Sadly, I remember everyone of those shows and pretty much loved everyone of them. Except Gullah Gullah Island I'd only watch that long enough for the theme song. It was a cool theme song, okay. Isn't some of the old game shows still being play on Nick GAS?
They should start releasing some of those shows on vhs or dvd. That would be nice since we never get to see them anymore.

AllIWantIsYourClutch 09-28-2003, 11:44 AM Okay now I need a life. I've started downloading theme songs. Help me.

I used to love Legends, but when I saw it on Nick Gas recently I was like what did I ever see in this show? It was still fun to watch though it just seemed so corny, now.
David 09-28-2003, 01:45 PM lol. I always wondered how the people are supposed to actually know how to get through that maze thing... it looks tough.

Well, you think they would practice or tell them how before the actual airing of the show, but have you watched those kids go through the maze? Now, either they're good actors or they really didn't know what they were doing. And it was always fun to watch them get caught by one of those Temple Guard dudes.
Mr. Stefani 09-28-2003, 02:30 PM Salute your shorts..i watched that show the other night when i didnt feel like going to school.

Krisalicious 09-28-2003, 03:33 PM  I was just talking about old Nick shows last night with Kaitlyn, Sean, and Lynn. :D
Anyway, old Nick is GREAT. If those shows were still on, I don't care, I'd still be watching even if no one else my age would.
Yesterday Kaitlyn told me Doug is still on Nick in the morning...AHH! DOUG. I love Doug....Disney ruined that show. It was so great when it was on Nick. I've seen all the episodes and can quote things from most of them. How sad.
When I was about 5 or 6, I'd watch Guts/Global Guts/Legends of the Hidden Temple and think "Oh, when I'm older, I want to go on these shows!" Well...now I'm 14 and these shows are gone. :(

Lol I thought it looked like fun. Especially putting together the silver monkey...
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 09-28-2003, 03:38 PM I remember all of those shows. They were the best lol. I used to love Are you Afraid of the Dark, I miss that show so much. With the exception of like two shows, Nick now is just throwup. :)

I didn't really like that show, but there was one episode that scared me for days. THIS ONE:
31. The Tale of the Doll Maker
gs: Eve Crawford (Aunt Sally) Maia Filar (Melissa) Sam Stone (Uncle Pete) Amanda Walsh (Susan)
A young girl goes to the countryside to spend a summer with her best friend but she discovers that her friend is missing. She soon discovers that a mysterious doll house in the attic is responsible for her friend's disappearance.
b: 05-Feb-1994 pc: 16644 w: David Preston d: David Winning
NOTE: This story was told by Betty Ann.
Amanda Walsh is probably best known to Canadian fans as one of the hosts on Much Music
Oh god, that made me afraid to play with dolls. lol...but really, that one part where Melissa finally saw Susan, except then, she was a doll. And then her hand broke off or something. At the time, I was five and I had a doll house too, but I didn't touch it for days.

 That was my favorite one, lol, I remember I always wanted that one to come on. I really was obsessed with that show when I was around 8. I wonder if it'd seem really stupid now.
The ones that scared me were any to do with vampires, I seriously used to put a blanket around my neck at night.
Krisalicious 09-28-2003, 04:03 PM Is Kenan and Kel still on? I remember a little while ago it was on at Sundays at 6...I love that show.

the weirdest thing is.... I;ve done some Classic Nick research and its really interesting.
In 1996-1998 on Saturday when.. Guts, Legends, Clarissa, slaute, Hey dude, My brother and me, Pete and Pete.... were aired...
ALMOST every single on of them was actually already cancelled!! Because every oen of those shows were made and cancelled between 1989-1993! (Legends was cancelled in 1995, and My Bro and Me was cancelled in 1994).
So thats why I was like "why am i not getting any new episodes!!!"
lol. So even if I did want to go on the game shows...... iwouldnt be able to, because none of them were current 'cept Figure It Out with Summer Sanders.

Isn't this sad..I remember those episodes lol.
I don't really remember the Romeo and Juliet one you're talking about, but there is one where Alfie (the older brother) gets the part of Robin Hood in the play and refuses to do it because he has to wear tights. The one where Goo gets hit in the head is the one where he pretends to have amnesia and then he and Melanie (the sister) pretend that they're going out with each other. Really, they're getting together because they're planning Alfie a surprise party...or at least that's what I can remember. And the one where Dee Dee (the younger brother) is going to get beat up by the girls is the one where Dee Dee comes home afraid because of a bully at school, so Alfie and Goo teach him how to fight. Then, when Alfie and Goo finally meet the bully, it turns out to be a girl named Lou (I think?). Then Alfie and Goo try to defend Dee Dee but Lou gets her sisters to help and they beat up Alfie and Goo......
Yeah I love this show too. I mean it was kind of corny but I thought it was pretty funny. Dee Dee's hair cut..."There's no Z in Dee Dee!" lol..I miss this show.

Of course you don't remember it lol, because it was Robin Hood. See, I knew it was some sort of play from that time *smacks self in the head* lol I remember the other ones you're talking about too. Is the suprise party one where a friends mother kept saying "Don't hold your breath" or something like that? My sister and I still say that
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 10-02-2003, 04:42 PM I really want to watch "Are You Afraid of the Dark" now lol. I know it wouldn't scare me now, but it'd still be pretty freaking entertaining. :D
eps I remember (not the names of the eps, but something that had to do with it I guess:
-Dollhouse one
-this one with these aliens who owned a factory or something...somethingl like that lol
-one with these alien spiders
-one where this lady was making all of these girls ugly so she could take their "pretty" from them
-one with these vampires, and the son was like the head vampire
-one where this vampire came out of the movie screen
-one that had this room where you'd get threatened with your greatest fear or something
-one with these wolves or something...but they were people I think?
-one where Melissa Joan Hart guest starred, something about a boy who froze to death "I'm cold" lol, my friends and I always used to say that
-something to do with this camera that made bad things happen
Ugh, tons of others but I don't feel like thinking that far back because it's depressing me. This show needs to freaking come back on :wallbang
Oh, and I also remember this one dude...they always said his name wrong and he always corrected him. He owned this shop that had things in it that started a lot of the problems. He was in a lot of the episodes.

I prefer the old Midnight Society to the newer group. I remember some of the ones you listed.
Dollhouse one
I have this on tape somewhere. I remember watching it awhile back after I found it. I'm gonna have to look for it again.
one where this lady was making all of these girls ugly so she could take their "pretty" from them
I remember one of the outfits from this episode, I think it was green. Good episode, though.
one with these vampires, and the son was like the head vampire
At the end, they show him in the coffin and he shows his fangs. And during the episode his parents would say they were collecting blood for the blood bank.
one where this vampire came out of the movie screen
I think everyone liked this episode. It was one of the best.
one that had this room where you'd get threatened with your greatest fear or something
I remember this one because it has a very young Neve Campbell in it. Her fear was being in closed spaces and the walls would begin to move in on her. I think I have this one on tape too.
one where Melissa Joan Hart guest starred, something about a boy who froze to death "I'm cold" lol, my friends and I always used to say that
I have this one too. I found it awhile back when I was going through all of my unmarked tapes. That's funny you said that about "I'm cold" because anytime I'd hear someone say that I would think of this episode.
something to do with this camera that made bad things happen
Okay, the kid who gets the camera in this episode always reminded me of that kid they used on Bewitched when Endora turned Dick Sargents Darrin into a little boy in Out of the Mouths of Babes. Anyway, he just reminds me of him. Back to the episode, he would take pictures of things, for instance like a window. When he looked at the photo of the window it would tell the future of what will happen and then a few minutes later the window would be broken like it was in the photo. Also, the photo would have these little gremlins on them.
I also remember the one where the Prom girl dies in a car accident before she got to the prom and so she came back and got these two guys to help her finally get peace. I have that on tape.
My absolute favorite episode, which is called 'The Tale of the Dream Girl.' I have this on tape somewhere too and it's about this guy, who's actually dead, but only his sister can see him. He and his girlfriend were in his car when it stalled on the tracks they both got out, but his girlfriend went back because she forgot her ring and he went back to help her and thats when the train came and killed them. So he's thinking he's still alive and his girlfriend, but he doesn't remember her, is telling him that it's time to come home, meaning she wants him to go with her to the otherside. Yeah, thats basically it, but one of my faves.
Oh and one more, 'The Tale of Watcher's Woods.' Who doesn't remember this episode? It has Jewel Staite in it and the 3 old ladies and their whistles who got lost in the woods years before.

lol I know someone said "Dont hold your breath" a lot.
But I remember the surprise party one. Isnt it the one where they put a surprise party for Alfie for making the basketball team, but Alfie didnt because he was a ball hog.
I also remember Goo Punch. I think it was Juicy Juice
David 10-02-2003, 05:14 PM I also remember one where they make a solar system out of candy.
I also liked the boy's room. It was so lively, I guess...

On some SYS sites, more than 3 people have claimed to have seen Telly walk topless in the background of one episode.

Thanks for the descriptions, lol, I totally forgot them all.
I also liked the older Midnight Society better. All I remember is the dude with glasses, and some other girl who wore a bandana a lot (I think).
Anyway, if they ever decide to bring "Are You Afraid of the Dark" I'll freaking kill someone if they do to it what they did to "All That" by making a whole new younger cast. I will freaking kill.
David 10-02-2003, 08:16 PM That would suck!
Has the actual midnight society ppl ever been in the actual story?

I remember some of the episodes too. Remember Goo? I remember that episode with Goo Juice.
- sings - Goo punch! Goo punch! Goo: Everybody! Goo punch! lol It was so stupid, but I liked it.
And I remember Watcher's Woods! The old women scared me...and how the forrest was an everlasting loop for them, lol. That was a good one. My favorite one, though, was the one where this one girl stumbles into this old warehouse, and sees like all these kids from different parfts of the world. They're like locked up in some jail, because these people were teleporting them to this factory. So when they're sitting in this cell, the girl eats a candy wrapper or something, and then they realize they can use the mirror to go between the laser bars. Do you remember this one at all? lol
Also, Cutter's treasure was a good one too. The one with Andrew Keegan, I think. And that big, bald pirtae with the one eye, while his other eye had some skin over it. He really scared me when I was younger, because I had this dream where his ship docks in my backyard and he captures me, even though I don't live anywhere near water. I'm like in the middle of Chicago, lol.
Ahh, Nick needs to put this show back on. The older episodes, that is. It's too good to just rot away in the vaults.

In the bright sunny weather
Let's all go to Gullah Gullah Island (Gullah Gullah!)
Lots to see and to do there
All we need now that you there
Let's all go to Gullah Gullah Island (Gullah Gullah! Binyah Binyah!)
Just take your foot in your hand
That means hurry up
Don't miss the flip things that we plan
So come and let's play together
In the bright sunny weather
Let's all go to Gullah Gullah Island
Gullah Gullah Island... Gullah Gullah Island
How pathetic... about 5 years later and I STILL know the theme song!!
David 10-08-2003, 05:17 PM Oh thanks for moving this thread over here :), whoever did it.

I loved that show too. Alasdair was my favorite. He was so cute.
Dean Winchester 10-08-2003, 08:34 PM it's neat to see how many of the old Nick personalities have made names from themselves
Michelle Trachtenberg went on to play Buffy's sister for 3 seasons
Amanda Bynes now has a sitcom and she was in a hit movie earlier this year
Mike O'Malley's done several sitcoms since leaving Nick, and Yes Dear is a hit
Melissa Joan Hart did Sabrina for 7 years
there's some others who've been in movies and shows since their days as Nick personalities, but those were the most famous ones I know of
David 10-08-2003, 09:24 PM Ashlee (A TV People) told me that Kenan is on SNL

I've never seen that show..it was before my time I guess. But from what I heard from my older brother, it was kind of like All That except kind of different..I dunno. What kind of sketches did You Can't Do That on Television have?
The funniest part about this show was that whenever someone on the show said "I don't know" they would get green slime dumped on them. And when they said water, then water would splash on them. (I think?) So different from anything else at the time.
As for sketches, well lets see....I haven't seen this show in forever so my memory is a little sketchy (heh). And I haven't seen All That so I don't know how it compares. I don't think the show was all sketches because there was usually one story arc per episode and the characters were always the same. Like I said, I don't remember it that well. Some recurring sketches or scenes: There was one sketch/bit where the kids are hanging out at the diner with Bart (?I think that was his name). Another where a guy is in front of the firing squad. They always had a sketch where the kids would pop out of the lockers to talk to each other/tell jokes. I wish I could remember more of the details for ya. It was a really funny show.
The other day I was at a friends house and saw an old Double Dare on GAS. Can I just say I laughed so hard because it was so weird to see it again after all these years. So different from what I remembered. The challenges they had to do were so idiotic and they were over in a split second. It seems so corny now. I'm worried that if I were to see "You can't Do That On Television" again, it would ruin my memories of the show. Was it just as corny? Probably.
Dean Winchester 10-10-2003, 02:14 PM who else grew up in the "original" era of Nick?
I notice most people in here grew up on the mid-late 90's era of Nick. Where's those of us who watched Today's Special and You Can't Do That On Television?
David 10-10-2003, 03:11 PM I was a child during the YCDTOTV era, but i was more of a cartoon network person back then. I started watching like.... 1996??...
David 10-12-2003, 09:50 PM today i watched nick gas at my friends house, and i watched
Global Guts, Figure It Out, and Legends.
I loved Guts!

Guts is funny to watch now on Nick Gas because back then Mike O'Malley actually had hair and didn't wear baseball caps all the time, LOL
