oh sorry, now that i look at it, my post seemed kinda mean.

lol.. but.. my true opinion: i think people that DONT watch reality tv, underestimate it.... but i think that the quantity of the reality shows is more than the quality. There are way too many reality shows that seem so pointless.

I give all the new ones a chance, and get into about 2-4 of them.

I think it's sad that Reality Shows have come to take so much screen time, though I do enjoy watching them, they take away chances and screen time for real actors and actresses. And let's face it it's hard enough to get work in TV and Movies much less trying to get work when there are less shows to need actors, and writers. Reality shows aren't fabricated, they are real that's what has appealled to so many people, but after a while you just want to see something where you can get that escape from reality. I don't see reality tv sticking around forever because that's why we watch tv, to escape our problems, to escape reality, I dont' think it'll fully take over ever.

I like some reality shows and I think reality shows are okay in small doses but they really do seem to be taking over.

Reality shows may be entertaining but, in general, I think scripted shows take alot more talent to make (as far as acting and storytelling) and are usually of better quality. In general,I find scripted shows more engrossing, more absorbing and with more depth than reality shows. That's just my opinion. I still will watch a reality show if it entertains me or to laugh at the idiots that go on those shows.

I like reality shows, I just wish there weren't so many of them.

Survivor may have set off the current rash of reality shows but I wouldn't say it started reality tv. Star Search and The Real World came long before it did, just to name a few.

Like the Sitcoms were developed in the seventies & eighties along with game shows and the dramas and talk shows in the nineties, it's reality tv for the 21st century. Get used to it!! ;) :) :p
