Anyone here skipping classes this semester? Hmmm? :talk:

If you mean purposely, then no.

But if you mean oversleeping because you have 8AM classes ever single morning and are 20 minutes away from campus, then yes, I have missed it a few times. I hate 8AM classes. 11AM seems more suitable.

i have to get up at 6:00 BAH but school doesnt start till 8:15

I get up at 6:15 and school starts at 8:10. I skipped a class yesterday because I really didn't feel like sitting there for an hour and a half, and it was pouring out and I didn't feel like running to the building.

Yep... triple period lunch here too. I was about to skip Gym today becuse it sucks so badly, but I'd definitely get caught. You always get caught in my school. And I don't need any ****-ups on my record.... I'm trying to use my sense this year.

my usual routine:
lunch 4th
always late from gettin back to lunch 5th so i dont bother going to chem
gym/study hall 6th usually dont bother going to(unless chick soccer in gym)

and my spanish teacher is always absent and i have her 7th..i made friends with the sub guy so he lets me and a friend leave and doenst give us cuts. he usually just asks us to bring him back food. hes cool.

I'm trying so hard. I've got three (yes three) 8am classes and one 9am. AND - this is the best part - they don't take attendance in any of them! :( I'm trying so hard to make them - I'm determined to get a 4.0 this semester but... it's not easy! I've actually been making most of them - I've only skipped my 8am once and my 9am... um... nevermind. ;)

no, well I skip study when I have it first period..but thats just because we are allowed to...people ask me to skip class, but im a good kid, plus I dont want a cut slip, I rather fake sick

Ugh...8am should be illegal. When I lived on campus, it wasn't so bad...roll out of bed at 7:40 and go to class. But when I lived 30 mins away...damn.

I'm with you Chris. Nothing before 11am.

If it makes you feel better, when I was in highschool I had to get up every day at 5:30 to freeze at the bus stop to make it to school by 7:10. Grrr. My school district was run by the wicked witch of the west.

I also had chemistry first thing in the morning. I was in the front row, trying so hard to keep my eyes open. Never in my life had I ever had a teacher stop in the middle of a lecture, look at me, and say "Emily, just go to sleep." :lol: True story, I swear!

But when I was in college, I did skip on purpose a lot. Anxiety Disorders suck ass.

If I don't leave the dorm before 7:20, I won't make it on time. There's always like 300 people by the bus stop, and the buses are so small and cramaped. I sometimes have to wait for a second or third bud before I can get on one. If worse comes to worse, I'll push and shove to get to the front of the line.

I'm not skipping any classes. Several people in my Math 15 class have been dropped due to poor attendance.

:( That sucks. Fortunately, my first campus was small enough that we didn't even have a bus. It only took me 5 mins to get from my dorm to my 8am.

Wow, three buses???? I've never had to wait for more than two - but then again, they pack us in like sardines.

Nope, I'm at CU.

Yea, they took a couple of those old, yellow school buses and painted them gold to pass them off as regular buses. The thing is, they just built some new apartments next to the dorms, so there's more people than usual on the buses. Freshmen do the dorms while the sophomores, juniors, and seniors can live in the apts. and use the buses for free.

If I lived on campus, I could just roll out of bed at 7:50 and be on time, since most of the dorms are close to all my classes. If I had a map or something, I'd post it. I'll probably do that when I'm home (next weekend). I'll remember to bump this thread up then.

For me back in 1981 skipping High School was a blast! Okai?

Back inthe day whe it was fun, it was easy to walk off campus, grab some frozen yoguret down the street and hide out behind the trees etc...or just go to the park and hang with your buddies and stuff. Yeah the late 70s' ealry 80s was awesome!

No. Skipping serves no purpose. I used to see a bunch of kids skip class when I was going to the bathroom. Whats up with people skipping class to hang out in the caf?!?!?! Meangya, if youre going to skip make it worth it and leave the damn school. Its stupid to skip school to sit at a table talking to people. :rolleyes: If I were to skip Id make it worth it and leave and go shopping or whatever! Sitting in a caf. or walking around, youre just asking to be caught. When I skipped, it was no big deal. My mom let me. Then one day me & Amanda went to school and decided we wanted to go to the movies, so we went back home. Our parents didnt care.. but then again we got good grades.

Sucks. I'm a senior, but I do still live on campus (don't ask) but my 8am's still on the other side of campus, which takes twenty minutes by bike. If I took the bus it would take 40 :rolleyes: Don't ya just love college bus systems? ;)

:lol: That's why I was glad I got to park on campus. Never did ride a bus.

i skipped ONE period of bio last year... i didnt do my homework anyway... so i told my teacher i had a lesson and went down to this lesson my friend told me to go to... yeah. plathetic, i know. hah!

I skipped my 8am class a few times in HS...I'm so bad. :D

wohoow hour and half study tomorrow first block...that means no school for me till 9:30...but I have to be at home room by 9:20

you get cut slips, and detentions if you cut, and a zero in the class for the day, and its not worth it, I never skip...dont plan on it

Man that would suck!! My friend has Algebra Based Physics which is a killer class first period. Lucky me I have it 4th period next semester.

Mine didn't do that and I always had really easy classes at 8 so I skipped if I wanted to. :woohoo:

yea, sometimes i'll skip Bio 101.. but tha'ts only because his lecturs come straight from the book and he's really up there wasting his time....and sometimes English , cause i hate it .

Yeah, skipping in highschool was a LOT harder. I only did it once. Went home with my friend and watched "Three's Company." As much as I love that show, it wasn't worth the two hours I spent in the vice principle's office wishing I'd never been born. :rolleyes:

I don't skip. I only go two days a week anyways.

I have had alot of dreams where I skip classes. I skip the whole day in my dream (I hide somewhere in the school)....I only goto Lunch and then go home.....
