Yeah, I know, that was possibly the weirdest thing about that episode (although there's a lot to chose from, lol!).

Imagine what would happen today if somebody showed up on the beach in shorts and a leather jacket.

I went swimming twice this summer with jeans andd a sweatshirt:lol:

Solomon, may I ask you something?
What do you have against fonzie anyways? For a sitcom analyzer you tend to focus a LOT on finding faults to the fonz character:confused:

It's not just the Fonz, he finds faults against every tv character.
he claims to like some shows, yet, he picks them apart and criticizes them. As Brian Damage said, Solomon analyzes things to death. A very bad thing.

I hope no one misunderstood my last post, i happen to think the Fonz is awesome! i just thought about how someone who did that today would be treated. I have seen a couple of people who have taken the Elvis idolization think too far, and dress up like him ALL the time. Most people just think that is a little too weird. My post was along those lines of thinking about the individual who tries to imitate the Fonz.

I guess beacuse he was too cartoonish. I was so tired of that leather jacket season after season. And to see him water skiiing with that Jacket on was really crazy. Plus the Fonzie character was supposed to be so cool but never was in a real fight. I don't buy that he was so intimidating to everyone. IMO, Richie was the one who was Cool. He even punched Fonzie in the face-LOL I never seen Fonzie punch nobody.

No cool is not punching someone in the face, but I just never saw Fonzie earn the respect he had from everyone.

Well, I think that every one of us has known a "Fonzie" sometime in our lifetime. That one guy who was always the coolest and toughest around. I believe the writers just wanted each of us to identify him with someone in our own lives. Certainly, we know that the "Fonz" never exhibited his fighting skills really, but i think it was just one of those things that we were supposed to just believe and accept. I don't think most of us would in real life be intimidated by Henry Winkler, but as the Fonz we just thought that he was baddest dude alive. It was just a fantasy trip for all of us. I guess just take it with a grain of salt and just pretend while we are watching "happy days" that someone could be like that. That is the way i have always done it and enjoyed the show. It's kinda like Al Bundy, no one's live could really be THAT bad. But, it sure was fun to watch and imagine if there really was someone that bad off. :)

Fonzie did take off his jacket on the beach (but wore it most of the time).

The one thing he did wear on the beach the whole time in Hollywood was his boots. Check it out the next time it's on.
