Which boss of Balki/Larry's, did you either like or dislike the most? Were these two their only two bosses? Twinkietoes could be funny sometimes, because he was such a grouch, despite is bitterness to Balki/Larry. Of course so was Gorpley.

I liked both of them, even though they were mean. I loved the Christmas episode where Balki invited Gorpley to their Christmas party and gave him the present. It was so sweet.

Mr. Twinkicetti was funny sometimes, but one episode I always seem to remember is the one with the Christmas party, when Larry picked up Mr. Gorpley and carried him away, and Gorpley asked Larry what he was doing and Larry replied, "I'm taking out the trash!" Another quote that seem to remember for some reason is from the episode when Balki wanted a raise and Mr. Gorpley gave Balki his pay check and he said "Here's your paycheck Bartokamose, hurry up and take it before I spend it on a pack of gum!" But overall, I think Twinkicetti was the meaner of the two.

The guy who plays Gropley as also had roles on "ER, Picket Fences, the recent sitcom Marry To The Kellys, Live Wire, Growing Pains" His name is Sam Anderson, one of those many actors who's name you might not know but face looks familiar type of actors who has had over forty movies and over 200 tv guest appearances. He also acts on theatre and broadway!!

Some other bosses besides Mr. Twinkacetti and Mr. Gorpley are Mr. Burns and Mr. Wainwright. Mr. Burns the editor was Larry's direct superior when they first got to the Chronicle; only Balki worked for Gorpley. Mr. Wainwright was publisher of the paper, and pretty much everyone worked for him. Mr. Burns wasn't on very long at all though, and soon just Wainwright and Gorpley were seen.

I suppose my favorite out of the bosses would have to be Mr. Gorpley, because all in all, he contributed much more to the show than the others. He would actually hang out with Larry and Balki and their friends from time to time. His sarcastic jokes were usually pretty funny, and it was funny seeing him be a victim.

I've always liked the eps set at the paper better than the early ones at the store. Plus, I've always liked Sam Anderson (Gorpley) from his turn as Donna's father in La Bamba to his hysterical, deadpan role as the FBI agent in the "Lucky Suit" ep of ELR. So I'm going to vote for Gorpley!!

Ernie Sabella (Twinkie) is a funny guy (that's him on the new Mastercard ad as the zookeeper by the way) but I am a big Gorpley fan. First of all I too prefer the Chicago Chronicle setting, the comic possibilities and results were much greater. Second, Sam Anderson as Gorpley was so wonderfully sarcastic and perhaps also a little self-loathing (even his wive(s?) had divorced him).

He's mean but I always laugh somehow.

Also he had a great line in "Little Apartment of Horrors"
"I feel great...I think I'll fire someone!"

While I liked the boys working at the newspaper better, I really missed Mr. Twinkacetti -- he was such a funny character.

Gee, that's a toughie. I definitely remember Gorpley from when I watched the show when it was on ABC. I've have just started watching the Twinkacetti episodes recently. I guess I'd say that it's a toss-up.

I thought Twinkie was the bigger jerk than Gorpley and was so hilarious in how he always tried to sneak out to play poker behind his wife's back.

But what sells me on Gorpley is how he totally trashed Larry and Balki in his account of Mad Dog's break-in in Eyewitless Reports. That's what sold me on Gorpley.

"Mr. Gorpley, welcome to our bingy-bingy! You're just in time for dinner. I hope you like bingy-bingy. After dinner, we're going to sit in front of the bingy-bingy and sing bingy-bingy."

I'm watching the first couple of seasons again, and I'm going to revise my original opinion. At least Gorpley wasn't also their landlord, like Twinkie!!
