LOL, half-days are pretty common. Parent-Teacher conferences? Half day. Teacher conventions? Half day. Finals? Half day (not quite, but you get out like 2 hours earlier during finals because we have them 3 days during the week)

Never happened to me, and the parking lot at my HS was INSANE. Teachers would always excuse the bus students first, but many kids would find a way to get out along with the bus students. ;)

If I were still in HS, I would be getting out on December 19th and be going back on January 5.

When I was a senior, we hardly had much of a Christmas vacation. I had to go back January 2nd. :mad:

But the good thing was I graduated on May 23rd of this year and the class of 2004 here graduate on May 30th. :happyface

I know :eek: It seems that every year, people go back to school earlier and earlier. Here, though, for as long as I can remember, we've always started school the week before Labor Day weekend and we've always gotten out the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. Some years, if we didn't use our storm days, we got to get out 1-2 days earlier. :D :king:

Actually, yesterday it snowed a TINY TINY bit. It won't start actually snowing and staying for another month yet, though.

Not only were there a large number of people there, but there were also tons of Native Americans milling around (not too common around where I live). :eek: I live in a state with like 5 Native American reservations, but there's no reservation anywhere near me. There is, however, a reservation 10 minutes away from the town I used to live in (I moved away from this town). This reservation in question is 180 miles away from where I live now, and there were an overabundance of Native American people from that reservation at the mall yesterday! (I knew because a lot of them had letterman jackets with the name of the school on their reservation on the back)

Don't get me wrong... But when there's no school due to the state teacher's convention AND more people from all over the state come into town....the mall gets really crowded. :eek:

Holy whoa, it probably does, that's where everyone goes lol. Especially where I live because there's nothing to do. We have nothing fun to do in our city lol. The mall isn't even in my city, it's 15 minutes away. lol I hate it here. :lol:

OMG. Dont' remind me. The winter of 1996/97 (my 6th grade year) was NOT a good year for us. We had NINE blizzards and we had to miss SO many days of school that the two snow days didn't cover them all and we had to take the days off from when we started summer vacation to make up for all the days we missed due to the blizzards. :(
