The Colony from 1995. John Ritter plays a husband and father, fed up with crime in his neighborhood so he moves his family into an idealized gated community. However, it turns out to be a mini dictatorship that regiments every aspects of the residents lives by any means necessary. Horrified by the total disregard for freedom and privacy, the father tries to leave and then the real trouble begins.

This movie is pretty cool, all kind of "done before" but it has jack tipper, barney miller, and herb tarlek (wkrp) in it, so i had to have!
