We've been getting in multiple reports from last night and this morning. It seems that the latest print issue of the trade weekly Video Store Magazine features a 2-page ad for Curb Your Enthusiasm DVDs.
We don't have a copy of the mag handy ourselves, but the info that all of our sources agree on is that the ad talks about a January 13, 2004 street date for a 2-disc release, featuring all 10 half-hour episodes from season 1, plus what appears to be the hour-long 1999 "mockumentary" that ended up becoming the pilot for the series. No price or other specs are in the ad.
So far there is no information about this DVD through our normal channels. TVShowsOnDVD will work to confirm this data with HBO and distributor Warner Brothers, and bring you any additional material we can. Stay tuned for updates. Our thanks go out to everyone who wrote in, starting with Larry, Jeff, Cole, and Rebekah.

Following up on the recent news (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=689) we posted about the Jan. 13th release of Curb Your Enthusiasm, we extend our thanks to Matt Smith for scanning the cover art included in the ad.
Full disclosure: we used art software to manipulate the scan a bit to make it stand out better against the background (in the ad it was white-on-white), and also rotated the image to provide a straight-on view of the cover (inset). We think this gives you the best view of the cover, along with the rather different slide-out-tray packaging that this release will use (it's reminiscent of some of the earliest experimental DVD packaging concepts).
Check it out:

I know, I know...we've been teasing you for almost a week now with bits and pieces about a DVD release for Curb Your Enthusiasm. Well, HBO and distributer Warner Brothers has finally let loose with the official goods, and here's what they've got to say:

He's got it all, a loving wife, good friends, a successful career, a good home... What could go wrong for Larry David? Curb Your Enthusiasm stars Seinfeld co-creator Larry David as himself in an unsparing, cinema verite depiction of his life. Featuring real life celebrities playing themselves, the episodes are improvised by the actors from storylines by David. As you can tell from this now-easy-to-see cover art graphic, HBO is having a lot of fun with "The Many Moods of Larry David" (gee, they all look the same, don't they?). They also make it clear that this contains "10 Episodes Plus the One-Hour Special". Still planning to street on 1/13/04, this 2-Disc 390-minute set will list for $39.98. Video will be Full Frame (1.33:1), and stereo soundtracks and subtitles are all available in English, French, and Spanish.
The supplements announced for these DVDs are: Audio commentary with Larry David, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, and Bob Weide; an exclusive interview with Larry David conducted by Bob Costas of HBO's "On the Record", and episodic previews.
Join the Golden Globe winning show this coming January for their rookie season full of great guest shots including those by Kathy Griffin, Ten Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Diane Keaton, and Seinfeld's Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

So much for waiting for March.... I planned on renting this.... but it was only $19.99 at FYE so I decided "what the hell.... it like spending money at the movies.... just hope it will be good"
And god damn it was.
This is one of the funniest shows ever.
And next to Frasier.... its the best show on TV.
