Real-life rock singer Suzi Quatro portrayed Leather Tuscadero in seven episodes and was offered a spinoff show. But she turned it down because she didn't want to be typecast. If the spinoff did occur, would it be in the same category with Laverne and Shirley or Joanie Loves Chachi, which was less successful.
BTW, I remember the Happy Days episode where Leather and the Suedes sang Devil Gate Drive, a song that was recorded by Quatro.

Welcome howilu! I didn't know Suzie was offered a spinoff. It might have been in the same category as L&S. I don't know if would have last though.

According to Rolling Stone's book of rock lists, the song "Devil Gate Drive" by Suzi Quatro was a number one hit in England where she was, & still is I think, a big star. That was in 1974. It never made the US charts though.

I went to Australia and found a CD of hers called The Most of Suzi Quatro. 20 songs including Can The Can, Daytona Demon, and Devil Gate Drive.

Sounds like a bad idea to me - I'd rather see Ralph loves Potsie.
Did they ever say what they were thinkin of calling the potential spin-off? "Leather & the Suedes", "The Many Lives of Leather Tuscadero", "Growing Pains" ???
