I'm_NMK 01-04-2001, 09:18 PM To name a few - Life is Beautiful The Little Mermaid (come on - who doesn't love Disney?!?!) Greece w/ john travolta, etc. (love that soundtrack!) And I used to love a league of their own also. (This coming from a true baseball and diehard yankee fan!!) American Beauty, and.......... American Pie! (too funny! ;) ) JohnMcMillin 01-04-2001, 09:29 PM Aliens T2 Scream series Halloween series Desperately Seeking Susan Final Destination Color Purple Sound Of Music Trick Magnolia Pretty Woman Steel Magnolias many others ks 01-04-2001, 09:58 PM To name my top 5 list in no particular order: "Primal Fear" "Runaway Bride" "A League of Their Own" (huge baseball fan!) This is such a HARD question! Ok, I'll try though... I'm with you guys on A League of Their Own I think I saw it 3 times in theaters and like a hundred times since. Goonies rules too. The Muppet Movie (which ironically opened in theaters the DAY I was born http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Toy Story 1&2 The Indiana Jones trilogy Spaceballs True Lies And "Poison Ivy" with Michael J. Fox and Nancy McKeon. Can I just tell you that I used to rent that movie ALL the time when I was a kid? That and A Christmas Story. I'm_NMK 01-04-2001, 11:33 PM TVAddict - SPACEBALLS?!? One of my friends is like obsessed with that, and it's kinda funny and all but....AAGH!!! Blazing Sadles - THAT was funny - Mongo punching the horse! I almost died! What was "poison ivy" about? I've never seen it. Oh, and you were born during the muppets thing? How old are you, if you don't mind answering? ~NMK Jo-Po Rox 01-04-2001, 11:35 PM So we have big baseball fans here huh! Cool! so am I. Im a huge Yankees fan. Bronx Bombers all the way!!! Luv ya Derek! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif TVaddict 01-04-2001, 11:42 PM Hey, Spaceballs is funny! Blazing Saddles is ok too. I'm 21 by the way, Muppet Movie came out in '79. Poison Ivy was a summer camp movie. It was sort of cheesy, but I loved it. Nancy played the camp nurse and MJF played a counselor who was in love with her. Nancy also had this nerd kid infatuated with her who kept trying to find ways to end up in the infirmary, at which point he rolled around in poison ivy. The rental place I used to get this from went out of business, I'm mad because when they closed they sold off all their inventory and I probably could've gotten it for like $3, after all, we did get Wayne's World for $5. I'm_NMK 01-04-2001, 11:48 PM Go JoPoRox! Yanks all the way!!!! But, uh, I must say... Derek? He's MINE!!!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif So is my Paulie and Tino and....well, The whole team! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Actually, if you want to hear a good story...... On my birthday a few years back, my aunt and uncle (also diehard yanks - even have a room in their house dedicated to baseball, namely the yanks) took me out all day for shopping, lunch and a game. The seats were on the first row near the first baseline (one of the best games i been too!) and since we fot there early, we watch them warming up and doing streches http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek.gif and anyway....Derek came to retrieva a ball that came near the wall.. He was a armslenght away from me - I swear, If I reached out I could have touched him!! (I was too much in awe to think of it at the time though - STUPID, STUPID ME!!!) Well, just thought I'd share that.... ~NMK JoBlairTootieNat 01-04-2001, 11:55 PM A League of Their Own is my favorite. So we got baseball fans and I bet mostly everyone like the Yankees. I'm against themI like Boston. I'm_NMK 01-04-2001, 11:57 PM Hey - I never said Spaceballs wasn't funny - I just don't think it's the funniest movie in the world, K? Doesn't the princess (I can't remember the actresses name, but she played jo on melrose. O! I got it...i think it was daphne Zuniga or something) remind you of blair with bad hair? hee, hee! Jo-Po Rox 01-04-2001, 11:58 PM NMK r u serious?!?! Honey, if it had been me I prolly wouldve ripped his Jersey off http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif J/k. But seriously, I loooooove him. I have his jersey (2), a Huge Button that I bought at the World Series parade with his pic in it (my, those green eyes of his!!!) and a framed picture with his printed autograph that my cousin gave me. My second favorite is Bernie. Ive only been to one game at yankee stadium which is a little ironic considering its not far from me. Neway, boy did we get off topic! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif TVaddict 01-05-2001, 12:04 AM JoBlairTootieNat: I'm with you, Boston rules! Didn't want to say too much with so many Yankees fans around, but now that I know I have back-up..... I'm_NMK 01-05-2001, 12:08 AM jo po- yea! we did! Omigod...I regret it to this day!!!!I could KILL myself, not jumping to derek.... I definately know what you mean....I LOVE him!!!! My old coach used to call me "mrs. jeter" during practice cuz i wore his tshirt and would like never shut up about him! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I havelike a zillion, and I love em all!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Paul O'Niel is my second favorite. His heart is in the game...he's very shall we say passionate about it, I love his attitude.. I think he's so funny!! I could go on forever about this topic..... ~NMK PS - YOU WENT TO THE PARADE!!!!! IT'S JUST NOT FAIR......I was supposed to go with friends, but i wasn't allowed to http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif [This message has been edited by I'm_NMK (edited 01-04-2001).] I'm_NMK 01-05-2001, 12:12 AM BOSTON?!?!?!?!?!?! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif Jo-Po Rox 01-05-2001, 12:17 AM NMK- Tell me about it, O'neil gets so into the game. If he strikes out or pops out he gets this look on his face that just makes ya wanna get out of his way. So how many games have ya been to neway? Im looking foward to going to the season opener. Hopefully, I'll get a good seat. I dont wanna be a bleacher creature http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ks 01-05-2001, 12:33 AM Ok baseball fans, I can top all of that! I'm a Braves fan! I can't stand the Yanks or the Mets. Although I would love to go to a game at Yankee Stadium-that would be cool. Because not only am I a Braves fan I'm just a HUGE baseball fan in general. I could go on and on about why I like them and etc, but then this post would be SO RIDICULOUSLY long and everyone woud get bored reading it http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif I can say this much though: When baseball season arrives I lock myself in my room and watch every game. I yell at the TV set and my room looks as if Hurrican Floyd has hit it. Just showing some team spitit though http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif K, I'll be quit about that now! GO BRAVES! 39 days until spring training! ks TVaddict 01-05-2001, 12:37 AM ks, you're going to be insanely jealous at this one, but my college team trains at the same place as the Braves in Disney World. We walk by their batting cages and stuff, and Tom Glavine even watched a few games in our tournament! ks 01-05-2001, 12:43 AM You've got to be kidding me! That is SO unfair! I'm hoping to go down to spring training and catch a few of their games this year. (fingers crossed) Do you play baseball? If so, which position? I've only been to one Braves game and I've been to a spring training game once. It's just such a long drive! For Christmas though I got an official Maddux jersey, a Furcal and A. Jones picture, and alot of baseball history books. My friends call me a walking baseball encyclopedia! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Anyway, I think it's way cool you get to see them play and play in the same facilities as them! P.S. My fav A.L. team is the A's! (I wish they woulda beat those dern Yanks!) TVaddict 01-05-2001, 12:49 AM You really should go, it's a beautiful field and you'd of course be in DISNEY WORLD, so that's pretty good. And the games are relatively easy to get into also. I actually play softball, 3rd base. And I'll also clarify that Tom Glavine only watched because his niece was on one of the teams. Hey, he was there, right? EastLand_Girl 01-05-2001, 03:28 AM *lol* NMK, Yep ya gotta love Disney Movies. Hey guys, is High School USA good. I can't find it at the video store!!! I wanna see it!! ahoob 01-05-2001, 11:09 AM My fav movies are: Pink Panther Young Frankinstein (Cloris Leachman is in it) Top Gun Spaceballs Back II the Futur 1,2&3 Air Force one Romey and Michelle's High school reunion Goonies Crocodile Dundee Poison Ivy My 2 favortie Basball teams are Yanks and the Rockies ks 01-05-2001, 02:33 PM Yeah, he was there and that's ALL that matters. LaverneShirley 01-05-2001, 10:17 PM As a die-hard L&S AND baseball fan, my favorite movie ever is A League of Their Own. I mean, how can I not love a movie directed by Penny Marshall and has Garry Marshall (creator of L&S, Walter Harvey in movie), Eddie Mekka (Carmine on L&S, in the movie he's Mae's Guy in Bar), David Lander (Squiggy on L&S, sports announcer in movie), Tracy Reiner (Penny's daughter, in a few episodes of L&S, plays Betty Spaghetti in movie), and Tom Hanks (great actor!) and is all about my favorite sport? I swear, I've seen the movie so many times I can recite it (well, I mean, I can say the words along with it). A few of my favorite movies are Dick, Clue, Tommy Boy, Grease (Grease 2 was such a horrible sequel. I mean, why do they bother to make sequels for classics?), and the Waterboy (Hey, it's got the Fonz. Good enough for me!) ------------------ "Well, Laverne is sort of childish" -Shirley "Childish? I'm sorry, but Ken Griffey, Jr. pretty much killed them the first few games he was here.... ------------------ "Well, Laverne is sort of childish" -Shirley "Childish? Childish? A.J. 01-06-2001, 11:29 AM I don't have any really favorite movies, I like sitcoms more. My cousin is ALWAYS talking about Grease. Everytime I go to her house, she's on the phone talking about Grease. It aggrevates me, too. But I guess I'm worse with FOL. I love baseball, but I've never seen A League of Their Own. My favorite team is the White Sox, but I live Braves country. The Yanks are OK, too, but, my friend hates them, so I don't talk about them much. He loves the Braves. Once I was going to buy a Yankee poster, and he got so mad, he made me buy a Chipper Jones one instead. 80skid 01-06-2001, 12:38 PM 1. Wish Upon a Star 8. Model Behavior As you can see, I love movies where people switch places (C&L, 6,7,8) Those are the best ones, they are soo funny. I don't really like the new Parent Trap. I first saw the old one when I was 3 and didn't see the new one until I was 12 or 13... I don't really like many current movies. I like Coyote Ugly, Centerstage and Miss Congeniality. I can't wait to see Hannibal. I tried to go this weekend, but they were sold out in a flash. Silence of the Lambs is another favorite..but it's a different kind of movie. I'm_NMK 02-12-2001, 07:47 PM Eastland Girl - Didn't you start a topic on that a while back? If I recall correctly, there were many replies. [This message has been edited by EastLand_Girl (edited 02-14-2001).] Ian 02-14-2001, 02:47 AM "Braveheart" is my favorite film, followed by (in no particular order): Forrest Gump The Green Mile The Godfather Part II Boys Town Time after Time Kiss Me, Stupid Cape Fear (1962) American History X A Simple Plan and many, many more...... BlairW_1 02-14-2001, 11:42 PM I worshiped (pardon the expression) Anne! I know everything about her and Megan Follows! Just ask Kenzie! I have written a fanfic 51 pages long on wordpad and it's still not finished on it! If I didn't see Anne, I never would have started writing fanfics, wouldn't have become best friends with Kenzie, and would have never seen FOL! I have Kevin Sullivan to thank! ~*Danielle*~ Cokies 02-15-2001, 12:01 AM You see, I have my own little 'classic' series of movies I grew up with... The Goonies, The Neverending Story(just the original!) the Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones, E.T., Adventures in Babysitting. Those were the greats... But now, since I 've goten a bit older...The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Animal House, The Lost Boys, Stand by Me, etc. I also love Harry and The Hendersons! How could I have forgoten that! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif Oh, and CLASSIC TV MAN, American History X was really good. Disturbing, but good. X-Men was probably the best film I have seen recently. That and Gladiator... TVaddict 02-15-2001, 12:14 AM Cokies, you just named like all of my favorite movies. I only know like 3 other people who watched Harry and the Hendersons, well I had it on tape when I was younger. And Adventures in Babysitting is SOOOOOOOO good. Anyway, I have a bunch of others, but I already posted them when we did this topic before. FACTSOFLIFEFAN2 02-15-2001, 12:22 AM Yea another Harry & the Hendersons person. Plus I like: Anne of G. Gables & Avonlea., The Green Mile, Flashdance, Footloose, any Disney movie, Top Gun, Danielle Steel movies, Sleepless in Seatle, You Got Mail, and (Back Home and a Friendship in Vienna that I'm still trying to find somewhere. Darryl: Can't talk, gotta run. Chris: What are we gonna do? Sara: Get in the car, run him over. That part cracks me up every time! AlexzBonner 02-15-2001, 01:06 AM All of my favs are under BlairW_1's post! BTW, when we found out Megan Follows was on a show called 'The Facts of Life' we just kinda brushed it aside. Then, when N@N started publicity for the marathon, I thought the show sounded familiar so I started watching it and eventually got Danielle hooked. (breathe) But, I missed 'Jo's Cousin' the first time around so I was HIGHLY disappointed! CLASSICTVMAN-- I THINK it was you who mentioned Harry and the Hendersons'. OMG! I still have that movie MEMORIZED from when I was... 4? Or maybe 5... ~__~ Kenzie ~__~ EastLand_Girl 02-16-2001, 04:35 PM Haha, I have Harry and the hendersons. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif 80skid 02-16-2001, 10:24 PM I love a lot of movies... but I'm wondering if anyone shares my love of: Parent Trap II (this is NOT, and I repeat, NOT, the 1998 remake. I mean the 1986 one that airs on the Disney Channel "once in a blue moon" [as my Jo-lookalike English teacher says] and is about a girl named Nikki Ferris who meets a girl named Mary Grand in summer school just before Nikki moves to NYC to go to "a snobby, New York all girls school"), which I have on tape and I watch all the time so I know it by heart and I absolutely love it!!! And if anyone knows where you can find the opening song to it on Napster or on a CD, please tell me... my email address is included above my post... btw, the song is "let's keep what we've got, let's not let it go away... it's so beautiful it's like nothing else around think of what we've found and let's not lose it..." Soo... anyone else love this movie? J Polniaczek 02-16-2001, 10:56 PM Gosh. It's hard to decide on a favorite movie. I've seen a lot of good ones.
