View Full Version : Obsessive personalities
Teddy02 09-18-2003, 05:25 PM We all just have obsessive personalities here. after reading the "hello everyone" thread i've relized that we have all been obsessed with different things b4 we were obsessed with cheers. i mean some ppl left the boards because they are "over" cheers and obsessed with something else. however i , for one think i have found my one true obsession. lol  anyway what were some of ur other obsessions b4 u were obsessed with cheers? i was first obsessed with multiple personalities and after i saw sally field in "sybil"(which by the way is a very scary and disturbing movie imo) i watched a lot of sally field movies and i was also obsessed with three's company (well not a full blown obsession but sort of) at one point and then i was obsessed with sela ward. anyone else?
Brian Damage 09-18-2003, 05:38 PM I don't think I was ever obsessed to anything.
MaydayMalonesGirl 09-18-2003, 05:42 PM I used to be obsessed with eminem. I still like him a lot but I'm not obsessed anymore.
barwars 09-19-2003, 08:00 PM i REALLY liked The Brady Bunch about 5 years ago.
After that, I "minor obsessed" over The Facts Of Life and The Cosby Show.
Im STILL obsessed with Survivor.
But Cheers would have to be my biggest obsession.
Dont start me on movies....
haha. When I was in 7th and 8th grade, I had a HUGE obsession with Blink 182. Then they had Enema of the State and Take off your.... and I fell out of them. Now its all Wendt, cheers, and skating for me.
DianeChambers87 09-19-2003, 08:12 PM ...when I was 8 I had a HUGE thing with Elvis...lol
When I was 11 and 12 i was OBSESSED with I love lucy...lol I bought the books, dolls the works.....and taped almost the entire series....lol well I did...Can anybody Guess what show i taped over lucy? Any one? Any one? Bueller? Bueller? lol
Oh god, my 8th period teacher reminds me of Ben Stine, no emotions, just talks.
Is the answer to the question Cheers?
wizard12 09-19-2003, 08:57 PM Hockey always has and always will be my biggest ever obsession. Survivor is also a pretty big one, same with Family Guy.

Correct Steven! and your up by 10 points...lol
dr frasier crane 09-19-2003, 09:11 PM I used to have an obsession with Three's Company, The Beatles, Star Wars, and Back to the Future. I still love all of them, but i wouldn't necessarily call them obsessions.
CheersChild4life 09-19-2003, 10:29 PM Nothing I don't think.
Oh my gosh, I've had sooooooo many. When I was 11, I was so obsessed with "The Sound of Music" that my mom hid the tape and only let me watch it once a week.

omg lol ok 3 months before I discovered Cheers...I must've been 14 I had an obsession with "The Sound of Music" the movie is 3 hours long I would get home at like 3 watch it till 6 and then do homework...and if it was the weekend I would watch it twice a day...it got really sad.lol That love scene between Maria and Captain Vontrapp really got to me...I would cry every time I would see it...lol
See I have always needed something to focus my energy on...movies aren't particularly good to be obsessed with because you can only watch a movie so many times...after a month or so of watching it every day, I put it away lol. But then Cheers came and thats 275 episodes of obsession right there...lol
Brian Damage 09-20-2003, 07:20 PM Let's hope none of you get tired of it. ;)
I don't get tired of anything. I can still recite The Sound of Music from start to finish w/out the tape even being on. And Cheers is still key a year after I started to love it.
DianeChambers87 09-20-2003, 08:35 PM I still LOVE the sound of Music...I just don't watch it every day ...lol
But I now relish the fact that I am sixteen going on seventeen and can sing the song...lol!!! lol that was like the biggest plus to turning 16....lol forget driving! I can sing the "Sound of Music" song!!and I literally hum it or sing it once a day...I catch myself doing it unconsciously
When I was younger, I could mimic voices really well, and I used to sing Sixteen Going on Seventeen (the second one that Julie and the girl sing) and do the voices.
DianeChambers87 09-20-2003, 08:43 PM jeje I usually sing the one Leisle and Rolfe do. I can't do a Man voice so I end up only singing Leisle's part.
barwars 09-21-2003, 09:42 AM The Sound of Music is SO overrated.
Mary Poppins could kick its ass ANY day.

No way! Mary Poppins is pretty good, but as far as musicals go, the sound of music is fantastic.

barwars 09-21-2003, 12:35 PM Ohh, I thought we were talking Julie Andrews (thats her first name right?) movies only.
In this case....

Mary Poppins still beats 'em all.
Cartoons dont count, or Aladdin would kick EVERYBODY's ass.
Dannie IsNotHere 09-21-2003, 01:17 PM Ok, so back to the original point of this post...
First I was obsessed with The Brady Bunch- it was the coolest show ever! And then later I became obsessed with The Parent Trap.
Now, other than Cheers, I'm obsessed with singing and this song, "Anytime", by Kelly Clarkson.
Anytime you need love baby I'm on your side... just let me be the one I can make it all right... anytime you need love baby you're in my heart... I can make it all right...
How old is that girl like 13? Personally, usic today in my opinion, is chiste.

lol that is freaky! That is also why I became addicted to Cheers to...initially the Sam and Diane relationship...the rest of the cast won me over.
Teddy02 09-21-2003, 08:36 PM lol i probably got this from you maria
It's totally not surprising that people who like Cheers often tend to like films of the 50's/60's--the Cheers writers were clearly influenced by them. Their model for the Sam/Diane relationship was Spencer Tracy/Katherine Hepburn.
DianeChambers87 09-22-2003, 07:46 PM I'm more of a 70s/80s movie person, although I do love Casablanca and Gone with the wind......but then again who doesn't?
barwars 09-22-2003, 08:27 PM I like all decades after 50.
But 80s are the best.
Dannie IsNotHere 09-22-2003, 09:40 PM Another thing I was obsessed with:
The song "Numb" by P!nk.
"I was weak before now you've made me so numb!"
"Why Can't it be the 1980's"
CheersChild4life 09-23-2003, 09:53 PM I dunno ask god?
Oh the 80's. I can't say I didn't love them when they were here, but I think I love them more now that they're gone. They were a little
david&maddie4ever 09-28-2003, 10:17 PM Oh, my goodness. I've obsessed over so many things!
About three years ago, I was completely and totally obsessed with game shows! GSN would be the ONLY thing ever on my TV! :wallbang
I was IN LOVE with N*SYNC a couple years ago. That one got really scary!
I was obsessed with Lonestar for a while, too. That was a couple months ago. (For those of you who aren't fans of country, Lonestar is a country band!)
Right now, I'm obsessed with...
Faith Hill :notworthy
The New York Yankees
volleyball
Moonlighting
message boards! :typing:
...And maybe Cheers!
Later.
