Janice has volunteered to help moderate the Chit Chat board. She will be fair, mature, and impartial. I hope many of you can learn from the examples she sets. It's still important that you use the report this post to the moderator feature as everything can't be read.

Let's bring back Chit Chat the way it once was, a new era has begun!

I'm late to the party. Now that the fairy dust has dissipated, and the glamor of the new appointment has turned to tiptoeing through the tulips, I hope congratulations are still in order. Your valor is commendable Janice. Taking on this ever so fun but sometimes rowdy and partly incorrigible crowd will be either fun for you or... something that you might not have imagined. You will need the :whip. :)

This reminds me of what Cross Country (distance running) coaches say to their runners at the starting line. As distance runners know, it's kind of an inside joke. "Hurry back and have fun." Anyone who has ever run a distance race knows that it can be one tough way to 'have fun'. :bonk:

I would just like to take a moment to say thank you to Janice for the job she has done moderating Chit Chat, I think there have been far fewer problems over the last 6 months or so then there were last year. I hope it is a friendlier place. There will be always a few trolls to spoil the fun though, we do the best that we can. She makes things a lot easier for me.

She is fair and impartial, she's not rude, she communicates with people privately if they are causing problems, and she's everything I would want in a moderator.

There are many people I could have offered the Chit Chat board moderator job to, I chose her because I trusted her judgment and maturity.

If you any of you have any problems with her moderating, please contact me privately to discuss it and don't take it to the boards. There have been too many wisecracks posted on the board. She doesn't need to be second guessed when she gives a warning. Please treat her with respect as a moderator. Thank you.

She has been. This post was originally started in October of 2003. She's been a moderator since then, TJ stuck this to thank her for her EXCELLENT work.
