I just can't see how ABC is going to
keep 8 simple rules on the air as a comedy show after John's death. writing John's death into the show is one thing. but keeping the show as a comedy after that sounds impossible. and will insult viewers i think. i think this show will be off the air
quite soon after they show John's last 3 taped episodes.:(

yes i totally agree...
this is only cuz everything in this world is about money =/
they should cancel the show and try to come up with a new one or whatever... but john ritter can NEVER be replaced...
I'll just watch the 3 ep's with john in it and then the show's off for me

Thank you! I am glad to see that someone else is going to give 8 simple rules a chance after the John Ritter episodes, too! I am not against it going on. I miss John Ritter, and was completely saddened by his sudden death, but I want the show to go on. The other cast members are very talented, and I believe they could go on this season, and that John would have wanted that too. It would be kind of a funny direction to see Rory as Man of the house. As far as Three's Company on N@N, it might come back after the Roseanne marathon. Keep on making me laugh John Ritter. I keep you in my heart.

Oh im sure ABC will try. i just don't see how it can be a comedy after all that has happened with John. i can't see fans liking it because of this.

Other comedies have incorporated deaths into sitcoms and have survived. The difference here is that John was the star. The only sitcom that I remember that had a lead character die that was a success was The Hogan Family and Valarie Harper didn't die in real life. I couldn't watch The Royal Family after Redd Foxx died. My point is I like the cast of this show and am willing to give them a chance to see if they can make the show watchable. I hope they can. This was my favorite new sitcom that premiered last season and I'd hate to see it end.

I think 8 Simple Rules could still be good. It's an incredibly sad situation they're having to deal with. The producers are taking their time, rebuilding the show with the remaining cast at the center. So it will be a completely different show. It's whether they still put on a good show and people accept that it's completely different from the show they saw before that will determine 8 Simple Rules' fate. It could still be better than some of the other ABC sitcoms, like According to Jim.

According to Jim is awful. i have seen lots of episodes to give it a chance. i never laughed once.
