Out of all the cast member who do you think has had the most success since the show left NBC.
I think Kelsey did with the highly rated Frasier. Except for last season when it placed 30 for the season. Ted has had some success with movies but as far as television goes not so good. Yes he does have "Becker" but CBS cancelled it then brought it back for this coming season. But the show only average 11 million viewers last season.

I would say Kelsey too.

I wouldn't.....he's only been famous for playing one character...and will probably forever be typecasted. Besides can anybody name a kelsey grammer movie (besides toy story two) that was succesful?

Kelsey, biggest star, highest payed. why couldn't it have been shelley? oh yes that's right b/c she chose to leave the show! see what a decision like that can do? lol

You mean to tell me that Down Periscope didn't rake it in. ;)

Personally, I think that Bebe Neuwirth has had the best success in acting although she might not be the most famous. She's been able to star on Broadway and she recently achieved very high critical acclaim for her role in Tadpole. Woody Harrleson has also achieved success in movies and television. John Ratzenberger has had success in all the Pixar movies. Kirstie Alley has starred in some popular movies and she had a short-lived successful sitcom on NBC. She also continues to appear in Pier 1 commercials and she has expressed interests in her own talk show. Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, and Shelley Long haven't been in the spotlight too often these past few years. Kelsey Grammer and Ted Danson both have had successful television shows after Cheers ended.

Here's my list of who I think the most successful Cheers castmembers are (1 being the most successful):

1. Bebe Neuwirth
2. Woody Harrleson
3. Kelsey Grammer
4. Ted Danson
5. John Ratzenberger
6. Kirstie Alley
7. Shelley Long, George Wendt, and Rhea Perlman

I think Shelley's other failed sitcom was called Good Advice.

I remember in an nterview once Wendt said, "I dont think people are ready to see me in tv again. So I just stick to theatre and movies." For me its Wendt cause I think hes been in alot of stuff since Cheers, But he just wasnt as popular.

I think Kelsey Grammer has been the most successful with his multiple-winning role on Frasier and his roles in Down Periscope and TV movies like Benedict Arnold. He is also doing Gary the Rat now. Also, A really great movie of his, that was really successful, was 15 Minutes starring Robert DeNiro.

Definately Kelsey Grammer.
He's probably one of the most memorable faces in television.

Two HUGELY popular shows. With critics AND viewers.

Toy Story 2.... one of the biggest movies, EVER.

Don't forget Kelsey's work on the Simpsons as Sideshow Bob.

Ohh yeah!
Sideshow Bob.

AND Gary The Rat.

Kelsey and John have both done some GREAT voice acting.

And about Kelsey being typecasted, do you honestly think that ANYBODY from Cheers, will ever be thought of as anything, BUT their Cheers' character??

I dont.

And its making Toy Story 2, even funnier.

That's very true, I think all of them are somewhat typecasted into these roles. I mean when you see Ted Danson, do you honestly see him as anything else but Sam?

I think that Bebe, Kelsey and Woody were all successful, just in different mediums. Woody had great success with the critics in film, Bebe had success on the stage, and Kelsey's had an incredible TV career.

Least successful,
sorry Steve, he's my favorite too.
But George Wendt IMO.
Or maybe Rhea Perlman....

but overall, they've gotten on.

I disagree, at least for Rhea, She was in the Micheal Moore film "Canadian Bacon" (which is HILARIOUS btw) and "Matilda" plus she was on taxi before CHeers...and I think she did another important movie

haha Tim its cool, you have the right to your opinion. George like Bebe, took his acting to the theatre after Cheers. But still, I think hes the best.

I guess you guys are right about Rhea. (but Matilda doesnt count, it sucked)

Pearl, I wouldnt call a success.

The George Wendt Show either.

And George and Rhea are two of my favorite Cheers actors, but I think everyone else has gone onto bigger success.

And I wasnt considering TAXI or anything pre-Cheers, because I was thinking more, success AFTER the typecasting.

But in some way, they're all successful.
They've gotten on.
Now all they need to do is come back.

Matilda did not suck tim, it's one thing if you don't like it, but it did not suck. IT was one of the best kids movies that had come around for a while back in I think it was 96. If we are counting failures then Pearl, and the George Wendt show should count.

Ok it didnt suck, but I never liked it.
It seemed TOO perfect ending.

It left NO room for a sequel.
Well, unless the parents came back....

I just never liked the movie, sorry for saying it sucked.
Just, Danny and Rhea have done MUCH better.

I will agree that They both have done much better, but I thought it was pretty good. Sometimes it is good to leave no room for a sequel.

You're right, sometimes it is good not to have a sequel, its just, the ending seemed TOO perfect.

Just something, I dont know, it never really appealed to me.

I don't think I agree with you all about typecasting, at least as far as Bebe goes. One would just have to watch Tadpole, The Paint Job, or Summer of Sam to know what I mean. In about 95% of the movie roles she has had, she plays a character who is completely opposite Lilith. I even read an interview she did about how she doesn't like typecasting and how she accepts roles tht are as far away from Lilith as possible.

Okay, anyone who said Kelsey, I'd have to disagree. After the show (or maybe even during the show), he became a drug addict (or something like that) and had very few shows/movies, other than "Frasier". I'd have to say the most successful is... well, actually, I have no idea. I guess Kirstie, since she had a LOT of movies after that.

I think Kelsey Grammer has definitely been the most successful, He has won three Emmys and two Golden Globes. He did a movie a few years ago called "Down Periscope," which was hilarious! He did the Benedict Arnold TV movie, which was great!
The only Kirstie Alley has done is the Look Who's Talking movies and a few Pier 1 commericals. No one from Cheers has matched his success.
