View Full Version : Why doesn't anyone lock their d@mn doors on sitcoms?!
shocolah 09-22-2003, 08:32 PM On Seinfeld, George, Kramer and Elaine always barge right in. I just saw a preview of "Will and Grace"...Grace moves out but keeps coming back into their old apartment and Will is sitting in the nude. What other characters on shows don't lock their doors? I know some do and some don't, but it seems like the New York sitcoms never do, including "Friends". To be honest, I don't always keep my door locked!
I've lived in New York for several years, and I have never had a neighbor in my apartment.
We just nod and smile when we see each other in the hall.
We're all one big happy family.
;)

That's sad:(
As Balki says,"Get out of the city!"
Chocoholic 09-23-2003, 12:08 PM We always keep our doors locked, and we live in a small, quiet town. I think they keep the doors unlocked for humor.
SBTB Geek 09-23-2003, 02:13 PM Speaking about doors... did you guys ever noticed that in "Charles In Charge" the door to the right was never opened! For example... when Charles and Buddy were trying to move in the couch, why didn't they just open the second door?... In fact, I think the grandpa did end up opening it, but that was the first, and last time it was ever opened. Weird.
Tammy 09-23-2003, 02:53 PM We lock our doors when we're out but we never lock them when we're home. What I think is funny is when the characters leave in a hurry and leave the doors wide open.

I think that's funny, too.

Full House had two doors too, but the second one wasn't used much.
D-Dey 11-16-2003, 11:22 AM I can ask the same question about police dramas. I don't believe for one second that anybody in Los Angeles leaves their car doors wide open, yet on TV shows like "T.J. Hooker," "Hunter," and every other show out there, some thug always breaks into a car with no effort, and either steals it, or takes a driver hostage.
James 11-16-2003, 04:18 PM Lenny and Squiggy were always barging into Laverne's and Shirley's apartment on L&S.
"EH-LOH!"

Yeah! By leaving their door unlocked I guess they deserved what they got!
Superbatboy 11-16-2003, 06:12 PM You'd think they'd REALLY keep the doors locked on shows like Friends, Will & Grace, and The Cosby Show since they're in New York.
Dude111 05-11-2026, 05:19 AM They probably just forget to lock the doors as it isnt real so they forget as humans do often!!

merlinjones 05-11-2026, 01:50 PM What about Dr. Bellows? Just walks into Tony's house whenever he pleases without knocking! So obsessed. No wonder they had to give him a wife.
