I just wanted to know if it's any good because I'll be switching ISPs in a few weeks. I'm gonna miss AOL.

View Full Version : Does anyone here have CompuServe? M82A1 09-16-2003, 08:57 PM I just wanted to know if it's any good because I'll be switching ISPs in a few weeks. I'm gonna miss AOL. WrenCanada 09-16-2003, 09:05 PM I've never used CompuServe, but if you like AOL so much, why are you switching at all? I myself use Sprint. Money problems :( CompuServe is only like $9.95 a month. Brian 09-16-2003, 09:12 PM I used to have CompuServe. I liked AOL better but that was probably due to the fact that I was very used to AOL and didn't want to adjust to something new. Truth 09-16-2003, 09:35 PM Ive heard its a lot like AOL... its owned be AOL So that would be why lol, but on it you can still talk to AOL users and AIM users... Josh9125 09-17-2003, 01:04 AM I used to have it. It's not that great though... M82A1 09-17-2003, 08:13 AM Originally posted by Josh9125 I used to have it. It's not that great though... Yeah? But can you have multiple screen names? does it have AIM? PZelda 09-17-2003, 11:45 AM Never had either of them...Local ISPs are the way to go. :D Liza 09-17-2003, 07:36 PM I've had both. It's my experience that AOL is faster, but what ticked me off was that AOL wouldn't let me access every site. I couldn't work on my webpage at all (cuz it was hosted by tripod, not AOL). I never had any problems with compuserve. It's probably faster by now anyways :) M82A1 09-17-2003, 07:40 PM Originally posted by Liza I've had both. DetectiveGriffin 09-17-2003, 07:57 PM i had compuserve for a couple years. its just like aol, but a little less annoying. you can have 7 usernames unless theyve changed this, and it has a thingie for reading newsgroups and all that. you can still use netscape and intrernet explorer independant of compuserve (that bar over the top of your screen, just like aol), but this has to be checked of in your internal settings. there is a place in your preferences to keep those jerks from calling you every five minutes, as well. it has to be set for each username, and if you reinstall, it has to be reset.
