I was just wondering why Joyce DeWitt always felt the need to wear nylons/hoisery while filming Three's Company. I read that it caused conflict between 3's Co producers and she never wanted to work showing her bare legs. Even when wearing short pants. Why?? She had cute legs. Was it a personal issue?? Hmmm!!

I think maybe it was because she's more, how do I say this, more pure about herself. Know what I mean. I just think she has her standards about how to be and about how to do things. That's just my opinion.

She must be very modest and that's why I'm sure she was very respected on the show. Like I'm sure she was strong about the opposite sex yoo. That's what woman need to do now-a-days!!

The reason she never showed her bare legs was because she thought they looked to boyish. She hated her legs and that was why she always wore the nylons.

She had very nice legs!! She really beat herself up. She also said that she was very chubby when she started out on Three's Company and that she hated that too. She didn't look chubby to me. She was only a kid at the time!!

She did look younger than she was. On Larry King Live she said that when she started Three's Company she was a short chubby black haired thing. I guess even though she was 28 or 29 she still felt like a kid!!

I saw the one commercial when she was wearing a tuxedo type outfit baring her legs!! It was on the TV Land retromercials and she looked cute. She had a black stick and looked like a rockette!! She was saying something about how fast she moves and that the legg's hoisery always moves with her or something like that. They might just show it again!!

If Joyce was self-conscious, she had no reason to be. Her body was outstanding. Very curvy and feminine as it should be, in my opinion.

And several other episodes she was wearing skin-tight stockings in a bathing suit or leotard that didn't really make any difference anyways as we could see her legs just the same.

She always wore stockings. They were just transparent but she never worked bare legged. Even when she wore a towel or a bikini or even her football jersey nightie.

I think that it was the thing in that era. Chrissy did it too, as did my Terri and Lana. It was rare to find a bare-legged woman in that era. In this day in age, all the women on t.v. and in the movies go bare-legged.
