from the start of the show but either caught it mid series or started watching it in reruns but wished you had seen it originally?

Was that a LONG sentence or WHAT?!

I have been watching "King of Queens" on UPN and I really am enjoying it. I don't know the reason that I did not watch it originally on CBS (I will now on Wednesdays) but I wish I had caught it earlier while it aired originally.

Another show I feel the same about is Drew Carey. It's pretty silly sometimes but I find myself laughing at it and I wish I had seen it when it was in it's original run.

NOT including shows I was born after. (and Cheers, because I would be too young)

Frasier.
Its IMO the best show on TV, and I just wish I had watched it throughout its entire run.

Okay, I finally got one.

George Lopez. I think I'll watch it regularly this season. I've only seen...about 4 episodes, but I liked them.

Friends-started watching during the 7th season

Mad About You-started to watch in syndication in 1996.

Three's Company-when I was about 7 or 6. I was only 1 when it went off the air.

Family Guy-someone I know has a DVD box set, that's when I started to watch it. Only 3 months ago.

Dharma and Greg- Saw a few episodes during it's 2nd season but didn't catch a whole lot since they were against Will and Grace at the time.

3rd Rock from the Sun- started watching in syndication in 2000 I beleive.

The Nanny - I saw a few episdodes on CBS, but it never really interested me until I saw it on local channels. I wish I would have got the last season on tape, but I read CBS was being a bitch to that show and put it on hiatus.

Friends - I have been watching it since season 6 I think. It was the season where Chandler asked Monica to marry him. But now I hardly watch it because I had to get some one into it and make that show very annoying to me.

Will & Grace - started watching it on local channels a year ago, and then watched the new episodes on NBC.

a lot of sitcoms

most notable examples

Small Wonder - started watching the show in the middle of the 3rd season (1987-1988) and have seen it in reruns (from 1990 to 1992)

The Cosby Show - started watching the show in the beginning of the 7th season (1990-1991) and have seen it in reruns a countless number of times

Diff'rent Strokes - started watching the show in the beginning of the last season (1985-1986) and have seen it in reruns (from 2000 to 2002)

ONLY listing shows that have aired new episodes in any form in the past decade, shows that premiered when I wasn't even born yet really aren't fair, lol.

Buffy - I actually avoided the show like the plague when it premiered because I held the Luke Perry film against it... when I finally got into the show, I hated myself for not checking out from day one

Seinfeld - didn't start watching it until season 5 and then wish I had watched it when it started, but of course, I was into TGIF back when Seinfeld started

Roswell - started watching it during the last season when it came on after Buffy on Tuesday nights and wished I had seen seasons 1 and 2 when on WB

Popular - never saw until DVD, checked it out because for years between the demise of the show and it's release on DVD, I had a friend who talked Popular this, Popular that and was (and still is) obsessed with the show, so it made me wish to see the show because he had given me enough motivation to check it out, and when I did, I loved it yet hated myself for not watching when it was new

Sex And The City - avoided the show at first because I thought it was probably just smut, then started watching during season 3 and became hooked on it and quickly became one of my favorite shows, and was glad that it was one of the first shows released on DVD, so I was able to catch up on seasons 1 and 2 by the time season 4 premiered.

The X-Files - I heard a lot about it, but I managed to avoid the show for 9 years on Fox... then when TNT started airing the reruns after the show had ended that I became hooked on the show and hated that I lost nine good years I could've spent watching the show unravel.

Let's see :

Wings: I didn't watch the show until mid-04 on Nick at Nite. It was on before Threes Company and I decided just to leave on NAN until Threes Company came on and low and behind my username for sitcom online was born.

Smallville: This past summer when I was reading the Fall Schedule and saw that Smallville was making a move to Thursday, so I thought I try it out. After I saw an episode... Smallville has become one of my favorite shows.

That 70s Show: Started watching the marathons on FX, and enjoyed the show ever since.

Roswell: Heard it was a good show, discovered reruns came on Sc-Fi and started watching the show. Loved it, hate that its canceled.. but can watch the episodes over and over again.

Hangin' With Mr. Cooper. When it ran originally, I didn't give the show a chance. I thought it was another silly 90s sitcom. I watched it by accident oneday in reruns. It was good. I watched it again and again and I was like, this is a funny show. It wasn't silly or nothing, just funny. It probably would have had a bigger audience if ABC would have moved it off Friday nights.

Ill discount the shows that started before I was born.....
1- Get Smart/ Only saw this show twice when it ran originally., my parents thought it was too violent , so I only saw it with the babysitter...and then many years later, still love it...know most eps word for word by heart
2- Dick Van Dyke / saw it in syndication
3- Married with Children / got into it in the second season
4- Wings, came in in the middle, left before it was done
5- As Time Goes by- a short Brit series, by the time it got to Canada, theyd already done 2-3 seasons

*Not counting shows I was too young to consider myself a fan of, or shows that were before my time...

Curb Your Enthusiasm~I started watching the dvds a few weeks ago (so I started watching when the 5th season was done).

Dharma and Greg~ I used to watch it here and there, but I didn't start really getting into it until the last season.

ER~ Everyone was obsessed with it, but I had no interest....Until the 4th season.

Everwood~ The first episode I saw was the 2nd season finale.

Freaks and Geeks~ I started watching it when abcfamily showed the reruns. I never saw it on NBC.

Frasier~ I was too young to actually understand it all, but I was a fan of the show as a kid. I started watching it when it first came to local syndication in the late 1990`s, and watched most of the last few seasons on NBC.

Friends~ Like ER, I didn't start watching until the 4th season. And I believe it was the fall of 1998, when the show went into local syndication. I became even more obsessed with it then.

Gilmore Girls~ Didn't start watching until the summer before the 7th season! (I caught up on the first 6 years, on DVD).

The Office~ I caught up on the first 2 seasons on DVD, in 2007. I can't wait for the 3rd, and to finally watch the show in primetime this fall.

Roseanne~ I didn't jump on the Roseanne bandwagon until the spring of 2003. One day I was flipping through, and it was on TBS, 3 times in a row. It kept my attention for an hour and a half, and I've watched ever since.

Sister, Sister~ I never saw the show until it went to The WB.
Smallville~ I didn't start watching until the 1st season finale.

That 70`s Show~ I watched it here and there, but never cared for it, until 2007. I find myself watching it a lot now, and I plan on getting the DVD sets in the future.

Undeclared~ Never saw it until it was off the air for several years.

Will & Grace~ I started watching at the start of the 5th season.

MANY sitcoms, a few examples:
Three's Company - first saw this in local syndication (I remember this used to come on every weeknight at 6 PM in my area for a while)
Growing Pains, Who's The Boss? - back in the early to mid '90's, TBS ran hour long blocks of these shows at 6:05 & 7:05 PM, called "TBS Light"

Knight Rider - I remember watching this in local syndication as well
Dawson's Creek - I saw the whole run of this on TBS recently
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Just started watching this a few weeks ago on FX
Gilmore Girls - I watched this occassionally in the original run but just started watching it on ABC Family on a regular basis
Smallville - I started watching this near or after season 3 started
One Tree Hill - I started watching this near the start of season 2, I believe

Shows i only caught in reruns? hmmm....

Well, Kate & Allie comes to mind, i never saw that show until it started airing on E! Entertainment Television back in the late 1990's for a short time

Melrose Place; i hadn't seen it until it entered national syndication on E! Enterainment Television again in the late 1990's... and from that day forward i was HOOKED, and became very obsessed with it

Knot's Landing, i hadn't ever seen that show until they showed it in reruns on Soapnet but then i became hooked

Murphy Brown - for such a good show this is, I didn't get really involved utnil the tenth season. And even for the short time I watched it, I still cried during the finale!

Roseanne - Didn't start watching until season 6. I guess that's why I'm one person who likes the later seasons the most!

Gilmore Girls- Didn't catch this show until this year and I'm so bummed I missed out on it while it was airing. A friend had me watch a rerun back while it was still on the air but I wasn't in a good mood and didn't really get into the show and just thought of it at a show I wouldn't really like. Then years later I found out that a lot of my friends who I have similiar interests with like the show so I watched it from the pilot and got hooked.

Full House- Granted I was only 5 when this show went off the air but still I wish I could say I had the same childhood memories of watching this as lot of people do since when I did catch on it became my favorite show of all time. I knew of Mary-Kate and Ashley because my friend owned one of their You're Invited VHS tapes and we watched it together but I didn't catch on to this show until I was a teenager watching Nick At Nite.

7th Heaven- Well the early-middle years anyway. The later years I probably wouldn't have bothered catching on the air.

One Tree Hill- I didn't catch on to this until it was in it's 6th season. I grew to love this show so much though and I know if I would have watched this from the pilot I would have been hooked!

The original Hawaii Five-O. I didn't see much of it when it was in reruns the first time, but through the DVDs, it has become one of my most favorite shows.
