We experimented allowing images in signatures again for the past few weeks on the new server, and while most people followed the rules (thank you), we can't sacrifice the speed of the boards and sites for the sake of them. They were a luxury feature, not a necessity. With the upcoming launch of the photo galleries on August 1st, the server simply wouldn't be able to handle all the traffic.
