because the next three sitcoms he starred on in the 70's did not last more than a year. He left All in the Family in 1973 and after that he went to star in (Roll Out) which was replaced by Good Times 3 Months later, then he stared on a show called (On the Rocks) which was not renewed after the first season, and then in 1977 he starred on the spinoff (Tabitha) which only lasted a little less than a year. So I'm wondering was he just a bad Actor or just made bad decisions-LOL It's a shame he left a Hit show-LOL

He just made bad decisions. He did later have a supporting role on Scarecrow And Mrs. King.

Well atleast that show lasted from 83-87. MaYBE he just wasn't suited for sitcoms.

I'm wondering why Mel Stewart never reprised his role as Henry on either AITF or on the Jeffersons after that series started. Henry was only mentioned once on "The Jeffersons" when his son (played by pre-Diffrent Strokes Gary Coleman) came to visit George and Louise. (This was inconsistent with AITF because his wife or son were never mentioned there).

I think Henry's sparring with Archie in the early episodes were more effective than George's, although George was a stronger character for the spinoff series. But we only saw Henry and George together once, in the AITF episode where Henry left (and George was finally seen on camera).

It seemed like Henry allowed archie to get under his skin where George and Lionel were able to get under Archie's skin.

I think it was just a matter of poor decisions.
