It's interesting that you say that because it is Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King's It. He was played by Tim Curry under heavy makeup. Pennwise hangs out in Derry, Maine (a ficticous town), mostly in the sewer and he kills kids. I've read the book and I've seen the movie.

Ditto, Stand by Me is one of the best Stephen King movies. Also "Shawshank Redemtion" (SP?) is a great movie. Books are always better but the short story "The Bodie" (In which "Stand by Me" was based) was really good. Cujo also a good movie/book!
