Most of my work with this ethic of love has been in the daily life of my neighborhood, community, household, and workplace. In the shared decisionmaking and collaboration of this workplace, conflicts are inevitable and must be continually worked through. Because of my coworkers' commitments to nonviolence, we work hard to respect our differences.
The fact that most of us are not normally confronted with physical violence pushes us to ask probing questions about the violence that keeps such prosperity in place. In various and differing ways, my coworkers choose to personally disengage from structures of economic, social, and ecological violence.
