Wings had a four night marathon. With only six episodes a night beginning at Ten. Of course, The Cosby Show had to start off the night. However, Roseanne gets a five night marathon and The Cosby Show does NOT start the night. Plus, Roseanne goes on all through the night. This shows that N@N, right out of the gate treated Wings like a B-Show. Everyone is getting upset about Cheers losing an episode, but the thing about that is, Cheers has been on N@N for a couple years now. Wings was on for like a week and then shrunk to a half-hour.

I swear N@N is turning into the networks. Now when a sitcom is low rated in the beginning, it's cancelled. Whereas in the decades before now, if a show was low rated, it was given time and some eventually grew into classics. N@N is now the same way. If the show doesn't get impressive ratings from the beginning, well then it's pushed to the late hours and forgotten.

This ad shows that N@N plays favorites.
Full House - Coming Soon
Roseanne - Coming Soon
The Cosby Show - 12:00am & 12:30am
Cheers - 1:30am

Oh BOY, do I agree with you, Adam!

"Wings" had one foot in the grave from Day #1 on NICK. (Have you noticed how NICK is advertising the HECK out of "Roseanne"? I don't remember THAT kind of red-carpet welcome for "Wings"!)

It STILL makes me wonder why NICK purchased "Wings" in the FIRST place....They never gave the show a decent chance!

I agree. They didn't give Wings much of a chance at all. I do remember them promoting it quite a bit, but they still gave the show barely enough time to develop a decent audience. Plus, it started on N@N when the Iraq war was starting, so more people were probably watching the news. I know I was watching more news those few weeks than I usually do.

Maybe now that Tony won an Emmy, N@N might try latching onto Monk's popularity and give Wings another shot.

Viacom owns Paramount and Nick as well.
Viacom supposedly wants the licences to their shows to be pulled out of regional/
Superstation venues and put on their own networks, kind of like what Universal
has been doing with USA Network and Sci-Fi Channel for a while.
Universal is the reason why USAM was cancelled.
They no longer wanted to show Sony Pictures Entertainment/Viacom packages (USAM
was almost wholly made up of SPE shows).
So now USA shows almost nothing but what Uni owns.
It's the 'branding' of television, sad, but true.
