Is there any one who is gay and a strong Christian? I'm just wondering how this can be, since it's all over the Bible how homosexualtiy is wrong? What is your belief in this if you have one? Just trying to ask a question... not trying to judge.

Im straight and a Christian, but people who are gay cant help the way they feel. Im sure there are just as many gay religious people as there are many gay atheists. Everyone sins and you cant be perfect, so being gay would just be a 'flaw' in Gods eyes, then so be it. Dont want to preach, but God loves everyone and forgives.. so if you admit your sins, etc. as well.

You are absolutely right! The bible also names gluttony, gossiping,drunkenness, adultry, as sin also. Why do people think that homosexuality is worse than these?

well, i am Bi-sexual, and i believe in God. But if it is true that all gay people go to hell, then hell is going to be very full.

gay sex is the same sin as sex before marriage imo.

I'm bisexual, but i have to admit that all of the brimstone preaching Christian fundies, as well as the Vatican itself (who compared legalizing gay adoption to legalizing pedophilia), has kinda alienated me from the church since I know what I am and I am sick of people judging sexual preference over personality, humanity and the sort. I find it funny you can be gay and live a Mother Theresa type of life... but if you dare like the same sex, you're frying in hell for eternity. But if you're straight and commit adultery, molest children, etc.... being straight is a "get out of jail free" card

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.

Well, I'm Catholic...yes...ROMAN Catholic...I'm sure you've all heard about us Roman Catholics...the ones who are trying SO hard to ban same sex marriages. Well, I think that is BS. as a Catholic, it really ticks me off that the Vatican is so homophobic, but at the same time, they don't seem to want to do much about the sex scandals. I am sorry, but there is a vast difference between two consenting adult men or women having sex than a 45 year old priest and an 11 year old. Yet the church seems to be more opposed to two gay or lesbian adults.

I am also a Roman Catholic and I agree with you 100%! As long as they are happy, why should it really matter?

I believe in God and most of the stuff in the Bible and I'm a lesbian. I dunno its very confusing.

The biggest sin of them all is when you cheat on your lover/spouse. That is the problem with relationships today. Whether you go to Hell or not for cheating is not an issue, but you better save yourself from being hunted down by the person you cheated on. One thing is for sure, you'll probably have to make arrangements for your own funeral!

There's no way to tell for SURE whether or not homosexuals are going to hell...and if you believe that everything in the bible is true, then you must also believe that women are unclean during their periods and cant leave the house. The more I read the bible, the more I doubt it.

Of course people can be devout Christians and be gay. My priest is gay! Someone who wants to tell me that they're more devout than my priest who has gone to seminary and spent the past thirty years in the service of God has got a lot of learning to do :D

As for the Bible being against homosexuality, it's not one of the 10 Commandments, is it? Let me see, what were the ten most important rules that we follow? I wrote a big article on it in the Current Events board, which contained an article by a gay minister explaining a lot of things that are misunderstood and misinterpeted by Christians in the Bible. I think many christians are hypocritical with the "loving the sinner, hating the sin" BS, because everyone has seen a lot of intolerance and snide comments for people you'd THINK they'd be praying for.:rolleyes:

It's not. According to the Bible, all sins are equal in God's eyes. I don't think people should look any different on a homosexual Christian than a Christian who may do something as simple as lie. They are equal in God's eyes.

Hmm. i was just at a dance and there were some lesbians there which was the first time i've ever seen anyone who was gay. everyone i know is straight, or at least hasnt admitted to being bi/gay.

I really don't know what I am at this point. I'm so confused with my sexuality and religion. I don't know what to believe anymore because I have heard both sides to the story and each side both have good and bad points. Ug, I wish I was a girl! because I wouldn't be questioning myself at all or going on these boards but instead having the TIME of my LIFE.
