Hello!! Allow me to introduce myself: My real name is Shelby T Mitchell and I thought it would be neat to have a newsperson, if that is all right to help everybody on the board catch and keep up with the news, Nationally & Internationally. I hope you will like the new thread that I am going to do because this board is so, so great and I love it already having joined only yesterday.

Here is the news for October 13, 2003 at 7:18 PM Eastern Time:

1. Conjourned Twins from Egypt went through six hours of surgery in order to seperate the twin boys, ages two from the blood vessels in their brains so that they could have more normal lives. The doctors at a Children's Hospital in Texas says even though the surgery was a success, they will have to endure more surgeries in the future so that they can live normal lives as they grow up. Great news there!! :D

2. Kobe Bryant is due back in court to continue the hearing that began on Thursday on Wednesday to see if he will stand charges of sexual assault on a 19-year old female employee of the posh hotel that Bryant was staying while recovering from knee surgery. The un-named employee says that while she refused to get into a hot tub with the NBA star, she did agree to a hug but then Bryant began touching and grouping her in places that were off-limits to the woman, which even though Bryant admits to having committed adultery, he denies that he touched her inapproiately. If convicted, Bryant could face either probation and/or up to four years to life imprisonment if convicted. The incident took place late June and Bryant was indicted on the Fourth of July.

3. President Bush is going around the usually skeptic and cynical national White House Press Corps and talked to five major news organazations who normally don't cover the West Wing and talked about his declining approval ratings(which are at a low in his nearly four years in office to 50%), why he thinks that the war in Iraq is still not over and wants to capture Saddam Huessain and why troops, who were promised to go home about four or five months ago will probably have to spend at least anywhere from six months to a year, which almost all of them are both shocked and disappointed about the Department of Defense's promises to let them go home once the war was over on May 1st and the declining economy which a half a million jobs were lost and people blamed the President for them being un-employed. Bush is going to the Asian countries for five days to attend the Asian Pacific Economic Conference starting Wednesday.

4. And on a very sad note, Famed Horse Jockey Willie Shoemaker passed away at the age of 72. He is probably the best jockey of his generation and won four Kentucky Derbys, two Belmonts, and five Triple Crowns in his half a century of Horse Racing. He was paralyzed in 1990 in an automobile wreck in which he was charged with a DUI, leaving him without the use of his hands and legs. He was indeed, a legend that open the door to many other jockeys following in his footsteps. We will indeed miss him.

Well, that is the news for tonight. Check back often for more updates because news never sleeps. This is Shelby T Mitchell signing off and Keep up the good work on the Sitcoms Online. Com. God bless every one of you!!!

Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen!! This is Shelby T Mitchell for the news of October 15, 2003 at 4:40pm Eastern Time:

1. The Kobe Bryant case has rested for today. The DA hopes to block the Defense Attorneys from talking about the case because the leaks have made national news and even on "Saturday Night Live". The Courtroom was closed to the media and the public so that both the defense & prosecution could get a fair trial.

2. A woman who suffered a heart attack and was kept on life-support for over nine years doctors say could and/or will die in two weeks. The woman's family wants to pull the plug but her husband doesn't want to have her family pull her off life support and that quarrel will be the subject of the Supreme Court's decision whether or not to be for the woman's family or husband. She has never recovered from the heart attack.

3. The Chicago Cubs fans are furious about one of the Cubs fan in Wigley Field, when one of the Florida Marlins hit the ball, the Cubs outfielder was trying to catch the ball but the fan caught the ball with his hat. The outfielder was furious and in rage. The fan has been hit with beer and debris and fans have been shouting obscenties and the MLB hasn't decided whether or not to take disclipinary action on the fan, who was escorted out by the Chicago Police and guards. The fans thought that he cost the Cubs, who were ahead 3-0 in the seventh inning, only to see the Marlins come from behind and win 8-3.

4. President Bush will be in California to meet with soon to be Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss jobs and the economy as well as lower taxes before Bush hits almost a week-long out of the country tour of the Asian continents and Australia with the Asian-Pacific Economic Summit coming next week. He will tour Tokyo, Singapore, & Korea. He leaves Friday Morning.

That is the news for now!! Check back for more updates as news never has, is, and will ever sleep!! Shelby T Mitchell signing off!! Have a great day and God bless!!

Good Evening News Fans & Junkies: Shelby T Mitchell for the news of October 16th, 2003 on Thursday at 6:12pm Eastern Time:

1. The New York Ferry that has been famous for transporting commuters, residents, and travellers to work, appointments, and sight-seeing collasped in one of the most ferry accidents in US History. The ferry, which commutes over 33,000 times annually, collasped in half and over 14 people have died and over 30 have been injured with some people having their arms and/or legs cut off and the police ruled out terroism but still doesn't know why the ferry collasped and are asking the ferry workers to submit to drug & alcohol screening tests.

2. The serial killer who escaped from a maxium security prison for murdering five people, including two of his family members, over the weekend, surrendered in Ohio(if that is correct!!) without incident. He will be extrodicted back to Kentucky where he broke out and in addition to the life-terms sentences without parole, he could now get more prison time for trying to escape. Like 10-25 years. He will die in old man in a cage.

3. The NBA got the regular season started Tuesday amid controversey over some of the players off-the-court conducts like being arrested for spousal abuse, drugs & alcohol abuse, & assaulting law enforcement officials, on the high Kobe Bryant sexual assault case. The NBA says they will take action if any of the players mis-behave in and off the court. Let's hope so!!

4. It is game 7 for the Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees tonight. The series is tied 3-3 with Boston winning 4-3. Whoever wins will advance to the World Series to take on the Florida Marlins, who beat in the best of seven games 4-3, 9-6 over the Chicago Cubs yesterday. The Chicago Cubs fans felt they were cheated winning, when one of the fans, as the Cubs Outfielder try to reach and grab for the ball next to the stands, caught the ball with his hat. He was then, escorted out by police and security when the players were enraged with anger and outrage, and fans threw beer, food, and other debris while shouting obscentities. The fan is also getting hate mail via phone, e-mail, answering machine, and his place of work. One of his friends say that "His friend feels he cost the team the game and feels nothing but guilt and disgust". The World Series begins Saturday Night.

5. Despite proceeding with various health problems, Pope John Paul II has several events to accomodate with his 25th anniversary as the Main Pope around the world. He is pressing on despite his recent health setbacks. Good for him!! ;) ;)

That is the news but keep checking back for more updates!! Shelby T Mitchell, Have a blessed day and God bless and keep everybody!! :happyface :happyface
