Though the loss of my cable caused me to say "bye" earlier on, I'm still going to feel a void when HOTC leaves Nick at Nite. We need to do something special to "mourn" the loss.

Im right with you on that! I, and Im sure all of us will feel so sad that day.

:( Eric gone.... but the truth is I will miss the hole show, not just Eric

Back to doing somthing special...maybe we can post all the fun times we had watching the show, what we liked about it, and what we will miss. Just a idea.

this sucks they are getting rid of HOTC, Perfect Strangers and Family Ties, wtf is up with that. I like Roseanne and all but keep it off N@N and Full House, well I wont say anything about that. N@N really need to get their act together.

And I thought HotC and Perfect Strangers were getting good ratings? Why do they have to put on a show I can see on other channels at different times of the day?

You said it! Roseanne just ran a long stint on TBS and it was on Oxygen ALL day long today, now Nick@Nite has it. Head of the Class only had Nick@Nite as it's TV home and now they're getting the boot for shows we could already watch elsewhere. Wasn't it bad enough it was on during the wee hours of the night?ohno:

I think this is a long line of HotC getting screwed over. When they were first on, the Emmys ignored them, then they were cancelled in the middle of their 5th season even though they had big plans ahead and now with them getting crummy or no air time at all!!

Dag. I didn't know that. That's a shame. "HOTC" could've (and should've) graduated into the college years...hoping it didn't end up with the demise of "Saved by the Bell's" College Years.

I hope HOTC gets on DVD. I don't have a personal DVD player myself (I have a personal VCR, and my family shares a DVD player), but DVD seems to have more longevity than VHS. That would be surreal if it came on DVD.

Hi,

I had actually contributed that info about HOTC ending on Sept. 26. I had seen an official post about it in the "Ask the Host" section of the TVLAND boards (as well as mortystv.com), and that 9/26 was the date that the new schedule minus HOTC was supposed to start. I had no clue that the Roseanne marathon would take over everything from 9/20 --> 9/26. I am truly sorry, and apologize for any inconvienience.

Thanks,
s40w

P.S. Does anyone remember "Billy," the short lived spinoff of HOTC, that took the Billy MacGregor character from NY to CA, where his work permit expired and he had to marry one of his night school students in order to stay in the US? It aired in 1992 on ABC, and only lasted for 13 episodes before being cancelled.

I applied to be the editor of "Billy" on TvTome, which I was granted. I have some things wrote up about Head of the Class, if anyone wants to see the sire, the address is:

http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-2432/

I have one episode on tape from 1992, and while it was pretty funny, I can understand now why it did not make it.

In one scene, Billy is reading a newspaper, and he puts it down in a nearby chair. He is standing in the living room, talking to his "wife" about her ex husband (with his hands in the pockets of his pants). Then, all of the sudden, he has the paper in his hads again, and then, back in his pockets (suggesting a bad edit job). Then, on 2 separate occasions, the phone rings, but the answering machine picks up on the first ring. Then, if you freeze-frame the opening credits, it is revealed that the wife's ex- husband's name is (and I am not making this up) Jerry Springer. However, in the show it is Roger. Sadly, the show only lasted 13 episodes.
