I saw this on Entertainment Tonight that Nancy was one of the 3 finalists to get the part that eventually went to Courteney Cox.

Makes me wonder how much different Friends and Nancy would've been had she gotten this part.

Thats very interesting and think of the Division if Nancy had of gotten that part on Friends...Jinny wouldn't exist the same way....

I didn't know that either, that would have made Friends really interesting having Nancy in it for sure.

Wow, I'm a "Friends" fanatic---have been since day 1 in 1994---but never read or heard this!

I love Nancy on FOL, but I also love Courtney on "Friends"---after comin' to know Mon for 9 years, it's just hard to imagine anyone else in her role, or any of the others! lol

I'm not sayin' Nancy wouldn't have been good as her, it's just strange to think of, say, "someone else playin' your friend" that you've known for 9 years, lol. :p

But yeah, Jo and Monica are definitely worlds apart...can you imagine Nancy obsessin' over neurotic cleanliness and organization, or standin' in a kitchen frantically preparin' a gourmet meal? lol Interesting...

yep, I love Courteney also. But it is kinda funny thinking "what if" after finding this out. You're from KY too? what part? Louisville here

I was reading that today in Newsweek magazine I had know idea she had auditioned for Monica. I just can't see Nancy playing Monica. That lady from "King of Queens" also auditioned for the Monica part.

Wow I didn't know that.

Even though I like Courtney as Monica it would of been cool to have Nancy be Monica she would of been on another NBC show that lasted 9 seasons.

I can't picture her as any of 'em...that's why I was so surprised when I read in my "Friends" book years ago that Leah'd auditioned. She's just too...New York, and "dark", if that makes sense, lol.

Not a bad thing either, just not like any of the "Friends" characters.

Heh...I know I never post here any more but *shrugs*...that would have been hysterical if she played that part...b/c my friend Jessica always makes fun of me and my Nancy obsession. And I always make fun of her and her Friends obsession. And I personally don't like Friends very much and she's always trying to get me to watch it. How weird would that be if Nancy was on it...wow...

No, but from the episodes I've seen I think Nancy was better off not getting that part and doing The Division instead, b/c I couldn't picture Nancy playing that part...and besides, Courtney's great at that role.

I couldn't see Leah Rimini in Lisa Kudrow's shoes at all! Nor could I see Nancy as Monica. Not that I don't like them, but it sure would be strange. Having them on the show would make things much different, I think.. and would've been interesting to see.

Yeah same here. Im sorta glad NMK didnt get the part. She probally wouldnt have been in all those other Lifetime Movies and she wouldnt have been on The Division. So all in all, it worked out for the both NMK and Courtney Cox.

Ya know, when I heard Lisa talk, in 02', I think someone asked her about other roles or something, and she said that she was asked to audition for a part on friends...a character that was LIKE Rachael, but it wasn't Rachael, yet, I guess. I dunno. I don't think she even auditioned. I can't really remember. It was a long time ago.

Thats pretty cool. I dont watch Friends but still thats pretty cool.

mine too. i became obsessed with nancy once division started, and if she had gotten picked for monica (trying to picture her kissing chandler...ummmm....no.) well, i guess i wouldn't be so obsessed.
