Terri Garr was nominated for her role in Tootsie in 1982 (?), I think she should have won instead of Jessica Lange, imo.

I thought Jessica Lang did a pretty good job in tootsie. I found Terri Garr's character somewhat annoying.

Jessica Lange did a good job, imo, but I liked Terri's character and performance better.

Jessica Lange was a lead role - Teri Garr had the true supporting role - I think they both should have won ;)

I loved Elizabeth McGovern in "Ragtime" she definately should have won that :)
Amy Irving is a great actress. I haven't seen "Yentl" but I want to see her win. Too bad she hasn't done that much since she divorced Steven Spielberg.
Melanie Griffith was up for "Working Girl." Good movie, but I don't think she'll have many more nominations ;)

I thought River Phoenix should've recieved the Oscar for his role in Running on Empty.. too bad he didn't. Joan Cusack and Melanie Griffith were both great in Working Girl! Ditto for Harrison Ford in Witness.
I remember the other nominees, too, who were really good in their performances.
I remember being really pissed that Melanie Griffith was nominated for her role in "Working Girl."
Overrated.

It's the only half-decent performance she'll ever give ;) Be kind
