"Ward, you were a little hard on the beaver last night"

Can anyone tell me if that's the actual quote from the tv show and if it is, which episode it came out of and what the context of the conversation was? I've heard people joking around with this for years but I've never actually heard it on any of the shows, so I was just wondering if it's an urban legend of sorts. Thanks! =D

I never heard it on the show.

i think one time i heard "ward you were a little hard on the beaver" but i don't recall the funny part, last night...another classic "have you seen the beaver?"

I don't think that EXACT quote is in any episode.

However, in the "Merchant Marine" episode, June says something very similar, but with regard to WALLY, not Beaver.

"Ward, I think you were a little rough on Wally." (Or something very similar.)

Ward follows (angrily) with: "Well I had to be firm with him dear. He's old enough not to pull this kind of thing."

I heard it last week. I don't know the episode but they were standing near the kitchen door when she said it.

On the episode where Eddie cheats on the history test, Eddie asks Wally if he wants to go upstairs and "mess around".

a while back somebody mentioned that beaver said "ahh the beaver special..its like eating a good friend" i cracked up when i heard that the other day :lol:

:lol: Yeah I really enjoy some of the sayings back then. You know those writers probably never thought that years later there would be a bunch of perverts taking their words completely out of context!:lol: :lol:

It sure was a different world back then. I can't believe how things have changed through the years. Wow!

Yeah!,it's funny how so many words and phrases of yesterday are used in a different context today.
