I was wondering, what's the biggest age difference between the actor, and the charachter that actor plays on a sitcom. The 2 biggest ones I can think of is Henry Winkler playing Fonzie on Happy Days. Henry Winkler, was 28 when Happy Days premired in 1974, yet his charachter was 19, and I'm not sure because they never mentioned his age, but I think he was 19 for the next few years too. The actor who played Arnold Horshack was 30 when Welcome Back Kotter ended, and Horshack was probably about 18 at that point. What's the Biggest age difference from actor to charachter that you all know of?

Although it may not be the biggest age difference, Amy Davidson is 22 in real life and plays a 15 year old in "8 Simple Rules". Kaley Cuoco is younger than Amy and yet she plays the older sister.

Richard Crenna played a squeeky-voiced teenager on "Our Miss Brooks", although he was pushing 30.

Irene Ryan was only a few years older than Buddy Ebsen, but she played his mother-in-law on "The Beverly Hillbillies".

Vivian Vance was about 10 years younger than Ethel Mertz.

Then there's most of the cast of "90210".

Yikes, I'm just trying to be funny. I believed you. I guess when you can't actually hear me say it, I could understand it being taken the wrong way.

This has to be the BIGGEST age difference.

Vicki Lawrence was only 24 years old in 1973 when her Mama character first originated on "The Carol Burnett Show". How old is Mama? 65. So, that's a 41-year difference.

When her TV show, "Mama's Family", started in January 1983 as a mid-season replacement, she was only 33, and Mama stayed 65.

Now, in real life, Vicki's 54 and Mama is STILL 65. It won't be long (only 11 more years) before Vicki FINALLY turns 65 and will be the same age as Mama.

....the dorky Andrea Zuckerman on Beverly Hills 90210 was pushing 30 when the show started. I think they were supposed to be in, like, the 10th grade!! I liked her though. She was born in January of 1961!
