In this type of thread, someone makes a story, and someone continues. Example:

Then someone would continue and it will keep going. Get it? Good! I'll start:

One day, Major Healey was in his NASA office when all of a sudden, there was a...

...crash in the office next door and a scream...

He got up from his chair to see what it was and to his amazement it was.........

...Dr. Bellows walking down the hallway with a funky bottle in his hands and a girl with a blue harem suit walking alongside him. Dr. Bellows told Major Healey that...

a cloud of blue smoke seemed to appear out of nowhere and this woman appeared out of the smoke. "What is going on here, Major?"

Major Nelson replied, "Sir I can explain... The thing is that... " Major Nelson paused for a moment to think about what he was going to say...

. . . just at that point, another large crash was heard, even louder than the first!!!! Both Major Nelson and Dr. Bellows instinctively ducked for cover as they hear the loud noise . . .

of a airliner crashing into the building. Dr. Bellows, thinking it's the fault of Maj. Nelson, said....

...Major Nelson, you're FIRED...

Just then Major Nelson woke up from his nap, freightened into hyperventilation

Getting up off the couch, still somewhat frightened from his nightmare, he stands up and groggily staggers towards Jeannie's bottle. As he picks the bottle up, he calls out "Jeannie, Jeannie . . ." No answer. He looks inside the bottle and calls out her name again. But Jeannie is not inside her bottle . . . .

Suddenly,Jeannie appeared behind his back and said:Yes,master!Major Neslon jumped up and answered:Oh!There you are Jeannie!Where were you?

"I was at my mother's house, Master. Did I not tell you I was going? Today is her birthday!" She replies, and suddenly notices the mess around her. "Oh, my!! What has happened?! Oh, are you alright Master?!?!" Jeannie asks frantically

"Yes, I'm fine, Jeannie," said Major Nelson, "I just fell asleep and must have had a terrible dream."

"Oh, poor Master," responded Jeannie. "Well, don't worry, Master, I will have this place straightened up in no time."

"Don't worry about that, Jeannie," replied Major Nelson as he rubbed his head, "There is no rush."

"Oh, but Master, there is . . ." responded Jeannie with a look of worry on her face. "You see, Mother is coming here any moment."

Major Nelson yelled out:Your mother is coming!!!How come?!

"Oh, I can't believe this, Jeannie," Major Nelson blurrted out. "WHY in the world is your mother coming here????"

"Well," said Jeannie, nervously, "Master, she is worried about me and wants to check up on things."

"What in the world," responded Major Nelson, "would she want to check up on?!?!?"

Well Master.... I um...um... told mother that we were married and we had children.......

" . . . . YOU WHAT???????" yelled Major Nelson.

"I am sorry Master, but I had to tell her that because if I did not.. She... she would..." Jeannie replied nervously and paused. "SHE WOULD WHAT?!" Roared Major Nelson even louder than the first time.

"Well,she said that I would have to go back to Bagdad!!!" said Jeannie in tears.

"Well, Jeannie," snorted Major Nelson with a slight nervous laugh, "what do you propose to do about this?!?!?"

"Well, my clever, beautiful Master.. I thought that maybe.. since you are so clever.. you might think of a good plan.." Jeannie was about to continue when all of a sudden there was a puff of smoke and they saw someone emerge from it... Major Nelson had one of those frantic looks on his face...

Just then, Jeannie's mother appeared in front of them.

"Mother!" yelled Jeannie.

"Oh, boy" mumbled Major Nelson under his breath, "what do we do now??!!??"

play along master... Hi momma! Tony and I are very happy to have you here...

Jeannie? Yes momma? Where are the children?.........

Well momma, you see.. um.....They don't really exist yet... I am actually with child.....

Jeannie's mother leaped across the room in one motion, actually knocking over Major Nelson in the process, to hug her daughter!

"Oh, daughter, I am so happy. You have brought me great happiness!!!"

"yes momma" Jeannie replied and looked toward Major Nelson and gave him a nervous look.
"Now, about you.." Jeannie's mother looked toward Major Nelson. "Anthony Nelson is it?"
"Yes ma'am" said M. Nelson, not knowing what to call her.
"Tell me about yourself Anthony, when did you get married?"

"W-W-W-Well, Mother, ummmmmm . . ." Major Nelson stammered as he was searching for an impossible answer. "Ummmmm, well, you know how weddings are!!! Our wedding wasn't any different from any other wedding you've ever been to!!!" Major Nelson states as he begins to show slight persperation on his brow.

"What?!?" blurrted out Mama, "What kind of answer is that, Major Anthonthy Nelson," Mama said somewhat sternly with a hint of sarcasm thrown in, "I want to hear all the details of your wedding to my daughter."

"Well, Mama," Jeannie interupted, "you see . . . . ."

Jeannie got closer to her mother and whispered "Anthony.." she said with difficulty, since she was so used to calling him 'master' "...is shy, and he is nervous because he does not talk to you very much.." Jeannie was able to get that out, though she thought it over and decided it didn't make sense. "Well, daughter, he has reason to be nervous! I want to see how this, 'astronut' is it? is treating you. But do not worry, if he is how you have described him to me you will have no problems" Jeannie felt her stomach turn and gave her a nervous giggle and nodded.

"well mother, I wil start off with telling you about the wedding. It was so beautiful mother, and it was spur of the moment. Tony and I went out to dinner one night and he looked into my eyes and said 'Jeannie, will you do the honor of being my wife?' and well mother.. I just could not say no, we love each other so."
"Then" continued Jeannie.. "We went out and bought a dress, a tux, and flew to this beautiful chapel in Connecticut and a week later I was Mrs. Anthony Nelson. It was a very private wedding.
Anthony treats me real well too, he takes care of me, comes home everyday and kisses me and brings me flowers and ever since we found out I was expecting, he treats me like a queen."

"Well Jeannie"..said her mother, "I want you to know that if this astronaut doesn't treat you right, I will turn him into a bug and smash him then feed him to the cat!!!"

"Well, that's right, mother," Major Nelson nervously laughed and smiled, not believing the mess that he was in now, "it was beautiful, just beautiful."

"I just want the two of you to know," responded Mama, "how disappointed I am that I was not invited to the wedding."

"But, Mama . . ." Jeannie blurrted out, anxiously.

"Now, Daughter, hear me out," Mama continued, "I was indeed very disappointed that I was unable to attend your wedding but now that I hear how wonderful this astronaut is making you feel and how happy you are, it helps to lessen the pain of missing your wedding."

"Oh, that's wonderful, Mother," Major Nelson hastily added with a sigh of relief, "how long will you be visiting us for???"

"Oh, initially I was just going to stay for a very short visit," responded Mama, "but since my daughter has given me this wonderful news I have decided to stay until the baby is born"

"What?!?!?" responded both Jeannie and Major Nelson simultaneously.

"You heard me! said the mother."I missed the wedding,I don't want to miss the birth of my grand-child and I want to share this wonderful moment with my adorable daughter" added Jeannie's mother.But,mother!!!We don't have a room for you!"said Jeannie."Oh!But,this couch will do just fine!"Jeannie give worried look at major Nelson.

As Jeannie flashed a very nervous smile at Major Nelson . . . Major Nelson shot back one of those "if looks could kill" looks at Jeannie.

"What have you gotten me into, now, Jeannie?" Major asked with an extremely stern look on his face, "and how do you plan on getting me out of this mess??? Do something NOW before this mess gets any further with your mother"

"Well Master, we could always get married and and-" Tony interupted her "JEANNIE!!" "Oh, calm down Master, we will figure something out" Jeannie got close to him and gave him a pouty innocent face and Tony hugged her. He was starting to calm down. "Now Jeannie, you know we can't get married, astronauts and genies just don't go together. NASA just wouldn't accept you." Tony said, feeling sorry for her.. and for himself.. "But.. oh well it is no use. Do you have any ideas on how to make momma leave?"

"We can talk about it tomorrow master" said Jeannie as she wlaked into the bedroom so her mother wouldn't get suspicious, they both agreed it would be best that Jeannie blink up twin beds like the Bellows had.

that night Tony had a dream...

Jeannie was sitting in a pink room with a pretty flower border and in the cedar rocking chair holding a little pink bundle, and singing a lullaby, Anthony wlked over to her and looked into the face of a tiny infant with Jeannie's blond hair and deep blue eyes and he got a strange feeling in his heart..
"Anthony Darling, isn't she just beautiful, our daughter will grow up to be the most beautiful girl ever"
Then all of a sudden, images of him and Jeannie watching their daughter grow up and watch themsevles grow old together and then their sepration through death he then woke up..

"Wow" though Tony, I can't lose Jeannie, I want that life I just dreamed of as he looked over at her beautiful sleeping form....

"Jeannie!" Anthony loudly whispered
"Yes master" Jeannie said sleepily

"Maybe I was wrong Jeannie, I have been denying these feelings for awhile, but you knwo this whole situation has actually made me actually desire it to be true" Anthony said as he moved over to her bed and looked into her her blue eyes and moved into to kiss her and as she leaned in for a kiss too...their lips touched and sparks flew in their souls...

"Jeannie.." Tony said "I can always make an honest Jeannie of you"

"You know I love you very much, Jeannie," said Major Nelson.

"Yes, Master" said Jeannie looking lovingly at her precious master.

"But, right now, it is too difficult for us to get married. Being in the Military and working as an astronaut is what I am doing right now and getting married would raise too many questions right now for the two of us."

"Yes," began Jeannie, brokenhearted but recognizing that Major Nelson made a valid point, "this is true."

"Now, what do we do about your mother????" asked Major Nelson.

Jeannie looked at him with loving eyes and feeling very hurt although knowing he had made a point said " I don't know master, I am sorry I got you into this mess, I know I always tend to do that but, master I am going ot be honest with you too. I know it is difficult for you to be with me, but if you truly love me then that will not matter. I have been around long enough and seen enough to know thta love can beta the odds. If my mother finds out the truth, and seeing nothing will come of our relationship, then I will have no choice but to leave with mother forever......."

"Now Jeannie.. You know I love you more than anything in the world.. We have been together for a while and I don't think your mother should be the one to separate us like this.. What do you think she'll do if we tell her the truth?" Tony said and thought, "Nevermind, that was a stupid question." Jeannie then said "But Master, this is not fair to me, or YOU. I think I must leave with mother or else this mess will get worse than it already is. Oh how do I get myself into these things!"

Tony turned around and Jeannie was behind him. He started to think a lot and had a look on his face that was only of a man who was in love, confused, angry and worried all at the same time.

Tony looked at her and knew that this moment could change his life for the worst, he could lose everything in just a matter of seconds. He loved her too much and he knew that he could never love anyone as much as he loved her, she was everything to him.

"Jeannie" Tony said.. "Yes" said Jeannie
"Marry me Jeannie"
Jeannie turned around at him, suprised, then happy and said "Yes"

Jeannie hugged Major Nelson as hard as she could for what seemed like an eternity. Jeannie was estatic to think that her dream of becoming "Mrs. Anthony Nelson" would be more than a dream--it would become reality.

"Oh, Master, yes, yes, yes . . .!!!!" Jeannie continued. "I will marry you. When should we get married?!?!? Right now???" as Jeannie began to fold her arms in front of her and go into her "Blink" mode. "I'll pop up a minister right now, Master."

"Whoa, wait a minute, Jeannie," blurted out Major Nelson, "let's take this a little more slowly. We have to do this right, first of all, and second of all . . . ." Major Nelson paused searching for the right way to tell Jeannie.

"Yes, Master," responded Jeannie, desperate for an answer.

" . . . well, Jeannie, I have to get permission to marry since I'm in the military."

"Oh yes yes yes yes Master.. Is NASA open now? Can you go ask permission?!?!" Tony had never seen Jeannie THIS excited before.. But ofcourse even he felt like jumping up and down... "Jeannie, we'll start planning out everything tomorrow.. This is not a matter you can take care of in one day.. We've gotta be a little patient.. Atleast NOW we're getting somewhere" Tony smiled at her and then kissed her. "And, Jeannie.. You're going to have to stop calling me Master!"

After they kissed and Jeannie asked again when they could ask and Anthony again said that she would have to wait and then started laughing when Jeannie got a funny look on her face.

"Got ya Jeannie!!! Even though I am in the military, I really don't need permission,I do sacrifice certain things but I can get married if I want to, that is my personal decision to make. We can sneak out now and get married in Las Vegas, blink us there before your mom hears us!!" said Tony in a rush of excitement.

In an instant Jeannie had blinked them to a little chapel in the woods, with a preacher at the altar, knowing Anthony said Las Vegas. "Jeannie, this isn't Las Vegas" said Major Nelson. "I know that master, we are going to do this right and a cheap casino chapel is not the place to do it, I want to show my love to you and I will love you for the rest of my life, no matter what. You are everythign and I would give up everything for you. I love you." said Jeannie with tears in her eyes.
"Jeannie" Tony began.. "from the moment I first saw you I felt complete, you have brought so much into my life and you will always be my little genie and now you will be my wife. I will love you all the days of my life, forever and always."

With that, the Preacher said his final words and the lovers kissed.
After kissing and a long stroll int he enchanted woods, Jeannie blinked them home where they spent the night as newlyweds.

They woke up in each other's arms the next morning to the sound of a woman singing in the kitchen and breakfast cooking.

"Mother!" they both said at once, thye then got up and put their robes on running out to the kitchen.
"Hello, kids" said Mrs. Jeannie, "I am just making breakfast and I want you to eat up Jeannie, a genie must take proper care of herself when she is with child." Mrs Jeannie said with a caring tone in her voice.

"and you.." she said pointing at Anthony, can start looking at a bigger house or start turning the upstairs into a nursery for my grandchild, I don't want her to be living in a place unfit for her." With that she told them to go and wait in the living room while she finishes up.

"Speaking of grandchildren Jeannie, did we take precautions last night...?" Anthony asked kind of nervously and partly aching for a certain answer

"No, Anthony, we did not come to thnk of it, Oh my I wonder if I will be, oh I hope so!!"

"You know Jeannie, I kind of hope so too" he said silently happy that Jeannie's mother came because it finally made him come to his senses about his passionate love for Jeannie.. and with that they went to go get dressed......

A month had passed since their union and Mrs. Jeannie's arrival and everyone was very suprised at their union but they told everyone to not act all excited about it because they wanted to live in peace.
Jeannie had been feeling kind of sick and her powers were acting up that morning so Anthony told her to rest and visit a doctor later that day when her mother was out getting groceries to cook again. Jeannie was getting kind of irritated with the constant attention she was getting form her mother and how she and Tony never had any time together and the pressure form their friends to celebrate the marriage and keeping her mother hidden so she wouldn't find out the truth.
Jeannie then felt the urge to be sick. A few minutes later feeling weak and tired thought about why she was so sick, then remembering she and tony only found time together at night...
"Oh my Jeannie thought, realizing why she was feeling sick and very emotional, I am honest now, but.. I want to be alone with Anthony, momma is really bugging me and Anthony and I can take care of ourselves!! What will it take to make her leave? I want it to be Anthony and I plus our child, the three of us, not the four of us!!!!"

The door opened, Jeannie's mother was back from getting groceries. "Hello Jeannie my sweet daughter, how are you feeling now? When I left you, you looked very sick, my dear!" Jeannie rolling her eyes said "Oh hello momma, I am feeling a bit better thank you. But, momma I have really been wanting to tell you something." Jeannie's tone was more serious now, and her mother stopped what she was doing when she heard that tone. "Oh yes my daughter, you are scaring me, is anything the matter?" Jeannie, still in serious tone, said "Do not worry, there is nothing going on, but I really wanted to tell you that maybe Anthony and I should be alone a bit more. We really love you here momma, but this child that is on its way is something that we would like to share together as a married couple, not as a married couple plus the grandmama. Please do not take it to offense. You know that I love you very much and so does Anthony." Jeannie sounded more reassuring at the end of her 'speech' as her momma later called it when they were talking.

"Can I give you some advice on being a pregnant genie thoough Jeannie? There are some things that you really should know, both you and Anthony"said mother.

"I will tell you tonight, Jeannie, when your husband gets home, it is very important." said mother.

Later that night.....

"Anthony"Jeannie began as she escorted him into their bedroom so she could talk to him in private, "do you remember our wedding night and our disscusion the next day? Well Tony, we are going to have a baby!! I just couldn't wait to tell you! we are going to be parents and just in time for Christmas!!!"
As she was saying this, Anthony's eyes lit up and a big smile pasted his face, he grabbed her and gave her the biggest kiss he could and with such passion. He had a joyous feeling in his heart. "Jeannie," he began, "I am so happy, you have made me the happiest man on earth and I cannot wait to hold the life that we created together in my arms. I feel that my life is whole with you, you complete me, you are my soul mate. Our child, whom I have a good feeling will be a little girl that looks just like you, will be a miracle in our lives. When I first looked into your eyes on the beach, I always knew that one day you would be my wife and the mother of my children. I love you more than life Jeannie Nelson and I don't know how I can live without you, I forgot how to do that."
"Oh Anthony" said Jeannie as tears ran down her face. "Those are the sweetest words I have heard in all of 2,000 years. You are my soul mate and we will be together forever, I would give up all my powers for you so I can live a mortal life with you. I would give anything for your love, I don't ever want to live without you either. You are my stepping stone, I love you Anthony Nelson." Anthony too now had tears in his eyes, they embraced each other and layed down on the bed where they layed in a loving embrace curled up as if they were one and made love like it was the first time.

About thirty minutes later Jeannie told Anthony about her mother and that her mother had something to tell them,
"mother wants to talk to us about something very important about my being pregnant and being a genie, she will only tell us when we are together, so let's go sit down and hear it, I am really scared because it might have something to do with my health." said Jeannie very quiet
"Alright Jeannie, lets go, you are making me very scared right now. I never get scared and I'm and astronaut!"

"Alright, children," said mama with a slightly worried look on her face, as Jeannie and Anthony walked into the living room hand-in-hand and looked at her, "You really should sit down for this....."

Major Nelson and Jeannie walked towards Jeannie's mother in the living room. As they walked closer, Jeannie was becoming more and more nervous. As a result, Jeannie was not watching where she was walking. Before she realized it, Jeannie was feeling queezy in her stomach. Perhaps it was nervousness at what "Mama" was going to say; perhaps it was uneasiness at how her master would react to whatever her mother said; perhaps it was the effects of pregnancy on her body; perhaps it was a combination of all these things. Whatever the cause, just then, Jeannie passed out as she was entering into the living room. Before Major Nelso could realize what was happening, Jeannie fell very hard to the floor. In the process, she hit her head on the coffee table as she was falling.

A "thud" was heard as Jeannie's head struck the coffee table. Jeannie's mother screamed and Major Nelson scrambled to reach her on the floor, too late, unfortunately, "Jeannie! Jeannie!," yelled Major Nelson and her mother.

. . . . .

Some time passed before Jeannie had regained consciousness. Probably about ten minutes or so. As Jeannie woke up on the couch in the living room, where Major Nelson and "Mama" had placed her, she was reaching up to touch her head where she hit the table.

"Where am I?," Jeannie whispered.

"You're in the living room," Major Nelson said.

"But who are you," Jeannie asked, looking quizically at both Jeannie and "Mama."

"Jeannie, don't you recognize us?" Mama asked.

"No, I don't know who either of you are . . ." Jeannie responded with a puzzled look.

Major Nelson and Mama looked at each other with a look of panic on their faces.

"Jeannie has lost her memory," Major Nelson stated.

Mama just shook her head as a tear rolled down her cheek.

Anthony looked back over to Jeannie and began to talk to her "My name is Major Anthony Nelson, and you are at home in Cocoa Beach, FL."
"So this is my house? Why are you two here then?" asked Jeannie
"Well Jeannie, I am your husband, we have lived here for about 5 years, you at first lived here as my genie but then we finally admitted we were in love with each other so we got married and now we have a baby on the way.This woman over here( he motioned to Mrs. Jeannie) is your mother. She came here for a visit and to see how we are getting along."
"This is too much for me" said Jeannie as she let her head fall back on the arm of the couch, "could I please just go to my room and go to sleep?" asked Jeannie. Anthony nodded and helped into their bedroom where he helped her into her pajamas and helped her into the bed.

After he walked out of the room, he walked onto the patio where he sat on a chair and started to bawl like a 3 year old. Mrs. Jeannie, hearing him cry, walked out and saw him, then felt so sorry for the man, she had never seen a grown man cry like that. She walked over to him and started to comfort him, when he spoke: "Mrs. Jeannie, I don't know what to do! I am so scared, I love her so much. I love her more than anythign in this whole world. What if I lose her? I couldn't live if she wasn't around and if I would never hold our child. Please help me, I am desperate. PLease.....!!" Anthony started to sob even harder.
"Well".. said Mrs. Jeannie, she too had tears in her eyes, I need to tell you what I had to earlier and it might help her situation. I wanted to tell you both that It is dangerous for Jeannie to be with child and have her powers at the same time when she is carrying a child that is only half genie. She can most defenitly have children with mortals, but she must transfer her powers in the meantime. That is why she passed out earlier I am guessing. She does not know of this rule, I just found out myself from a book I was reading. I think I am going to summon Hadji to see whta he can do. We will have to wait for her memory to come back though, I am sorry. oh and Anthony, call me mama. You love my daughter, she loves you and for that, I love you son-in-law. "

"I love you too mama. Thank you. I trust that you will know what will work. I trust you. Please do whatever you can. Please mama."

Meanwhile....

Jeannie sat pondering in her bed. hmm I wonder what that man is like. He sure had a worried look on his face, he is so attractive. I must be a lucky woman to be his wife, and I have a baby on the way. oh, why must I feel so sick?
"Jeannie?" said a voice very quietly. Jeannie looked up at Anthony as he stepped into the doorway. "I am just checking to see how you were my love. I know this is scary for you and you are very confused but I hope you get better soon. I am very worried and want to help you in any way possible. First of all, you are a genie. You pop in and out of bottles, blink your eyes and think of something."
She did and blinked up a glass of water. "wow" she thought.. "that is so groovy."
"Jeannie, i was your master and now we are husband and wife who love each other very much. In December we will have a beautiful little baby that we created out of pure love."
"Yes Anthony" said Jeannie, "I only wish I could remember"

Mrs. Jeannie was calling Hadji to see what he could do. "Hadji, Jeannie married her master and now she is with child. She never knew what happens when genies have babies with humans. You need to take her powers away and let her know this."
"Yes, I can do that. I must see her first."
Hadji walked into the bedroom with Mrs. Jeannie, scaring Jeannie out of the bed at seeing this gigantic man and made her start to panic. With this, Jeannie felt faint again though fighting it.
"Jeannie" said Hadji, I must take away your powers to save your life, I have no time too, Jeannie, get ready because I am going to take them away. It is dangerous for genies to carry half genie-human babies." Jeannie had a weird look on her face. With this, Hadji mad ei t so her powers were gone and with the force, it sent her to the floor weakened and hitting her hed once more on the dresser.

Some hours later Jeannie was talking to her Mama and Tony. She was asking many questions at once"But I just do not understand. What exactly happened? Why was Hadji here, why did he leave in such a hurry? And why do I not have my powers? " Tony spoke softly to her, "Darling we were walking to the living room to talk to Mama and you just passed out and then you couldn't remember anything or anyone" Mama then said, in the same soft voice as Tony's "Yes, and Hadji was here because I called him so that he could take away your powers. What I didn't get to tell you before was that genie's who are carrying a half genie baby must have their powers taken away until the baby is born. It is a rule, that even I did not know about until just recently, that I read in a book. Then, when Hadji removed your powers you hit your head on the dresser and that is when your memory came back. We are very happy that you're OK my daughter." Jeannie smiled but still had a somewhat puzzled look on her face but before she could say anything Tony said "Yes very happy. You don't know the anguish I went through because of this. I was afraid I was going to lose you and I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I love you more than anything" Jeannie then said "I love you too Anthony. But you still did not answer my question about Hadji leaving in such a hurry." Mama said "Oh my dear he had to check on one of his brothers who is very sick. Jeannie, we are lucky that Hadji cares for you so much or he would not have come all the way over here for you. That just shows his great caring for you." Jeannie felt weak again and said "Yes Mama, I am a very lucky genie. But right now I am just feeling so weak, I think I will lie down on this couch and get some rest." Tony then said "What are you talking about? Do you think this man is going to let his expectant wife sleep on this uncomfortable couch?" With that he picked her up and said "Excuse me Mama, I'm going to take her to lie down in the bedroom where she will me nice and comfortable."
"Yes that is a good idea. Goodnight my lovely daughter."
"Goodnight mama"
She was so tired that on the VERY short walk to the bedroom she fell asleep in his arms. Tony lay her down on the bed and stood there just admiring her beauty and kept thinking about the events of the day.

Later that night, Tony and mama were sitting up talking when mama was discussing how much longer she should stay.
"Mama, we love having you here and you are a big help. Stay as long as you want to."
"Tony, I would love to, but, There are some commitments I need to do back in baghdad. My husband misses his wife, I have been here a month. So, I will stay her for another few dasy but then I must go home. You two need a chance to be back on your own. This is a special event in life and you both need to be together. Just promise me you will keep in touch?"
"We promise mama" said Tony
"Goodnight Tony" said mama, "go keep my daughter warm."
"Night mama" said Tony as he went to go curl up with his wife.

The next morning.....
Jeannie woke up to bright sunlight and her husband's strong grasp around her. "Good morning darling" said Jeannie, "I feel so much better this morning, thank you so much for caring for me. I love you."
"I love you too Jeannie. Let's go get some breakfast and then we are going to just relax around the house, how does that sound?"
"Sounds great my astronaut"
It was a nice relaxing day and the last day that mama said she would be there. It was a nice last day with mama and that night she made them a great big dinner that was a major hit.
The next day was hard as mama was leaving. She told them that they needed to make it on their own because this was their time. And with that in a puff of smoke, she was gone.
That night Roger came over and was suprised at the sudden change. He knew that they eloped but had no idea they were expecting. Soon all of NASA knew that Tony had a wife and baby on the way. Needless to say, it was not a night that the Nelsons were able to spend alone. They just wanted to be alone, what could be so hard about that?

The Nelsons finally were able to settle into a routine and were able to live alone as a married couple. They were having so much fun and before they knew it, 5 months had flown by. Jeannie was now into her third trimester and looking the part. She kept telling Tony that she "felt like a beached whale" Tony told her that she was still so beautiful and he loved her so very much.
The couple had started looking at houses but decided they better just stick where they were for now. They could just add on to the house because there were just so many memories in the house. So they were in the process of turning the upstairs office into a room until the new addition was built next summer.
One saturday in the middle of September, Roger came by and insisted that they go somewhere with him. Jeannie and tony weren't thrilled to have to leave the house but went anyway. Thye soon arrived at NASA where inside in the rec room, they were suprised with a baby shower!!!!........

Wow! Tony and Jeannie sure were suprised! "How do you like old buddy?" said Roger.
"We all wanted to do something to help you guys out, being still in your first year of marriage and about to welcome a new baby into the world." added Mrs. Bellows "By the way, I want to be called Auntie Amanda"
"And I.. Major Nelson" said Dr. Bellows "want to be called Uncle Alfred, by the children only though."
"Yes sir" said Anthony "I want to thank all you guys for coming! Jeannie and I really appreciate it all. It is great to know that we have great friends like all of you."

Jeannie had a great time socializing and getting to know the people her husband works with. The cake looked delicious and was decorated with pink and blue frosting with rattles and bottles.
Thye played a few baby shower games and then opened presents. Tony and Jeannie got a playpen (from Roger), a stack of diapers, baby clothes, a few bottles, and a baby book and a special blanket knitted by Mrs. Bellows.
The Nelsons were very grateful for all they recieved. They had fun with their friends and knowing that their child would be so well loved. After a couple of hours, Jeannie grew very tired and "said Anthony, I think we need to go home real soon. My back really hurts and I am so tired."
So Anthony told everyone that they would have to leave because the expectant mother needed her rest. They said there good-byes and Roger drove them home.

Later that night Jeannie at on the bed eating some ice-cream and Tony was sitting next to her with his hand on her belly trying to feel the baby kick, and he finally did. This started a discussion about the future:
"Jeannie, do you ever wonder where we will be in 30 years?"
"Anthony, I imagine we will be still in this house playing with our grandchildren and looking through photo albums of all our children. I defenitly want more after this one, and Anthony, I was wanting to tell you that I don't want my powers back. I want to grow old with you"
"Jeannie you know I will no love you no matter what you decide. You are the person I love, not your powers."
"I will think about it Tony" said Jeannie. right now I just want to lay here with you and enjoy the right now.
"I agree beautiful" said Tony.

Over the next few months Jeannie and Tony finished the nursery and we enjoying their last few weeks as a family of two. Jeannie was in her nesting phase, so the house was spotless and decked out in Christmas decorations.
On the morning of the 11, Jeannie woke up with really bad backpain and her stomach was bothering her. She told Anthony that she was going to stay in bed all for awhile longer before getting ready for the Christmas party later that day. Anthony said she should just relax and he would get everything ready.

Later that day, the guests started to arrive for the party. Jeannie decided to just greet guests because she was still pretty tired and not feeling so well. Mrs. Bellows even asked if she was alright.
"Anthony" said Jeannie, "I am going into the kitchen to grab a couple of things to help you."
"alright Jeannie" said Tony, "but take it easy, I don't want you hurting yourself"
"Yes dear"
A few moments later a crash was heard in the kitchen which stunned all the guests, and sent tony running into the kitchen.
"Tony!!!" screamed Jeannie in pain "My water just broke!!!"

Within seconds Tony had Jeannie out the door and to the car, with her already prepared suitcase in his hand. Roger said he would continue to host the party and they could call when the baby was born.
Tony drove incredibly fast and made it to the base hospital in 5 minutes. Tony hurried and helped Jeannie into the hospital and got her checked in. By now Tony was a nervous disaster and kept messing things up and getting very excited.
It seemed like forever for Jeannie to get into her gown and bed and prepped for delivery. Jeannie's contractions were now 5 minutes apart and she was getting very edgy.
"OWWWWWWWWWWW it hurts! Make it stop master, make it stop!"
"Jeannie baby, I wish I could. Hold my hand and take an ice chip" he said as he handed her a chip, which she immediately put into her mouth.

The time seemed to pass by forever! By evening her contractions were right on top of her. Also by this time, she had yelled at Tony and told him to go away and never touch her again. "Tony was really nervous and just wanted Jeannie to feel better and to see his child.
In the delivery room the doctor was telling Jeannie to push.
"Push Jeannie, push!"
"I am pushing!! I am pushing! What does it look like I am doing?"
Anthony continued to tell her just to be calm and soon they would have a beautiful new life to hold.
Jeannie gave one final push, when all of a sudden a cry was heard!
"It's a girl!" announced the doctor.....

"Isn't she just beautiful?" Anthony said as Jeannie held the newly
born Jeannie Amanda Nelson, born at 8:00pm December 11, 1969.
"Yes Anthony Darling, she is the most beautiful child I have ever seen in my entire life. Did you call Roger to tell him the good news?"
"I had better do that now. After the nurse take sour little girl back to the nursery.
A few minutes later, as he walked out, he realized he did not need to. The Bellows and Roger were headed to the room to see if Jeannie was ok.
"Hello there” said a proud Anthony. "Come see my new daughter!"
As he led them to the nursery window. "A niece?" said a happy Roger. " Oh boy!"
Her name is Jeannie Amanda Nelson, and she is the most beautiful baby! I love her so much. I am so proud of Jeannie!"
Everyone just agreed as they oohed and ahhed over the newest littlest Nelson.

A week later Tony and Jeannie were back home in the nursery dressing Little Jeannie in a little red Christmas dress given to them by mama, and getting her ready for her introduction/Christmas party, when they heard someone come in and a "Hello Jeannie darling, it's your sister!"

Tony's mouth dropped open and he didn't say a word. Jeannie, nervously said "Oh.. Hello sister. How have you been" She was really dying to ask 'Hello Sister, why are you here?' but she knew it would make her angry and she didn't want anything to ruin the day. "Oh sister, I'm just fabulous, and how're the new mother and father. And ofcourse my little niece. Mama told me all about her, I was dying to see what she looked like." Tony answered "We're both great.. real great. Uhh but actually we're expecting some guests, you can see litte Jeannie if you like, but could you make it quick?" Jeannie II sharply answered "Why wasn't I invited sister? Have you forgotten all about your poor sis? But OH WELL it doesn't matter I have to be at my master's stupid party in 15 minutes and he's been very moody lately, he keeps locking me up in my bottle for days. For once I'm going to be a 'good genie'." She added a great deal of sarcasm to the words 'good genie'. Jeannie said "Well I am sorry I did not invite you, but I had not seen you in such a long time, and I do not want.. Anthony.." she slowly said Anthony because she knew her sister would say something if she said 'master'. She continued, "Well, the people from the base to have any problems or anything" Tony gave her a sharp look because he thought her sister would get mad about her saying she would cause a problem, but instead Jeannie II said "Well enough talking, let me see the little Nelson baby.." she paused, looked at Major Nelson, then continued "She must look just like her father if she's as cute as Mama says she is" Jeannie preferred not to say anything. They walked into the nursery and Jeannie II had a grin that even Jeannie had never seen on her before. "Oh, my darrrling, your daughter is precious."

Jeannie II continued "I must admit that even if she looks like you Jeannie, she sure is precious."
"Thank you very much sister, we like to think so too don't we Anthony darling?"
"We sure do" as he picked up his daughter and leaned over to kiss his wife. "She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen" said Anthony as he kissed his wife again. "I love you Jeannie Nelson"
"I love you too Anthony Nelson" as she took her daughter as she sat in the rocking chair and got her ready to be fed.
"As much as I love this discusting show of affection, I must be on my way" said Jeannie II and she puffed out in blue smoke.

Glad that her sister left, Jeannie fed her daughter and then burped her. Tony and Jeannie walked out into the living room and Jeannie walked over to the pink satin bassinet where she placed Little Jeannie. As soon as she put her daughter down, she began to cry. Jeannie picked her up and got her to quiet down, just then the doorbell rang which caused Little Jeannie to start crying again.
Tony and ran to go get it, thinking it was one of their guests, and Jeannie jumped when he said "Mom, Dad! What are you doing here?????

Jeannie and Tony were both in shock. "Hello son, how ya been? Surprised we're here?" Tony's dad said, while his mother was fussing about how he looked like he hadn't eaten food in days "Oh my sweet boy! What happened? It looks like you're suffering from malnutrition!! I thought you had a housekeeper that made all your meals for you! Oh my poor baby. But don't worry, I'm here now to make all your favorite dishes!" Tony was trying to speak but between his father nagging him about being surprised and his mother fussing he couldn't speak. Jeannie was listening intently hoping that Tony would come upstairs and tell her what she had to do, or maybe if he'd tell them about her. Finally, Tony said "MOM!! DAD!! I'm fine. I'm here. Yes I'm surprised!" He chuckled nervously "Oh you two look great, just great." Tony was now trying to listen to what his parents were telling him and hoping he'd come up with something reasonable to tell them at the same time. He couldn't just say 'Hey, guess what? I got married and then my wife got pregnant and the baby was born! So you're grandparents!' Suddenly his mother said "You didn't answer my question!" He snapped out of it and said "Huh? What? Oh, did you ask me something? Sorry I was just thinking and didn't hear you." His mother said "I asked you where I could put our things. We're staying until after New Years you know! But, are you OK? You look a little pale." Tony knew his answer wouldn't convince his mother, and it wouldn't work if they stayed at the door until they had to leave. He chuckled nervously again and said "Oh yeah yeah mom I'm just great, just great. I have a little surprise for you. Just as long as you don't go upstairs, so you don't spoil the surprise!" His mother looked at him curiously but decided not to ask. Meanwhile, Jeannie was upstairs, no clue on what she had to do. She decided to finish dressing baby Jeannie and just wait. The only thing she could do. Finally, she heard someone coming up the stairs. She was hoping that it was Anthony, because if it wasn't.. Well she didn't want to think about what would happen. Suddenly the door opened.

Jeannie jumped at the noise of the opening door, startling Baby Jeannie and made her whimper. "Sorry little darling" said Jeannie 'Mommy didn't mean to scare you"
"Jeannie" said Anthony, "Is Jeannie all ready to meet my parents and are you? I kind of wish now that we agreed to tell them, not keep it secret. It was just so hard with them 'traveling' all the time and me not wanting them to butt in and take over your house and ruin the thing with mother."
"I know Anthony, don't worry. No matter what happens, you will have me, this is our house and we will always have each other and our children. I love you." said Jeannie as she looked into his eyes and grabbed his hand.
"I love you too Jeannie. Now make sure our little angel is ready to meet her grandparents and let us go downstairs"

Anthony led the way down the stairs and half way down he told Jeannie to wait till he told her to come over. He then went on down to his parents, “Mom and dad, well I have that surprise for you. I would have told you earlier but you were traveling and I could not get a hold of you and I had to tell you this in person, it is a really big surprise” he said nervously.
“Anthony, son, what are you getting at?” asked his father impatiently.

Anthony then looked over at Jeannie and motioned for her to come over. “Meet my wife, Jeannie and our week-old daughter Jeannie Ameera.

The look on the elder Nelsons face was that of utter disbelief, hurt, and excitement all at once.

“Anthony” began his mother, “ I am very disappointed that you did not even write us about it, it hurts that you pushed out of your life, and all for a woman that does not take care of you!”

“Mother” began Anthony, “please do not talk about my wife that way! We love each other and our daughter very much. My wife not only takes care of this whoel house but cooks meals and takes care of an infant all at the same time! That and she makes enough time for me. Now mother, saying that, I don’t want to hear you say anything about her not doing enough!”

“Anthony” said mother “you are an astronaut, how do you expect to devote a reasonable amount of time to this woman and the child? Anthony, don’t forget that there are other women that were not your housekeepers!”
With that, tears formed in Jeannie’s eyes and she calmly walked to her bedroom while letting the tears fall. When she got into the bedroom, she laid Little Jeannie in her bassinet and laid down on the bed weeping. “I do not know why she dislikes me so” thought Jeannie, “whatever did I do?”

Anthony noticed how Jeannie reacted to his mother’s comment and automaticall felt sympathy for his wife and anger at his mother, “how dare she treat Jeannie like that? And all his father did was just stand there not stopping her!” he thought.
“You know what mother?” Anthony said “maybe it would be best if you just left. I will not tolerate Jeannie being treated that way. We apologized for not telling you sooner but that is no reason to treat my wife like that and you never even looked at your own granddaughter! You are so selfish sometimes! Now, I am going to go an console my poor upset and hurt wife and then we are going to host our Christmas party and you are not going to mess it up. We already had to postpone it once when Jeannie went into labor last week. When Jeannie and I come out, I expect you to be gone. Goodbye mother and father.”

Anthony then briskly walked into the bedroom and calmly shut the door. He then laid down on the bed next to his wife and hugged her to him while telling her “everything is ok now. I told them to leave. I will not allow anyone to treat you that way. You are a wonderful woman and there is nothing about you that I don’t love. You are everything to me.”

“Oh Anthony, I love you. I just hope your mother does not hate me forever. I do not know what I did wrong.”

“Darling, you did nothing wrong. My mother, I just don’t know what her problem is. Just forget about her we are going to have fun tonight with our friends and our daughter will be the hit of the party. Then, next week we will celebrate our first Christmas together as a family.”

Jeannie smiled then, kissed her husband passionately, and got up to go freshen up in the bathroom. Meanwhile, Anthony got up, walked over to the pink satin bassinet and picked up his daughter, sat down in the rocking chair and just stared at the tiny face. He couldn’t believe at how far he and Jeannie had come and how much was in store for them, he felt he was the luckiest man on earth to have a beautiful wife and child.

When Jeannie finished, she picked up her daughter from Major Nelson and carried her to the living room, Anthony followed closely behind.

An hour later, all the guests had arrived including Mrs. Jeannie, who had become really close with Anthony and had officially accepted him into her close family, especially after when he told her about the incident earlier with his parents. “Anthony” said mama “do not worry about your parents. They obviously do not understand things like love and common sense. Do me a favor though, next time they treat my precious daughter like that, summon me and I will deal with them?”
“Ok mama, you have a deal.” Anthony said as he hugged his mother-in-law. "And Anthony, I know the truth about your marriage with Jeannie. I just had to find a way for you two to be happy." "Thank you mama, I am not mad, I am glad you did. We owe alot to you." he said as he hugged her again and gave her a kiss on the cheek like a good son-in-law.

Baby Jeannie was definitely the biggest star of the party, no one could stay away from her for long. The Bellows bought her a beautiful pink dress besides another ton of clothes and Roger brought a whole sack of gifts for little Jeannie. The Schaeffer’s bought her a giant astronaut bear and an ornament that read Air Force Baby, Jeannie Ameera Nelson 1969.

Later on as Jeannie and mama were getting Baby Jeannie ready for bed, Mama spilled the beans and let Jeannie know that she knew all about her and Anthony the entire time. “Jeannie, I decided to play along because it seemed to be the only way to move you two along. You obviously were head over heels in love with each other and miserable because you both never could admit it, you were too afraid of what could happen. You see, everything worked out for the best. Please do not be mad daughter”

“Mama I am not mad, I am actually quite relieved.”
“Oh and Jeannie, I want to talk to you about your powers. I do not think it would be a good idea to be an immortal Jeannie anymore. I know you want your powers and so I talked to Hajji. He agreed to let you have your powers, but not your immortality. You will be susceptible to all the human diseases, pain, etc.”

“Mama, this is the greatest gift you have ever given me. Thank you so much! Can I have my powers back now?”
“Yes daughter, you may,” said mama as she summoned Hajji.
When Hajji appeared, he looked at the sleeping infant and smiled. “Jeannie, your daughter is beautiful. Someday she could make me proud, if she inherits any traits, which I know you and Anthony must be aware of when I sent you that book on the care of half genie-half human babies.”

“Yes Hajji, we got it and talked it over. Anthony understands and is fine if Baby Jeannie becomes a genie herself but hopes that her powers will be under control as long as she is young.”
“Jeannie my dear, do not worry, you have always been one of my favorites and your daughter will receive the best help. Now, for those powers you wish to receive back, I understand that I am only giving you your powers, not immortality.”
“that is right” said Jeannie “I wish to grow old with my husband”
“As you wish Jeannie,” said Hajji as he acted upon that wish. As he did this, Jeannie sat down due to the fact it made her dizzy.

“Well Jeannie, I must go now, but take care and I will visit soon!” Hajji said as he left.

After Jeannie thanked him and he really left, Jeannie kissed her daughter’s forehead and turned the lights off, then walked back to the party with her mother. Going back down, Jeannie told her that she was going to surprise Anthony with the news about her powers and mortality for Christmas. She knew he would be delighted that they could grow old together.

When Jeannie got back downstairs, Anthony came up form behind her and gave her a big hug, a kiss, and an “I love you”.
“I love you too Anthony” Jeannie said as mama was watching and smiling.

Later, when the party was over and everyone had gone home, Jeannie and Tony collapsed into bed exhausted.

The next morning they decided to stay in all day because they had been so busy over the last week and just needed a day of rest and relaxation. It was a relaxing day, they slept in, played with the baby, watched a movie on TV, and sat and talked especially about mama's cunning way of getting them together, and ordered dinner to be delivered. Anthony wished he had more days like that.

The next few days were busy ones for the Nelsons as they prepared for Christmas and mama came back for a few days to spend Christmas. On the afternoon of the 24th, Jeannie was cooking a Christmas Eve dinner by hand with the help of her mother when Anthony came home. To help out Jeannie, he decided to clean house and take care of the baby. “Thank you Anthony” said Jeannie as she gave him a kiss.

That evening, the Nelsons hosted a small dinner for the Bellows, Roger, and mama. At around six o’clock, Roger came in dressed as Santa for Baby Jeannie, even though she was too little to even know what was going on, Major Nelson and Dr. Bellows laughed at how silly Roger looked in his Santa Claus suit. They sang Christmas carols and after everyone (except mama) had left, Jeannie and Anthony went upstairs to tuck the baby in bed. While they were tucking the baby in bed by nursing her, and rocking her in the chair while singing her a lullaby, mama peaked in at them and thought to herself "this is a family that will survive the times, no matter what. I am so grateful that my daughter has such a wonderful life. Thank you God"

The next morning mama made breakfast and the family opened the pile of gifts underneath the tree. Anthony got Jeannie a real diamond ring “I got you this ring with our initials in it because I never really got you the chance before and I love you.” Jeannie loved it and she also loved the necklace she received with Baby Jeannie’s birthstone. Jeannie told Anthony that even though she got her powers back, she asked Hajji to make her immortal so she could grow old with him and devote her life to only him. Anthony starts to tear up when she told him this because that was his dream, to have Jeannie grow old with him. He said “Jeannie that is the best Christmas present ever!”

Anthony and Jeannie got mama a photo of the family and ring with her children’s birthstones on them and Baby Jeannie’s. Mama gave the family a new set of dishes and for Baby Jeannie, a savings bond for $100.00, and another gift for the whole family, the statement of the contractor who would come in March to start on the addition to the house. It was a Christmas to remember, especially when they were getting dressed later in the day after presents (well for Jeannie and Tony anyway)

Later that day, after an early dinner, Anthony thought it would be great if everyone got in the car and drove around looking at all the Christmas decorations. They all agreed. They drove around for about 45 minutes and Baby Jeannie fell asleep during the ride.
When they got home, mama said she would make them dessert for later that night and Jeannie and Anthony went upstairs to feed and change the baby. While he couple was upstairs, the doorbell rang so mama went and answered it.
”Hello, is my son home?’ asked the man.
“Are you Anthony’s parents?” asked mama.
“Why yes we are, and who are you?” said Anthony’s mother

"Well, I am Jeannie's mother, you know Jeannie? Anthony's wife, you insulted her and reduced her to tears and left her confused as to why you do not like her! What do you want with my family you vixen?" said Mama
"I have come to talk to Anthony about this situation, it needs to be discussed and I want to do it now. Where is my son?
"My daughter and son-in-law are upstairs putting their daughter to bed, come in and sit down and you can wait for them to finish."
"Thank you, we will" and with that, the elder Nelsons walked in and sat down on the couch.
About 10 minutes later, Jeannie and Tony came down quietly as to not wake the baby, when they looked over at the couch and were quite suprised?
"Mother, father, what are you doing here?" Tony said as he wrapped his arm around Jeannie and pulled her closer to him as to protect her. This gesture made Mama smile.
"Anthony, we have come to tell you that you have hurt us greatly, especially when you kicked us out last week and we have taken you out of our will."
