I was wondering are there any Eric Idle fans on the board because I first loved him & Monty Python when Eric starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in Around the World in 80 Days" for NBC in 1989 mini-series remake of the David Niven Oscar winning movie. I wished I could had seen the short-lived Nearly Departed, also in 1989. Please let me know if there are any Idlefans out there, please!!!!    :happyface

I always liked Michael and Graham best in Monty Python, but Eric's a funny guy - and a very talented musician and song writer. I love the Medical Love Song, which he wrote with Graham Chapman. It's so damn catchy! Eric seems a pretty cool guy, too. In the old days, before PythOnline got invaded by morons, he used to hang out there and chat with fans a lot of the time. The two Terries and Mrs Cleese used to drop by sometimes too, but Eric was there pretty much every day. Really nice guy. :)

Being a Beatles fan, I loved his movie "The Rutles." I thought it was so cleaver and funny, and it even had a Beatle in the movie. Great talent.

The Rutles are playing at the Albert Hall in a couple of weeks for Roger Daltrey's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs. I wonder if Eric will be over here playing with them?

Eric has always been my favorite. I have seen him live twice in San Francisco too and have to say I hope he comes back to do more.
Also here is a little tidbit he was talking about and sang a song from during his last show. Monty Python is putting together a musical of Search for the Holly Grail.
That show was Last December 10th and he said then he thought it might be able to start touring spring 2005. I keep looking but haven't seen anything else yet.

I always felt that Eric was only funny during Holidays that didn't involve politics or animals, and often quite morose otherwise. Still, a decent enough guy, if you go for that sort of thing....

Shelby, did you have to ask?

Always was my favorite. Always will be. And he's such a sweetie. I was so tongue-tied when I met him that my mom had to do the talking for me. But he just grinned, shook my hand, wished me a happy birthday, and I gushed out "I love you!" He said I was sweet :D

Well I started liking him since he was in Around the World in 80 Days as well as also I got that as well as thirty-nine Flying Circus shows and also got the rarely seen and mentioned four shows out of six Nearly Departed with him in the lead. Also got the Meaning of Life.

I loved Nearly Departed. Its to bad it didn't last very long. I also liked his guest starring roles on 3rd Rock From The Sun.

If "Spamalot" comes to your city, go see it. Idle himself isn't in it, but it's a MUST for Pythonistas.
