Was Edna Garrett on the 2 shows at the same time? I know Diffrent Strokes isn't older than FOL.

Diffrnt stroks was on a year ahed of FOL, Charlotte Rae(Mrs G) was offered a contract for the show FOL in 1979 and if the show were too flop she would be given her old job back on diffrent strokes. the pilot for FOL was actually orrigiannaly aired as a diffrent strokes episode, which will air on April 4th at 9:00PM est on N@N.

yup that about sums it up... but YES Diff'rent Strokes is older than Facts of Life.. but only by a year... and infact i think that diff'rent strokes ended a year before Facts of life did... so i think they both had the same run.. but correct me if im wrong...

DS ended to 2 years before FOL in 1986. So FOL had a longer run than DS.

I think that in the early episodes, FOL was kinda relying on DS to keep it afloat. Up until Jo came. The rest, was history
