POTENTIAL Spoiler! Stop Reading...
What a fun movie! They shoulda put it out a bit closer to Halloween. I walked in very psyched & hoped they wouldn't show a bias towards the vampires & against the "lycans", but it turned out pretty balanced. (nice open-ended close for a potential sequel, huh?!) What I love about movies w/ vampires is the way they're constantly evolving in terms of changing the old clichés about them. Seems every new film w/ them has it's own unique spin. Funny how they couldn't communicate telepathically like 'traditional' vampires. They needed cell phones! Those bullets both sides had were a cool idea as well. I gotta say though I'm getting tired of that Matrix-inspired "stop/slow-mo' trick. And also the bluish gel over the lens. I mean, the end effect is cool, but visually we see it so often. The part near the opening shootout where Selene is peering around the subway column & then suddenly the train comes roaring by was bs too. Cheap scare. (you *usually* hear a train coming)
Overall though, this was cool, IMO.
