Hey guys, how does the Job Switching episode start out? Yeas, I've seen it before more than 2 dozen times, lol, but I've only seen the episode on a video I bought, not on TVLand. And doesn't seem to start off right. It starts off with the audience laughing, and Lucy and Ricky fighting. It's just weird, no other episode has started off like that. Is that the very beginning of it?

I know what you mean. The episode starts out with Ricky comming in the door and then Lucy comes out of the bedroom. I think she goes to give him a hug or something and he says he just came from the bank and she says "well never mind" or something like that. It's cut off on the VHS tape I have too.:(

Oh, well, what's wrong with that then, he enters and confronts her about that check with the note to the teller on it right? They had a big show, so maybe they just hurried to get down to business?

Huh? Whaaat? She's saying hers is edited and she wanted to know what she missed. What do you mean they had a big show???? You've got me all confused.

LOL Claude, I'm not saying how it starts off is bad, I'm just asking if that's how it really started off, and obviously it's not. I guess my video was edited. Because it's starts off with an audience laugh and them arguing and I was just wondering. dang! I wanna see the real beginning now! lol

You're only missing about 15 seconds, if that makes you feel any better. It should be coming up on TVLand soon. You could check TVNow and see.

One of the things that always puzzled me about this episode is: How did Ricky manage to get time off from The Tropicana so quickly in order to stay home to take the role of homemaker? And what was Fred taking time off from....being the apartment manager?

yeah, lol..I have thought about that! Fred doesn't work! lol Not like Ricky..oh wow, watching the furnace pipe and collecting money. haha

Now i'm confused also, i thought you said it started with him walking in and asking her about the note on the check, that would be right, but if it starts with a laugh, that's gotta be missing footage, WHAT WAS THE QUESTION AGAIN? lol!

lol! obviously it is missing footage.. because the one I watched started off with a laugh, and Ricky says, "Every month, every single month your bank account is overdrawn...now what is the reason?!" then Lucy says, "You don't give me enough money." then Ricky, "I don't give you enough money?!" lol and so on..

Yours is edited, but it's not missing that much. Unedited it just starts out with Ricky walking in, angry, and calling to Lucy who comes in the living room, and then he yells at her about her bank account. Where'd you get your copy from? Just curious. :)

Ok, i got it now. He walks in furious, and she comes in from the hallway and says HOW ABOUT A GREAT BIG KISS and sees his angry look and turns back, hence the laugh!

Exac tly, that's what hers is missing. Mine's missing it too.

Oh no, I've seen Job Switching a thousand times, one of the first episodes I've ever seen, and I actually have not watched the whole thing, 15 whole seconds missing! I THINK I'M GONNA DIE!

Seriously though, I won't be able to watch that episode again until I get the whole footage! haha

When i was a teenager watching The Lucy show in the sixties, i would see the Canadian version first, which was always missing a couple of minutes so they could put extra commercials in the show. Then a few days later, i would see the complete US version, sometimes they would elliminate something essential to the set up of jokes, it was very annoying!

hah, that probably sucked..I hate it when that happens..like when I get a video with the full I Love Lucy episodes and already watched it before on TVLand, I realize all they cut out.

Don't even get me started on TV Land, i haven't seen Lucy since she was moved to 11 from 9! I am thinking of having the station removed!

I'd be grateful if I had TV Land right now. I just moved into a new city about 4 weeks ago, only to learn that their cable system here does not offer TV Land at this time :(

(but I'm hearing that they will upgrade their cable system sometime in the near future, so we'll see.... )

Get copies from somebody and you won't need TV Land!

Actually, I'm waiting to get original copies (from the original 16mm prints) from one of our board members here. Meanwhile, the public library in the area I'm living in has a few (very few) ILL videos for people to check out.

Can i ask who it is? Because i'm always leery of getting things from people i don't know, i used to recommend someone and now people are complaining about HIM!

Oh, I don't mind. His name is Michael Weston. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with him. It's been a whiile since I heard from him though (so I suppose he's got some catching up to do).

Who are the people I should stay away from?

SPLAIN

Nobody specific, i want to give mine the benefit of the doubt for now, but i have stopped recommending him to people, i don't want to feel responsable if he takes months and months to deliver. I meant the ones that suddenly appear on the boards and say they have everything, what if you send money and they never send the goods?

OK, I see. Well, I still have hope that he'll catch up some day, but at least he didn't charge me yet or anything like that. The last time I heard from him, he said he wanted to have my tapes/DVD's ready before he charges me.

He used to have a web site where people can use PayPal, but the site disappeared. I suppose that he doesn't want the burden of taking in more customers since he has too much catching up to do!

Anyway, thanks for keeping me posted on everything (and reminding me to be wary when necessary...).

Well, it's just common sense, you have to get stung usually to learn that lesson and i was! You think i wouldn't love to give a blank check to get everything Lucy ever did today, i would, but it would have to be with someone i know and trust.
