What do you think of movies like Apollo 13 and Beauty and The Beast being formatted to 70mm IMAX film.

I work for Technicolor here in Montreal, and I don't like it at all. These movies are basically Pan & Scanned from their original widescreen ratio.. Although, the surround sound is great (it's in a 25 channel surround sound), I think they should leave them in there original format.

...or, they could just present them in OAR on the IMAX. I wouldn't mind watching a movie on the IMAX where they didn't use the entire screen.

I loved seeing Beauty and the Beast on IMAX - it was fantastic. You can actually make out so much more details (did you know that the page in Belle's book is actually written in French?) and it was so cute that they added another song. Part of it is, I'll admit, the fact that Disney hasn't rereleased any of their movies to regular theaters in a long time - but it's still fantastic to see on that screen :D
