View Full Version : Yes, Dear in Syndication -- Locals and TBS Fall 2004!
Miss Golden 09-18-2003, 12:58 AM Does anyone know if Yes Dear will be in syndication next year for Fall 2004??? Its hard to believe the show is entering its 4th season. To my knowledge it is the only comedy from the Fall of 2000 that survived for syndication for Fall 2004.
omalleyfan 09-20-2003, 05:25 AM I'm not too positive, because King Of Queens and Becker (both CBS shows which premiered in 1998) didn't go into syndication until this year
Pavan 02-11-2004, 11:01 AM Twentieth Television has cleared CBS sitcom "Yes, Dear" across 67% of the country for off-net syndication for this fall, fall 2004.
"Yes, Dear" will bow this fall in Fox duopoly markets (including New York (WWOR/WNYW), L.A. and Chicago) and on Fox stations in Salt Lake City and Kansas City, plus Baltimore's UPN affiliate.
Two-year all-barter deal is split with 4.5 minutes to the stations and 2.5 to Twentieth. Stations can double-strip the series.
"Quality sitcoms are some of the best investments a station can make," said Bob Cook, prexy and chief operating officer of Twentieth TV. "Every time 'Yes, Dear' has been asked to perform, it's done well."
Other stations signing on are duopolies in San Francisco, San Diego and Denver and the WB100+ Station Group (The WB Cable).
"Yes, Dear" is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television in association with CBS Prods.
EricIdlefan 02-26-2004, 01:49 AM It premiered in 2001 and it has to air at least four seasons and go into a fifth and it will be probaby in 2005, which is next year the show will be seen five days a week.
LizaSfan 02-26-2004, 04:04 PM ACtually it premiered in oct of 2000, it needs to hurry up and syndicate dammit! The beginning of next season they will have their 100th episode!!! With some areas picking it up next season more areas will start picking it up.
LizaSfan 02-28-2004, 12:35 PM Dude that's what I was saying if it's syndicating in those areas it'll start syndicating in other places!
Pavan 03-16-2004, 05:18 PM If your local affiliate will not be showing Yes, Dear this fall, then fear not, TBS will start airing the show in August:
Twentieth Televisionhas sold CBS sitcom Yes, Dear to cable network TBS: Very Funny.
The multiyear deal gives the network a month head start to run the series exclusively in syndication in August before station syndication deals kick in in September.
Yes, Dear currently leads off Monday for CBS. The show is just the latest addition to a big ticket sitcom lineup for TBS, which is re-launching in June. Other shows in its arsenalinclude Seinfeld, Friends, and Home Improvement, with Everybody Loves Raymond and Sex and the City being added this summer and King of Queens in 2005.
Yes, Dear is currently cleared on stations representing almost 70% of the country for a fall 2004 launch.
