View Full Version : Torture, pure torture
Dannie IsNotHere 09-21-2003, 09:46 PM So... this is day/night one of pure torture: Cheers withdrawl for all of us! The only way to survive is to use our tapes and/or DVDs. And if you don't have any of that, then you have to suffer more than anyone else.
HOW WILL WE SURVIVE?!?
Good luck, all.
Skywalker 09-21-2003, 10:04 PM How's this for torture. watching 18 episodes in a row for five nights straight of Roseanne.
sinatrastar 09-21-2003, 10:17 PM I think that is how they get the Taliban to confess.
Dannie IsNotHere 09-21-2003, 10:36 PM Okay, I, for one, cannot STAND Roseanne. My parents hate it, too and I guess I inherited their qualities. Plus there's a lot of people I know who hate it, too. So if everyone else feels this way, then N@N is gonna lose a lot of viewers. So now, the only thing I'll be watching it for is... nothing. I'll just have to set my VCR for the Cheers episodes. I hate this.
How long has Cheers been on the air anyway? According to N@N, "All of the shows on TV Land are acquired programs. These programs are owned by various distributors who license them to us for a limited amount of time. Once a show's license expires, TV Land is no longer permitted to air the program. Sadly, license expiration is the case recently with The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Barney Miller, and Charlie's Angels. Of course, if it were as easy as "just renew the contracts" we most likely would. However that is not always possible." (I know it says TV land, but I'm sure it's the same for N@N). So, let's all pray that the Cheers liscense is still "fresh".
DianeChambers87 09-21-2003, 11:06 PM If you don't like Roseanne do not WATCH the marathon..lol we don't want to them to get good ratings....tune into....I don't know......um......a seinfeld rerun. lol or something.

Now your talking!!
I watched it.....the whole marathon....I like that show.(runs and hides):D
barwars 09-22-2003, 04:52 PM It was funny, but the Emmys were on last night, so I skipped out.
Even though I want Cheers back, N@N isnt putting any shows I HATE within the next few years, this works....
HAHA.
Local Channels ROCK.

  I want my local channels to play Cheers!!!! The WB used to air it but they don't anymore.
barwars 09-22-2003, 05:00 PM haha
My local UPN airs it, and beginning today, Roseanne as well.
MaydayMalonesGirl 09-22-2003, 05:04 PM Why does everyone laugh at my expense? :p
Dannie IsNotHere 09-22-2003, 05:14 PM I couldn't help but watch it this morning. I get up at 5:00 am, and looked to see if the show I usually watch in the morning was on, and SHE was there!!! Save me from the torture!!!
*Nervous breakdown. Brother come in and turns on Cheers tape*
All better. But it's not the same... I like the Diane years, since I don't even have tapes with her. (I only record The Rebecca Years)
barwars 09-22-2003, 05:15 PM My bad, its just that....
well, i get to see "I Do, Adieu" in the next couple of days and well.....
yeah, maybe i should stop now.

Heartbreaking, plain and simple
Dannie IsNotHere 09-22-2003, 09:00 PM Okay, sad things (so far):
*The final Diane years epsiode (I admit I get a little teary watching it)
*BEING TORTURED WITH ROSEANNE FOR A WEEK!!
*Knowing that all we have is out Cheers DVDs/tapes to rely on for a week, and then not being able to stay up until 11:00 to watch Cheers
*WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO DIANE AND SAM NEXT??? (Okay, okay, okay... being at the boards AND beginning to watch the Diane years made me change my vote: SAM AND DIANE MAKE A MUCH BETTER COUPLE!!!! Rebecca was better putting off Sam's come-ons.)
Anything else?
P.S. This is the most replies I've gotten to a board I've made up yet!

see Diane grows on you, I saw Diane and all the episodes before I saw any rebecca episodes. So yes Sam and Diane make a GREAT couple...Rebecca and Sam same where kind of akward. It looked like two friends kissing. No chemistry, unlike ted and Shelley.
What will happen to them next? Oh GOd it gets better and better till the damn "I do, Adieu" episode and then...you just cry your eyes out...the episode I saw after that was "Home is a Sailor" and I have to be frank that I absolutely HATED rebecca the first time I saw her, She grew on me and became my third favorite character after Sam and Diane...it's just that the thought of her taking shelleys place was just too much for me lol
Dannie IsNotHere 09-22-2003, 09:32 PM Haha, and now thanks to N@N, all that's over. I was just beginning to like Diane (although Rebecca will ALWAYS be my favorite!) and they stop playing it for a week!
And, yes, "I do, Adieu" was one of the first Diane episodes I ever saw, and I started tearing up, even though I hadn't cared much for her at the time.
You'd think I had been happy that she left. LOL.
Diane: I'll be back for you. I'll see you in six months. *leaves the bar*
Sam: Have a nice life.
:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crybaby:
Chocoholic 09-23-2003, 03:26 PM I'm going through both Cheers and Wings withdrawal. :( I neved did like Roseanne :barf: It's not as bad as Full House though (double :barf: )

Honestly I feel for ya, I am a Wings Fan, and I am going through major withdrawls this week with no Wings on, so I can see your position :(
It's ridiculous that Roseanne and other shows get a week long marathon, but Wings only gets 4 measly days, No one can say that N@N plays favs. ;) Plus when Wings comes back on it's getting moved to the graveyard shift at 3:30 am, I hope that doesn't happen to Cheers eventually.
cheers freak 09-24-2003, 06:03 PM At least you guys get Cheers. I dont get at all at anytime and I dont have a DVD player. So all I have is a few old tapes. I AM SUFFERING FROM MAJOR CHEERS WITHDRAWL:(
Dannie IsNotHere 09-24-2003, 06:39 PM OMG!!!!! Did you see that sometime in 2004, they're putting ANOTHER Cosy show on N@N!!?? I don't remember what it's called, but I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! N@N's gonna lose it, I tell ya!
MaydayMalonesGirl 09-24-2003, 06:44 PM Oh another cosby show. Just what we need. I give up on Nick @ Nite. They officially SUCK.
CheersChild4life 09-24-2003, 07:13 PM DEATH TO NICK AT NITE!!!!!!!!!!
"Fatherhood". Nick@Nite's first animated series from Bill Cosby. :( See what I dotn get is, Nick@Nite is supposed to be classic tv. #1, some of these new shoes didnt go off the air until 97', I wouldnt consider them classics. And now this is a NEW show. The whole network has gone to hell.
DianeChambers87 09-24-2003, 09:37 PM Death to Nick!!!!
OK I'm saying it!!! IT's officially back to Cosby@Nite!
Dannie IsNotHere 09-24-2003, 10:11 PM Ok, I just got an idea. I know this website where you can make petitions... so maybe we could make one to either
a) KEEP CHEERS ON A GOOD TIME!
*~*~or~*~*
b) TRY TO KEEP ANY MORE COSBY SHOWS OFF THE AIR!
What's next? They'll start playing "Little Bill"???
Dannie IsNotHere 09-26-2003, 08:51 PM YES!!! It's almost over! And we survived!!! Wait... is it coming on on Saturday and Sunday? I sure hope not... I miss Cheers!
