I've got this idea for a new series:

It's called Better Times, the story of three 3 black friends who open a bar in Philadelphia.

The main characters are JJ (Jimmie Walker), Lionel (DAMON Evans) and Lamont (Demond Wilson).

This can't be a spinoff of The Jeffersons because Lionel says his old neighbor in NY, Mr. Bentley was from Wales (and not England).

And its not a spinoff of Sanford and Son because Lamont- the funniest one on the show- claims that his father, Fred B. (and not G) Sanford, always liked Chinese food (which he didn't).

And it isn't a spinoff of Good Times because JJ says his father died in a train crash (and not a car) and his catch phrase used to be FAN-TAS-TIC!

So, what do you think?

TOTALLY ORIGINAL.
NOT A SPINOFF - SO BACK OFF.

Those are from North By Northwest, one of my favorite movies.
The last quote was by James Mason's character Phillip Vandamm.

The whole movie is full of great quotes.

Well I finally recieved that article from Solomon.

Brian Damage
09-29-2003, 07:54 PM
And my final conclusion is...

Brian Damage
09-29-2003, 07:55 PM
Good Times was and always has been a spinoff of Maude.

Brian Damage
09-29-2003, 07:55 PM
Thanks Solomon for reassuring me.

The autumn and The Odd Couple- things are looking pretty good on some fronts.

I suppose a Yankees World Series would complete it for you Brian.

Brian Damage
09-30-2003, 11:12 AM
That would definitely be the icing on the cake. ;)

I was going to go to the game today, but I really couldn't afford to take off work.

My brother-n-law is going Thursday, but so far he hasn't offered me an extra ticket (I assume he doesn't have one since he is extremely thoughtful).

Brian Damage
09-30-2003, 11:29 AM
If I wanted to, my job can offer me a press pass to the stadium because I work in broadcasting. However, because of my superstition I wouldn't want to go. LOL

:D

Do you have any idea how he drew his conclusion from that article?

Brian Damage
09-30-2003, 02:16 PM
Well one of the producers of the show said it wasn't really a spinoff, but admitted it was the same character from the show Maude...therefore it is a spinoff.

sinatrastar
09-30-2003, 05:38 PM
Its got to be a spinoff. You passed up a pass to the game? That is getting beyond the point of a superstition :p Is the stadium in a bad area, I know it is in the Bronx but I dont know NYC.

Brian Damage
09-30-2003, 06:42 PM
Nah, the stadium is not in a bad area, but it's a pain in the butt to get there.

Brian Damage
09-30-2003, 06:43 PM
I know my superstition is an unhealthy one.

Brian Damage
09-30-2003, 06:44 PM
I just can't help it.

There are good areas in the Bronx? Where would you say the worst area is in the city?

Brian Damage
10-01-2003, 02:49 PM
The worst area in all of New York has to be East New York. There's alot of gangs over there.

Brian Damage
10-02-2003, 10:02 AM
Time to play the game...
