I don't know about you guys but I like to go to big thrift shops and buy cool clothes there. I have found so many cool things and they are just so cheap. Like jeans and great boots and sweaters. What about you guys?

Heck yeah. Thrift shops are great. I also love vintage stores. Thrift shops have some great records for real cheap.

yeah and books too... they have everything. I also like to refinish furniture and they always have at least one thing that you can fix up.

I like them. I don't buy clothes there though. I mostly like the ones with antiques and stuff like that. I bought some old books and a couple cameras from the 50's at the one by my house.

Yeah they have kick ass clothes. Me and my friend Jessica used to go to Goodwill all the time.

yeah, since my grandmother likes them and likes to torture me, im forced to go w/ her...i dont buy anything though..

Yep the Goodwill is great. Thats where I look for my records.

I got this great vest from the '60s at a vintage store. Yeah it still smells like weed but that wont hurt anything.

I love thrift stores. Because I love all the old stuff like records, cassettes and 8-tracks. By the way, I also love garage sales and flea markets, they have the same thing too.

I can understand how people like to buy nice vintage clothes at a good price, but I personally couldn't wear clothes that have been worn before. Even as a teen, I had to buy my own bowling shoes.
I don't like to borrow or lend clothes to friends although I make exceptions.
Nobody can eat off my plate or sip from my drink either.
It's just the way I am.

I kind of felt that way but I figure I eat off of very used plates at restaurants so what the heck ;)

Those plates have been cleaned and sanitized with scalding hot water as opposed to wearing clothes and shoes that God only knows who wore them.

anyway for those of ys who don't mind being in other peoples clothes. I think it rocks it's not like we are gonna catch aids or some deadly germ from the clothes. They can also be washed in bleach and or hot water with a strong soap.

What's with the eye roll? You posted a poll question, and I gave my opinion. I never said anything about catching aids or deadly germs. Your words, not mine.
I just don't want to wear clothes that were worn by strangers. I'm sure I'm not the only person that feels this way.

That's so true. My cousin used to work at this restaurant (a good quality one) and they never washed the dishes very well. They also used to keep the bread in a drawer for a couple days and serve it like that.

I got 6 records today for 7$. And a book for 50¢.

Yep the place I used to work at didnt wash the dishes very well. Plus the servers smoked back there.

yeah nothing is ever clean. Unless you go to a really fancy restaurant. But even then the bathrooms will be dirty or the won't wash their hands...

Well then apparently you find me ridiculous too. I'm sorry, but that's the way I am. I'll let people eat/drink from me occasionally, but even that gets to me after a while. I really don't appreciate other people's saliva in my food, on my fork, or floating around in my drink, thanks. That's how I've caught Mono four times in the past.

And about the clothes, well, there's no explination for me. I just don't like it. It bugs me even trying on clothes in the store.

I don't shop there, but we have one here. The Salvation Army.

i dont even know what a thrift shop is. but we have a grocery store called thriftee :D

Thrift shops are where you can find some of the best stuff, and I love 'em!

well im glad there are peeps here that like thrift shops :)

We have Goodwill. Salvation Army, Blind Council stores. A lot of it is garbage, but there is also some great finds.

I've never been to a thrift store, but I have wanted to go to one to look around. I agree with you, though, Janice. I would have a hard time wearing clothes that I didnt know who they came from. I would have to scald them with boiling hot water and soap myself before I'd wear them. It's just the thought of where they've been that would bother me. I totally see where you're coming from.

I love Thirfts shops..you always find the coolest stuff, honestly I buy like 90% of my clothes at Thirts/Resale shops and a large collection of very cute vintage clothes

sometimes you find really great deals...
like the other day I was thrift shoping with my mom in law and she found some brand new boots from Neiman Marcus for only $5 :eek: they were brand new and only $5 did I say that already... :D:D:D I got a cool sweater.
