For Crayola Crayon’s 100th birthday they are eliminating a number of classic colors, you can participate by voting to save one of these colors at their Save the Shade (http://www.crayola.com/colorcorner/index.cfm?save=true) page (you do need to register for it)

The "Save the Shade" vote will determine the Crayola color that will be kept in their crayon boxes. The choices included:

Burnt Sienna
Blizzard Blue
Teal Blue
Mulberry
Magic Mint

I am not a big fan of burnt sienna, but I voted for Crayola to save that color over the others.

Those bastards. This is almost as low as when they got rid of 'Orange Red' but kept 'Red Orange'

There was a difference between the two.

I say Magic Mint and Blizzard Blue. For anyone who draws enough with crayon, you'd know both of those colors are blacklight reflective.

Sucks they're gonna can one.... for each, they're the only one of their color that glows under a blacklight.

Ditto - they have gotten rid of too many good colors, and while I don't care what they call them, or if they rename them, there are some colors that just can't be replaced....

I actually want all of them to stay, but I think that most of the votes they've gotten are similar to the poll here - Burnt Sienna is in the lead (I believe there is even a rather large online petition, just in case it doesnt win)

I feel like my life would have gone much better if I had been given a box of 64 Crayola crayons when I was 6. I had to be content with just eight measly crayons.:(

But were they at least the nice big fat ones?

I remember reading author Robert Fulghum saying that world peace could be achieved if the leaders all over the globe sat down and began to color with crayons.

The hard part would be getting them all to agree to it. That big box with the sharpener was really cool. I have the urge to go buy one now

I haven't bought a box of crayons in over 10 years so I don't even know what half of those look like. I voted for burnt sienna. Well, if the question was opposite and we had to take away one. I'd choose teal blue. I HATE any teal color. I just think its an ugly color IMO.
