratings on Spike, other N@N shows like Coach or Wings could get another chance there. If those shows and Cheers were on from 5-8pm, they would probably get good ratings.

Ya and its been a living hell but thank god its coming to Spike. And I'm so stoked because today i finally got a dvd player and The Complete First Season. Ive been watching in non stop since I got home from school. I cant wait for the second season. :happyface

Cheers is the perfect show for Spike TV for 2 reasons. It's well-written and it's set in a bar. So it's a show that appeals to least 2 different groups of male viewers.

Only the Rebecca Years Airing, Pros and Cons:

Pro: No Diane (Well, except on the finale, but..)

Con: No Coach.

Pro: Cliff on Jeopardy

Con: TNN has been known to timer-compress (That is, speed up with a digital device the actual playing of the ep itself, not just through editing, but by actual Digibeta tape compression). (Watch the credits of most shows, or the entire last 15 min of Trek:TNG, and look for the choppy picture)

Pro: Did I mention no Diane? (Nothing truly personal towards Ms. Long, I just never cared much for Diane)

BTW: They showed Diane in the Promo during the Split Screen, and based on Frasier's hairline, it was from one of the season's before Shelley left.

"Home Is The Sailor" is a great episode, better than "Give Me A Ring Sometime", IMO.

Yes the split screen thing was from the episode in season 3 called "Diane's Allergy"

I love home is a sailor...but it doesn't beat "Give me a ring sometime"
