View Full Version : Season premiere Mr. Stefani 09-23-2003, 08:33 PM What did you think? I liked it... HDfanLiz 09-23-2003, 08:39 PM I really enjoyed it too. It wasn't the best episode, but there were a lot of funny parts, especially Rory's scenes with the guitar. It's sad that this sitcom will have to be changed so much, but I'm glad John Ritter's last work is funny, it only seems fitting. :) Lizzie McGuire 09-23-2003, 08:57 PM Yeah it were good. The ending credits were funny when Kerri was smashing his guitar http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.php?s=&postid=1129190 Cactus Jack 09-23-2003, 09:07 PM I loved it!:D And the ending was a great tribute to Amnimal hosue with the smashing of the guitar  David 09-23-2003, 09:36 PM IT was hilarious!!!!!! Has to be one of my top 3 episodes. I loved the walking in... and when Paul said "im gonna give her the big one"... and they all went "eww!. And i love Bridgets new hair style! Mr. Stefani 09-23-2003, 10:00 PM It really sunk in when they showed this :( Crimson and Clover 09-23-2003, 10:10 PM I liked it. Crimson and Clover 09-23-2003, 10:11 PM Originally posted by Nirvana It really sunk in when they showed this :( Before Less Than Perfect they had a black screen like that and it said "For John" Raven-Symone 09-24-2003, 12:02 AM I like it, I thought it was very funny. gOoSe 09-24-2003, 12:07 AM i thought it was a funny episode. just got a little bored with bridget and the new guy's eye movement scene... Will and Grace Fanatic 09-24-2003, 12:51 AM I thought it was pretty darn funny. A great start for the second season. Mr. Television 09-24-2003, 01:44 AM I thought it was great. Montanya427 09-24-2003, 01:52 AM It was BITTERSWEET. Funny but very sad to think that there are only 2 more episodes that include John Ritter. I realized watching this I was watching a comic legend come to an end. I realized that I will only have reruns after the next 2 shows to see John Ritter and all his craziness. Katey Sagal was great in her opening statement before the show started, they had such great chemistry on screen together. *GoodMorningCalgary* 09-24-2003, 09:33 AM It was pretty good! there were alotta funny parts. the only problem I thought was the kids were all pretty rude, sayin stuff like "You don't deserve milk" or "maybe if you learned to say no once in awhile" I hope that wasnt gonna be a permenat thing or else I wouldn't be able to stand it. I also felt bad because I relized while watching it that we won't be able to see episodes like this anymore. They're gonna change it and all :( ***1/2/***** stars robyrob 09-24-2003, 09:45 AM I thought it was great, but John wasnt in enough scenes, and by the end of the show I wanted to smash Rory's guitar!!!! dsimp8 09-24-2003, 10:47 AM It was great except for the new guy part. I thought my wife was going to pee in her pants when Kerry called Rory a girl for making breakfast and making the card. "I'm gonna give her the big one ." was hilarious ,too. Freakzilla 09-24-2003, 02:11 PM I thought the episode was very good. The part where everyone was eating breakfast after the kids tried to bring Cate breakfast in bed was funny. I also thought is was funny when Kerry said "Don't name it" after Paul said he was going to give Cate the jaraffe. I think this show can survive John Ritter's death. It'll be tricky. John was a beloved actor. The show could lose a lot of it's audience without him. But without him, you still have four actors who have a good chemistry together. Rebuilding around them could turn out to be successful. We'll just have to wait and see. Mr. Television 09-24-2003, 02:56 PM Originally posted by Jen1982 I didn't get to see it. So, who, if anyone, was pregnant? It was Cate's pregnancy test but it turned out she wasn't pregnant. *Pleasant Tomorrow* 09-24-2003, 03:24 PM I thought it was hilarious. I laughed so hard during it. You guys already mentioned some of my favorite parts, like when Paul said "She gets the big one!" But yeah, it was really funny. I was sad, though, knowing there won't be anymore John after a few episodes. It'll be so weird without him. :( dandelion wine 09-24-2003, 03:45 PM I thought it was great, too. Especially when Paul was showing the kids the giraffe and Kerry said, "Ewww, don't name it!" Laughed hard through practically the entire show, but then it really did sink in when they had the black screen and John's name. :( Mr. Television 09-24-2003, 03:49 PM I think why some are saying its not as good as last season is because it was a lot easier to laugh at it last season. Theres a lot of sadness hanging over this show. HDfanLiz 09-24-2003, 03:52 PM Originally posted by mr roper I think why some are saying its not as good as last season is because it was a lot easier to laugh at it last season. Theres a lot of sadness hanging over this show. Yeah, that's a good point. It's not as carefree as it once was. Adamantium 09-24-2003, 04:20 PM I taped the first ten episodes last season. And this was the first episode I've seen beyond those ten. It was pretty good. Of course, just knowing that the family is about to lose Paul was really hard to deal with. I really like Bridget's hairdo she had. I admit though, I missed the gabbing Bridget from last season. I'm guessing it's just a temorary thing until she gets her popularity back. I wonder if Tommy will still show up once in a while, now that John's gone. Plus, I miss the way the furniture was arranged last season. It just seemed more balanced than it does now. I'm also glad that Cate is not pregnant. If John were still alive, then I'd want her to be pregnant, because his nerves during the pregnancy would have been hilarious. Josh9125 09-24-2003, 05:21 PM I thought it was so funny! I especially liked it because Cindy Williams was in it. cheers freak 09-24-2003, 05:45 PM It was a great episode but it was really hard to watch. I kept thinking " I still can't believe that Johns really gone" and I'm still thinking that now. :( swedeace 09-24-2003, 08:56 PM This episode was, perhaps, the funniest 8SR episode!!!! It was just so funny! So many one-liners within the Hennesey family members as well made it super funny! :D I though it was a perfect Three's Company-quality classic filled with sexual misunderstandings when Paul is giving gifts to his kids after realizing he might be a new father by the followind dialog: "I've saved the best for your mother. I'm giving her the big one," Paul says. "Ewwww.....dad," the kids say while being grossed out. "The giraffe!" Paul says with a funny look on his face. "Ew, don't name it!" The kids yell. Then, Paul puts up the toy and the kids sigh in relief! Oh, my... :D That was pure gold.... I couldn't help but to laugh so hard! ;) I heard it rated high on the Nielson Ratings! I'm so happy! :D But it's still empty to know there are STILL two more NEW, never-before-seen John episodes available.... I'm actually glad it wasn't the case with Cate being pregnant because then the newer episodes would've focused more on the baby than Paul, the character. I think the scene with Bridget giving an eye to the new guy could've been cut a bit shorter to show more of John and the family, though. :D ;) All in all, I personally laughed hard because it was one of the funniest episodes, but as I laughed, I also cried. It really breaks my heart it's one of the three last John episodes. :( But all I kept thinking about during the show was this seemed like a dream for me for John. Whenever there was a funny part, I would laugh hard and then I would cry. I don't know. It's just.... hard for a fan.... :( I really feel for everyone here who is a huge John fan. I am too, and I am a frequent poster at an Ace of Base page, but there aren't very many John fans there, so I felt happy finding this page (not happy for the situation, but happy for having a chance to share stuff with you all). We'll all get through this together. It's tough.... Hugs! :) Montana Ponine 09-25-2003, 07:57 PM I loved it. I'm not sure why, but now I feel like watching it a second time. It was hilarious. It was very sweet too, probably because it was the first episode I watched since John's passing. I loved how they had Katey Sagal talk in the beginning...and the screen they showed at the end. I nearly cried. :( Mr. Roper 09-26-2003, 09:54 PM I loved this episode. I felt a mixture of sad and happiness from John's jokes... I will miss him. TelevisionQueen 09-27-2003, 01:01 AM I thought it was great! It really seems like he's not gone, and I know it will be weird in a month when they start showing the new ones without John. I loved the part where Paul (talking about Cate) said something about salt, and then Bridget goes "Aaaaah, salt", and John keeps talking, and then he gives Bridget/Kaley this look like "What the heck?!" and then keeps talking - I loved it! Can't wait till next week! David 09-27-2003, 09:57 PM Originally posted by TelevisionQueen I thought it was great!
