Janice Johnson 09-18-2003, 09:33 AM What was the "red hot I"? I've read that it gave people nightmares. They said that in Sesame Street, they had an "I" that would run down a steel mill, have a black background and have a scary piano music playing.
Remember the old theme song?

Now, they've changed it to a theme that many people don't like. Why did they do that?
What happened to Forgetful Jones?
The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12?
Why did they "replace" Grover with Elmo, who is an annoying, annoying sounding furry creature?
Blair_Warner02 09-18-2003, 12:31 PM What did they change the theme song to? I babysit a three-year-old and last time we watched Sesame Street the theme song was the same as it always was.
Grover has also been seen on a few ocasions, it's rare.
Janice Johnson 09-18-2003, 12:40 PM Oh, you must have seen a rerun. I don't know what they changed the theme song to, but from what I've read, it sounds technotronic. There is no more Barkley chasing kids, kids running behind a tree and "disappearing", and people say that Sesame Street has gone really downhill since Jim Henson died.
Chocoholic 09-18-2003, 02:57 PM Sesame Street really has taken a turn for the worse ever since Jim Henson died. It used to entertain and teach kids, not talk down to them. Plus, adults also could enjoy it. I cringe at what I see now. That is NOT Sesame Street! And Elmo is pure evil. He was the downfall of the show, IMHO.

Yeah I Cant stand Elmo, I Miss when Big Bird was the main character.
Grover ruled too. Is Kermit still On? He was the best :D

I know! I use to watch it when I was a kid, but now the new one STINKS!:barf: Jim Henson was the Mastermind of it all.

musicradio77 09-18-2003, 09:32 PM I remember the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12! Now it's gone but not forgotten. I remember this was from the 70's where they have a psychedelic pinball animation and the counting song. That song got really stuck in my head many times.
That street started going downhill after Mr. Hooper died.

Hollow 09-18-2003, 09:43 PM I dont think i ever saw it. but i believe i saw some halloween special (or some scary episode or movie or something i think, it was so long ago i dont remember that good) and at the end it showed some weird... things... poking up from the ground or something. i cant really describe it but it scared me..

I remember that episode when Mr. Hooper died. I was balling my eyes out. I can still see all the adults sitting around the table and Big Bird coming up to them with the pictures he had made. He had made one for Mr. Hooper too and he kept saying he would give it to him when he came back. Maria finally convinced him that Mr. Hooper wasn't caming back. :crying:

wasnt eurikas castle the show with that guy (i think he was a bat) and he always crashed into things when he was flying and said "i meant to do that"?

That's the one. I hated that show!
Come to think of it... I hated just about all kiddie shows when I was a kid. I despised Barney! I even avoided Sesame Street! I guess I felt that they insulted my intelligence.
Recently, in my old age, I've come to enjoy sesame street, bear in the Big blue House, etc. Mind you, I never learn anything I didn't already know. I just like how cute they can be!
However, nothing you can say or do will every, EVER, EVER get me to watch Barney! That evil dinosaur should have been dead eons ago! If all dinosaurs were like him, I can see why the went extinct: They killed each other off with their horrid songs!
Anyway...
Sesame on Noggin? I'll check it out!
